Rong Xu’s voice contained a trace of unconcealed gentleness and faint fatigue. He gently stroked his old classmate’s hair as if earnestly coaxing a crying child.

This was completely different from the last two shots!

Previously, the Xue Jiazhe presented by Rong Xu only recited his line to Tan Yangxuan with a gentle appearance. He knew in his heart that he wasn’t qualified to be a teacher, but he also didn’t care. Thus, he had casually ignored Tan Yangxuan’s words. But now…… when he touched Tan Yangxuan’s hair and spoke those words in a self-deprecating manner, everything seemed to have changed.

Advertisements

Xue Jiazhe didn’t really have a sociopathic personality. He had emotions and feelings of affection. Thus, he understood the need to comfort those who were exhausted.

Of course, a drunk person definitely wouldn’t be able to listen to his words, only grasping a few main points: “Really, I’m not stupid, of course I can be a professor. Come, Jiazhe, have another cup! Let’s drink another cup. If we’re not drunk, I won’t leave!”

With that said, Tan Yangxuan picked up the thirteenth bottle of beer and downed it into his stomach. As soon as he finished drinking, he suddenly collapsed onto Xue Jiazhe and fell asleep, snoring loudly. There was no longer any trace of the heroic appearance when he said “Not drunk, won’t leave.”

Xue Jiazhe put the glass of alcohol down with a calm expression, pushed the person off of him before tidying up the table, then finally…… grabbed Tan Yangxuan’s collar and dragged the entire person from the window sill into the bedroom. He expressionlessly dragged the person onto the bed and removed his shoes before pulling up the blanket. After a moment of deliberation, he pulled the blanket off again and opened the closet to look for a set of pajamas.

The camera followed along beside Rong Xu, recording the glass specimen bottle hidden deep inside the closet. The right hand prop inside was extremely realistic as it floated in the center of the bottle of formalin[1], glowing with a faint green shine.

With this, the longest continuous shot was complete.

For the film, only the final piece of this scene remained to be shot.

Bo Xiwen was still lying on the bed as a backdrop, but the cameraman was squatting in the closet to film Rong Xu from the inside out.

On the screen, the cold and handsome young professor looked around for a while before appearing to have found something. In his hands was an extra set of pajamas. There was no expression on his cold face.

After taking out the clothes, he looked down towards the camera as the corner of his lips slightly curved upwards, revealing a smile without a trace of warmth.

     Then, the door closed.

And the scene descended into darkness.

     Maze City was officially complete!

Because the final scene was a night scene, everyone waited until nightfall before completing the shooting. When it was finished, it was already 9:30 in the evening, but no one felt tired or exhausted. As soon as it ended, everyone’s eyes brightened with excitement, and laughter filled the set.

Rong Xu sat in the dressing room and allowed the makeup artist to help remove his makeup. While removing makeup, the artist sighed with emotion: “Rong Rong’s face is truly so good for applying makeup. Good skin and three-dimensional facial features. I don’t know if we’ll have a chance in the future to work together again.”

Rong Xu had a good relationship with all the staff members, so this makeup artist’s tone was also very casual.

Hearing this, Rong Xu smiled lightly: “There will definitely be another chance, Sister Zhao.”

Everyone joked around a bit longer, and when Rong Xu finished removing his makeup, Bo Xiwen also finished removing his.

Noticing Rong Xu, Bo Xiwen was momentarily taken aback and he stood awkwardly on the spot, unmoving for a long time. Seeing this, Rong Xu contemplated for a bit and then understood the other party’s meaning. He smiled and stepped forward, saying: “The last scene was just a convenient addition. Thank you for cooperating with me, Bo Xiwen.”

Bo Xiwen gave a soft “en“, but avoided making eye contact with Rong Xu.

Soon, Director Yuan came over and brought everyone to their final crew banquet together.

During dinner, Rong Xu also downed a few glasses of alcohol. After all, since there were no more scenes to be filmed the following day, everyone drank their fill. Considering that Rong Xu had released “Lost Wings”, which opened a path for him to potentially double as a singer in the future, they only poured him a few drinks and didn’t really force him to drink in abundance.

As for Director Yuan, Bo Xiwen, and the others, most had already collapsed onto the table and had to be supported back to the hotel by the assistants.

Rong Xu and Luo Qian walked towards the hotel together and ran into many of the staff members along the way. Everyone greeted him happily. Several staff members even took out their cell phones to take a group photo and then asked for autographs. Rong Xu accepted all of them.

On the serene path, the stream of people gradually dwindled, and only the cool June evening breeze blew about, blowing away one’s frustrations.

Luo Qian hugged her small bag and asked curiously: “Xiao Xu, why did you suddenly touch Bo Xiwen’s head at the end? I was so shocked. I didn’t expect you to add this movement without warning…… but the effect was pretty good. Director Yuan was very satisfied and also didn’t call any more NGs.”

Rong Xu raised his gaze and said with a smile: “Isn’t it enough that Director Yuan is satisfied?”

Luo Qian nodded: “En, as long as the director is satisfied, I, too, think that’s good enough. It truly was better than the previous two takes.”

The two chatted for a while as they entered the hotel. Luo Qian confirmed with Rong Xu regarding the next evening’s flight before parting ways at the elevator.

After Rong Xu returned to his room, he washed up a bit, and because he was tipsy from drinking some alcohol, he quickly fell asleep. When he next opened his eyes, it was already noon.

With his left hand propping himself up on the large soft bed, the youth gradually woke up. Two of the buttons on his pajamas were loose and the clothes slid down with his movements, revealing a significant amount of his tender white shoulders. Rong Xu lowered his gaze and stared at the blanket quietly, seemingly yet to have regained awareness, until…… his phone suddenly began vibrating crazily.

His heart seized for a second and Rong Xu was instantly completely awake. He quickly picked up his phone, and suddenly saw more than 30 missed calls!

“Qin Cheng, why did you suddenly call me so many times……en, I’m still in Xiangshan, flying back to B City this evening, why…… You, wait, I don’t quite understand what you mean, I just finished yesterday. But, in two weeks, I’m joining another crew to film a work directed by Director Xu Sheng……”

A man’s deep, magnetic voice came through the phone: “Hengdian and Xiangshan are very close. Should I have an assistant drive over to pick you up?”

Rong Xu asked, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: “…… Can (it) really finish filming within two weeks?”

Qin Cheng said in a hushed voice: “It’s just the audition.”

Rong Xu didn’t reply to this statement. He laid back down on the bed and buried himself in the soft pillows, laughing softly: “You’re not giving me any time to rest, aren’t you afraid I’ll be exhausted?”

     “I believe in you.”

Just one phrase, “I believe in you”, made the smile lingering on Rong Xu’s lips deepen.

Qin Cheng having Rong Xu participate in the audition indicated that there were definitely not many scenes for that role, and Rong Xu would be able to finish filming all (the potential scenes) within two weeks. Moreover, he had said that he ‘believes in Rong Xu’, that is to say, he believed Rong Xu wouldn’t constantly NG, believed that Rong Xu would not be pressed for time (if he took up this film), and perhaps also believed in his own ability to take care of his beloved youth.

From outside the window came the sounds of bird calls as they echoed through the hills. Rong Xu’s eyes drooped, and the corners of his lips curved up: “Tonight, I want to see you.”

In Hengdian Film and Television City, a certain tall, handsome man suddenly paused his footsteps, his right hand holding a cell phone and his eyes trembling slightly.  A smile quietly  appeared on his face. A while later, he said in a low voice to the person on the other side (of the phone): “Okay.”

A minute later, Qin Cheng’s assistant set out directly from Hengdian World Studios and drove towards Xiangshan.

Brief description of Formalin: an aqueous solution of formaldehyde gas, generally used for preserving tissue samples, disinfecting surfaces, etc. Has a really strong smell 😦 colorless/light green/yellow in color. Formalin is a fixative, which means it prevents tissue breakdown and rot, and hardens tissues for easier processing. Hemoglobin (in red blood cells) gets converted to a tan color Hematin which is why preserved tissues are that weird green brown color. If you sit in an anatomy lab for a while, you’ll smell like it the whole day QWQ

WDBKFMGB Chapter 43 – Giving You a Name

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

He Ruge smelled the distinct aura of an incoming boss fight when the two new rare items appeared. He put away “Who is the murderer” and used the “Upgraded File Save Assistant” to change his last save point.

He still had one remaining chance to save anytime, anywhere [1]. The only limitation was that the file reading time would be considerably long.

He Ruge brushed through his library of knowledge. He would learn 300 nursery rhymes today and find a chance to sing it to all the cubs in the Ice Project. According to Ruan Ruan, even humming a few lines was effective. If he sang three times for each experimental subject, it should be able to improve their overall survival rate.

Advertisements

After thinking through his plans for the three Ice Project participation chances, He Ruge bought a piece of fruit candy, planning to feed it to the little monster.

He shouldn’t let physiological fear block his chances at petting a tiger.

Although the little monster had grown big enough that he should technically be called “big monster”, his temperament was still the same as a child’s. However, He Ruge still referred to him simply as the little monster because no matter how big the little monster grew, in He Ruge’s heart, he will forever be a little broken bear child.

He pushed open the door of Room 104 and saw the little monster laying on the bedding. The new bedding gifted yesterday was already almost too small for the little monster, and his whip-like tiger tail had to be closely attached to his butt in order to not fall off the side.

A pair of silver-white Zerg wings were strewn across the floor. When the little monster saw He Ruge, the Zerg wings unconsciously trembled lightly. The slight vibration of the wing tips was comparable to joy sprouting from the tip of one’s heart.

He Ruge supported himself with the wall and walked a few steps. Under the gaze of the fierce tiger eyes, he tried his best to maintain a facade of calmness and sat down half a meter from the little monster. He Ruge had never sat in such an upright posture before, back straight and shoulders desperately clenched, tensed until his collarbone felt like it was about to pop out.

“It seems we haven’t properly introduced each other before. My name is He Ruge, what is your name?” He Ruge asked. Since Little White Tiger was called Xi Guican, then the little monster must also have a name.

Calling the little monster a “little monster” in his heart was okay, but if he suddenly blurted out “little monster” while chatting, it would be extremely awkward. After all, “little monster” wasn’t exactly the same as calling him “little cutie”, and it always felt a little derogatory and disrespectful.

No one wished to be called a “monster” by others.

The little monster’s big head was pressed down on its two sharp claws, and his blue eyes were tilted upwards to look at He Ruge. From this angle, a trace of innocence seemed to shine through the otherwise fierce looking eyes.

He was silent for a while before saying with uncertainty: “I don’t seem to have a name.”

     No name?

How could he have no name? Did he perhaps forget his name? But the little monster did not go through brainwashing and shouldn’t have forgotten his own name.

“Is ‘A Name’, this kind of thing, important?” The youthful low and horse voice of a boy going through his voice changing period sounded out.

“Of course it’s important. Let me put it this way. If you didn’t know my name, how would you let me know to look backwards and find you in a bustling crowd?” He Ruge didn’t have a deeper  explanation, he only gave a hypothetical scenario of the simplest use for a name: “If you can’t find me, you can just call my name. If I hear it, I will definitely respond. Do you think a name is important?”

The little monster let out a thoughtful hum, “Then, you should give me one.”

     “Ah?”

Under He Ruge’s stunned gaze, the little monster said seriously: “Since a name is very important, you can give me one.”

“I don’t have this right. A name is a very important thing. I’m not your parent nor your master. How can I name you?”

The little monster replied: “But I don’t have parents, let alone a master.”

“Then you should give yourself one. My name was given to me by myself.” He Ruge didn’t want to help give the little monster a name because he always felt that naming was a matter of great significance (in one’s lifetime). It was giving someone a new life and identity, and also a responsibility that cannot be brushed off once accepted.

The little monster shook his head and whispered softly: “But, I always mess up important things. I’m so stupid. The name I come up with will definitely not be good.”

Such a large white tiger stood with its head bowed in the corner, appearing like a little cub.

“Everyone makes mistakes, no one person is born perfect at everything. It doesn’t matter if you mess something up, you can fix it if you know it’s wrong. If the name doesn’t sound good, there’s no need to worry, we can always change it.” He Ruge coaxed in a gentle voice.

However, the little monster refused to listen, pretending to be deaf and mute. A bad personality cannot be corrected overnight. After listening to He Ruge’s long tirade, the little monster stubbornly said: “You give me one.”

     He Ruge: “…”

Really want to twist this broken wild child’s ears and teach him a lesson.

He Ruge could only take a step back: “Then let’s do this, I’ll give you a nickname.”

The little monster tilted his head in confusion, “What’s a nickname?”

“It’s an informal name usually given to a child. People who are close can call each other by their nicknames. Once you grow up, you can choose your formal name by yourself.

The little monster furrowed his brows and retorted: “But I’m not a child.”

     He Ruge: “…”

Baby, do you think you are mature right now?

The little monster stared at his own big claws and fell into deep thought. After a while, he compromised and said, “fine, then what is my nickname?”

Little White (Xiao Bai)? Big White (Da Bai)? Dog egg (Gou Dan)? Fat tiger (Pang Hu)?

No, those all seem too incompatible. Actually, He Ruge thought “little devil” (Xiao huai huai), “Brute” (Xiong Xiong), and “Bitey” (Yao Yao) were all suitable for the little monster. But, a nickname should have a better connotation. They could go with “Miao Miao”.

(Miao Miao) sounded like meow meow, and this nickname contained a plethora of water[2], which could hopefully reduce little monster’s explosive, fiery temper.

     “How about Miao Miao?”

The little monster called out meow meow once and asked in confusion what it meant.

“Three water 水 characters combined make a Miao 淼. Stretch out your paws, I’ll draw it on your palms, okay?” He Ruge, who was originally only trying to explain the meaning of the word, suddenly noticed the two large fluffy paws and immediately decided to “grab” the opportunity to touch the little white tiger[3].

The little monster retracted his sharp claws and hesitantly reached out his big paws towards He Ruge. The firm, strong front paws were bigger than He Ruge’s two hands combined.

Viewed from an angle, the claws were like small snow-capped mountains, the lines from paw to arm were similar to the rise and fall of mountain tops. The thick, snow-white fur was shiny and smooth, and at a glance it was clear that this dense hair reflected a robust and fully furred tiger.

It must feel very nice and smooth……

He Ruge turned the little monster’s paws over using both hands so that the pink fleshy pad that was larger than his palms was facing upwards and visible before him. He Ruge’s hand touched the paw pad shakily. He gave the little monster’s dense, bouncy paw pads a few trembling pokes and examined the little monster’s reactions with a psychological shadow of guilt.

The little monster stared at He Ruge with a blank expression, “Write, ba, It doesn’t itch.”

When his fingertips landed on the paw pad and drew out the first stroke, the little monster suddenly exhaled, and his long tiger whiskers trembled along. This sudden movement made He Ruge reflexively retract his hand as he looked at the little monster, fearing that the little monster would bite him.

Seeing He Ruge’s frightened reaction, the little monster closed his mouth gloomily and was silent for a while before he said with a huff: “It doesn’t itch, and I…… also won’t bite you.”

He Ruge, who received a promise from the little monster, breathed a sigh of relief; his expression a bit sheepish. In truth, he also felt that his reaction was both offensive and hurtful. The little monster was willing to give him the pads of his paws, which was equivalent to a porcupine hiding all its quills, presenting its vulnerable flesh to another.

His actions definitely hurt the little monster’s heart.

He Ruge felt very remorseful when he considered this possibility. He quietly glanced at the morose little monster and decided to quickly make up for his mistake.

“Miao Miao.” He Ruge softly called out the little monster’s nickname. Under the little monster’s oblivious gaze, he gave a “kiss on the hand” onto the pink fleshy paw pad.

A thumb was placed on the paw pad, and pale pink lips kissed the finger, but from the little monster’s perspective, it looked like He Ruge was giving his palm a tender kiss.

Perhaps it was because this kiss was too soft, lighter than a feather and gentler than a breeze, and his own paws were too rough to feel this softness, the little monster didn’t even have enough time to feel it before the person in front of him already lifted his head and gave a crescent-eyed smile.

“Miao Miao~” he called out with a laugh.

The little monster stared at He Ruge in a daze, and his tiger ears trembled as if it were being tickled.

He seems to have…… somewhat understood the importance of a ‘Name’. Having a name that belonged to oneself, a name that could be called gently by the person in front of him, was indeed a very, very good thing.

If time could stop at this moment, then there would no longer be a monster in the world, only Miao Miao.

When He Ruge saw that the little monster looked happy again, his heart relaxed and he continued to write “Miao” stroke by stroke on his paw pad.

“Miao Miao, means I hope you can be gentle as water.” He Ruge explained.

The little monster stared at the center of his paws, his paws still seemed to contain a tingling itch. He shook his tiger ears and said to He Ruge: “Then, I’ll only be gentle to you, okay?”

     A big, gentle kitty?

He Ruge smiled and said: “Okay.”

He seemed to have found some joy in raising the little monster, too. The violent and fierce little monster, the little monster who was used to tearing apart his prey with sharp claws, would only bow his head for him, would only allow him to touch his paws and belly, and only allow him to pet. The overall feeling was one simple word —

     Satisfied.

Although he could only touch his paws and didn’t dare touch his head, He Ruge still found a mysterious sense of happiness. He refrained from continuing to pinch his paws and said to the little monster: “Then, let me sing a song for Miao Miao.”

The little monster perked up his ears in anticipation.

He could test the golden finger on the little monster; plus, He Ruge really wanted to sing for the obedient little monster.

     What song would be best?

Looking at the little monster’s sky-like blue eyes, He Ruge suddenly remembered the night he took the little white tiger and the little rabbit to see the starry skies. The starry sky that evening was like a jewelry box tipped over onto a sheet of black velvet. The stars were dazzling and beautiful without compare.

“Twinkling and sparkling, a sky filled with stars hanging in the sky to shine, like thousands of tiny dazzling eyes.”[4]

The little monster lay quietly on the bedding and listened to the singing of the people in front of him. He stared fixedly at He Ruge’s eyes which seemed to light up, and his mind pictured a brilliant expanse of starry sky.

“The sun slowly sinks to the west, and the crows slowly fly home in groups [5]. The stars blink their little eyes, twinkling and shining until dawn.”

Everyone had become a star, whether it was Golden Python, Little Rabbit, Crow, or the experimental subjects who had followed after Crow. They flew up to the stars and no longer had to endure the struggles of the world.

“Twinkle twinkle little star, a sky filled with stars hanging in the sky to shine……”

All the feelings of pain fell into a deep slumber. It was a sense of peace and comfort the little monster had never felt before. His blue eyes gradually closed, and he quietly fell asleep.

SA Chapter 89 (Part 1) – Maze City, Complete~

The donation event poll is up and running. If you have a moment, please take some time to check it out and leave feedback (even if you don’t plan to donate! The poll will also determine where the site’s ad revenue will go to. ^u^)

From beginning to end, Maze City took only 2 months to film.

For an action, suspense movie, the filming of this work went very smoothly. Among the cast members, except for Ren Shuzhi’s acting skills being common, the two leading actors who had the most scenes performed well and rarely NG’d. Director Yuan also didn’t expect the filming to be completed one week earlier than expected. But even so, the crew members didn’t dare slack off.

Rong Xu was the first to arrive at the crew, and Bo Xiwen was the second. Within half an hour, the sky gradually brightened, and Director Yuan and other staff members entered the set one after another to prepare for the last few scenes.

Advertisements

In the scenes filmed yesterday, the criminal had already been apprehended and brought to justice. The criminal had crazily repeated the phrase “they deserved to die” and in the end, the judge made the final decision and sentenced him to the death penalty.

The serial murder cases that haunted Hai Cheng for more than a year were finally over. Tan Yangxuan received a high-level honor and was promoted to Bureau Captain. Xue Jiazhe returned to school and continued to teach every day as the youngest professor.

Everything seemed to have come to a close, until one day, while Xue Jiazhe was in class, a tall and handsome man sneaked in through the back door of the classroom hunched over. When he saw this scene, Xue Jiazhe’s words paused, and the “student” who sneaked into the classroom smiled and waved at him with white toothed grin.

At the podium, the genteel and handsome man smiled slightly before continuing his lecture.

That was the scene filmed yesterday. Today, Tan Yangxuan would look for Xue Jiazhe after class.

Similar to the beginning of the movie, Professor Xue was quite poisonous to this old classmate of his, but this time, Tan Yangxuan gave a small laugh: “No cases. Where would so many cases come from? I can’t come see you if there aren’t any cases?”

The eyes of all the crew members were gathered on the center of the set. There, the cold and elegant young professor raised his eyebrows and said quietly: “You came to see me?” No matter how one listened, the end of his tone carried a hint of laughter.

In the past two months of performing, Rong Xu had practically completely become Xue Jiazhe.

Whenever the camera started running, as long as he stood there, one would never connect this individual with the gentle and friendly Rong Xu. He was calm and indifferent, seemingly polite, but distanced himself from everyone. A pair of apathetic eyes were hidden behind the frames of his glasses, appearing as though he could see through everyone’s mind.

Except for this old classmate of his, he never truly laughed for anyone else.

Facing Xue Jiazhe’s almost sarcastic rhetorical question, Tan Yangxuan smiled heartily and grabbed his friend as he walked.

They bought a ton of beer and then went to Xue Jiazhe’s apartment to drink together. It was pretty much only Tan Yangxuan drinking. Xue Jiazhe drank little, and when he (felt he) drank too much, he (stopped and) listened to this old classmate reminisce about the past.

“I remember when I first entered the school, all the girls in the class liked you…… Oh that’s not right, all the girls in the school liked you. I was so jealous, haha. Not just me though, Liu Zi, Er Chen, were also jealous of you. How come so many beautiful senior sisters and underclassmen were attracted to you, such a waste[1]

Xue Jiazhe drank beer calmly and said: “It is such a waste.”

Tan Yangxuan didn’t have the capacity to care about him, having long since gone dizzy in his drunken state. He continued to talk: “In my junior year, I didn’t expect my old man would force me to drop out of school to take the police academy exam, otherwise, I would be the same as you guys, a white-collar worker. Being a professor is also pretty good……”

Xue Jiazhe lifted his hand to push up his glasses, and his thin lips slightly curved upwards: “Actually, it might be difficult for you to become a university professor.”

Hearing those words, Tan Yangxuan suddenly put down his beer bottle and leaned in towards Xue Jiazhe. This scene was captured in the eyes of all the staff members (standing) next to the set, as their eyes widened one by one, staring intently in concentration.

This scene, at current, was on its third take. Bo Xiwen was already painted with a ‘drunken’ makeup and fully presented the behaviors of a drunkard, but Director Yuan wasn’t satisfied. This was the last scene, but the scene couldn’t be shot smoothly, which caused a headache for everyone in the crew.

Now, Bo Xiwen again leaned towards Rong Xu, staring straight at his old classmate like an old ruffian. His cheeks were red tinged, and his eyes were squinted. He stared at Rong Xu as if he could see through him. After staring for a long time, he suddenly laughed and asked: “Am I really that stupid…… “

Up until this point in the plot, none of the audience members knew that Xue Jiazhe was the real serial murderer. Those words spoken by Tan Yangxuan just now were actually a flash of inspiration by the screenwriter and changed last minute. Yesterday, when they changed the script, (the scriptwriter) had said specifically: “This is a double entendre. Take a guess, does he know who is the real murderer?”

Perhaps even the screenwriter himself didn’t know the answer. Logically, according to Tan Yangxuan’s character, he really shouldn’t know that Xue Jiazhe was the murderer, otherwise he would definitely bring the other party to justice.

But perhaps, there was always an intuitive sense deep in his heart that told him Xue Jiazhe was the murderer. It’s just that he himself didn’t even know, and only when he was drunk would he subconsciously say such words.

However, hearing those words, the pair of phoenix eyes hidden behind the glasses slightly flickered, but Xue Jiazhe’s tender face didn’t fluctuate.

Following that was the part Director Yuan continuously NG’d.

Every time Rong Xu finished that particular line, Director Yuan would unsatisfactorily (call out an) NG, yet no one could tell what was wrong with it. Director Yuan himself only felt it wasn’t good enough, and if you asked him, he couldn’t suggest ways to improve it either.

Many staff members were already sighing in their hearts, expecting another NG.

However, they watched on as Rong Xu slightly tilted the corners of his lips, revealing a helpless smile. So far, there was no difference between this scene and the previous two NG scenes, but it was at exactly the next moment when he suddenly stretched out his right hand and patted Bo Xiwen’s short, frizzy hair. He gently shook his head and said with a smile: “I don’t know if you’re stupid, but Ah Xuan, teaching and educating people is a very exhausting and heavy responsibility. I shouldn’t be bearing this, this responsibility…… and neither should you carry it.”

Among the onlookers, Luo Qian’s eyes slowly widened.

Yellow Ferret looked blankly into space silently, as if gazing at a person who would never return[1]. After a long while, he brought He Ruge to the staff dormitory and then said to He Ruge: “My name is Huang Ding Xu. Speak, Why are you looking for me.”

“To save people.” He Ruge said without hesitation.

     “Save who?”

“All the experimental subjects of the Ice Project.”

Yellow Ferret examined He Ruge from top to bottom and sneered: “Just because you say so? Do you know what terrifying organization is controlling the Starry Sea Orphanage? A mayfly wishes to shake a tree, and a mantis wishes to block a car with its arms, but will never succeed.”

“Because I could awaken your memories and because I have other cards left on the table.” He Ruge paused and looked straight into Yellow Ferret’s eyes. “And it’s not only me; there’s also you. I know that the organization behind Starry Sea Orphanage is terrifying, so I’m not asking you to take action. You just need to let me participate in the Ice Project like normal. Saving people will be my responsibility.”

“What exactly is your identity?” Yellow Ferret asked.

Of course, He Ruge could never tell Yellow Ferret that he was a player, so he pretended to be mysterious and said: “You don’t need to know who I am, just know I wish to save people.”

“If Scorpion finds out through the monitor room that I let you in, we will both die.” Yellow Ferret’s (attitude) was so calm that it was almost cold-blooded.

“I can block the monitors.” Hearing these words, Yellow Ferret’s pursed lips moved slightly. He was silent for a while before saying slowly: “Even if the monitors were blocked, there would be many unexpected situations. Sorry, I am someone who’s selfish and afraid of death.”

He Ruge’s heart sank. He thought that Yellow Ferret would be like Crow, full of hatred for the Starry Sea Orphanage and couldn’t wait to risk his life in order to blow up this broken orphanage.

A rare prop item was wasted in exchange for this kind of result?

His mind was a bit messy as He Ruge turned around and walked out of this room slowly.

Don’t be discouraged, complaining (after the fact) was the most useless thing. It was him who didn’t think things through beforehand ……

“……Wait a minute.” Yellow Ferret’s call came from behind.

He Ruge turned back and saw Yellow Ferret’s complicated expression: “Can you really block the monitors?”

After He Ruge nodded, Yellow Ferret squatted down and pillowed his head in his hands. He desperately grabbed at his hair and said with a tone of great determination: “Three times. I’ll only allow you to participate in the Ice Project three times.” Bloodshot veins covered his slightly yellow eyes and Yellow Ferret gritted his teeth: “Siren, I am a small person.

     “Apologies.”

Receiving Yellow Ferret’s promise, He Ruge breathed a sigh of relief. Although only being able to participate in the Ice Project three times sounded very little, it was still much better than not being able to participate at all.

Now, (he had to figure out) a plan for those three participation opportunities, and the first thing he needed to know was how to help the Ice Project’s experimental subjects survive.

There were a total of 20 experimental subjects in the Ice Project session that He Ruge participated in. Upon the conclusion of the experiment, only the little rabbit and the little white tiger survived.

Why did Little Rabbit and Little White Tiger survive? The little white tiger was the main capture target character of this romance game and was also a monster who will eventually destroy everything. Thus, no matter what he experienced, the little white tiger would survive till the end, just like the protagonist’s halo of invincibility.

Therefore, he shouldn’t consider the little white tiger. Instead, he had to understand why the little rabbit could survive. Was there something special about the little rabbit?

He Ruge walked to the staff accommodations on the first floor and opened up his backpack, staring at the little Goblin Ball.

  If you don’t understand, ask.

Though he didn’t want to wake Little Rabbit if he could help it, this was an important business matter, so it was time to bother the cute little rabbit for a bit!

The little Goblin Ball that was barely as big as his palm was laying in He Ruge’s hand. The little rabbit was sleeping soundly with his eyes closed, and his long rabbit ears covered his eyes like a sleeping mask.

He Ruge stretched out a finger and cautiously poked the little Goblin Ball. The Goblin Ball swayed like a Daruma, but the little rabbit inside just wouldn’t wake up.

“Ruan Ruan?” He Ruge called out softly.

The two little rabbit ears didn’t hear anything outside the glass, only concerned with continuing his lazing nap. No matter how He Ruge called or poked, he was still dead asleep.

A confused He Ruge clicked on the Goblin Ball’s status and examined the phrase “Go, Pikachu!” back and forth three times.

……Impossible, this broken game wouldn’t be this shameless, right. Was it really necessary to yell out this kind of middle-schooler line to wake up little goblin Ruan Ruan?

To call or not to call was the question.

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

Actually, this line wasn’t particularly shameful. At any rate, it wasn’t “I choose you, Rabbit Ruan Ruan!” A gentleman didn’t nitpick such trivial matters. Besides, there was nobody nearby; shouting slogans for the greater cause in a place unseen by others wasn’t a big deal.

     “Ahem. Go, Pikachu!” (TM)

Two rabbit ears lazily perked upright, and (Ruan Ruan) let out a long yawn. He rubbed his slightly red eyes and looked at He Ruge sleepily.

Then, he was shocked by He Ruge who suddenly became a “giant” and very literally “jumped in shock”.

Ruan Ruan was so startled he jumped out of the Goblin Ball and stood in He Ruge’s palm as he stammered: “wa, waaa, you, you are…… Siren?!” Even his originally fluttering wings came to a standstill as Ruan Ruan looked up at He Ruge stupidly.

The thumb-sized little goblin Ruan Ruan warmed He Ruge’s heart.

He Ruge even lightened his tone and calmed the shocked Ruan Ruan, saying warmly: “En, it’s me.”

Waaaa~ Siren!” Little wings flapped excitedly and Ruan Ruan flew in front of He Ruge’s face, glomping onto He Ruge’s ear and gave a kiss. He said happily: “Siren, Siren, Siren! I really really wanted to see you~ I’ve been staying with mommy and daddy, but I couldn’t see Siren no matter how I looked.”

He Ruge cupped his hand under his ear, for fear that Ruan Ruan would accidentally fall off of his ear if he wasn’t careful: “I also missed Ruan Ruan.”

“This time, there is something I want to ask Ruan Ruan; Ruan Ruan must answer me seriously, okay. If your answer is good, I’ll give Ruan Ruan a fruit candy that’s even bigger than half your size, okay?”

The temptation of a super-sized fruit candy was extremely high, and Ruan Ruan desperately nodded, agreeing continuously.

“Can Ruan Ruan tell me, when you were in the isolated room and put on the metal helmet, did your head hurt after wearing it; how uncomfortable was it? Was it always uncomfortable, or did it suddenly one day not feel uncomfortable anymore?”

Ruan Ruan grew tired from flying and directly sat on He Ruge’s palm as he replied earnestly: “When I first put on that helmet, my head would hurt. Not only did my head hurt but my whole body also hurt. It was so painful I wanted to die. But later, ah……”

A pair of red agate eyes sparkled as it lingered on He Ruge. Ruan Ruan spoke sweetly: “After Siren sang for me, my head didn’t hurt much anymore.”

     Sang?

He Ruge was taken aback when he heard those words. He had sung for the little rabbit before, but it was when “Your Exclusive Lover” was not yet a holographic game, and there was no voice communication function when interacting with the NPCs. At that time, he had casually hummed a few words into the screen. Was his singing somehow captured by the game?

“Then does Ruan Ruan remember what song I sang at that time?” He Ruge himself couldn’t explain his current emotions as he waited in anticipation for Ruan Ruan’s answer.

Ruan nodded vigorously and proudly said: “Of course I remember! Ruan Ruan is quite smart~” He swayed his head along as he began to sing: “Good little bunny, open the door~ Quickly, quickly, open up, I want to come in~[2]

     He Ruge was stunned speechless.

So, that is to say, when he talked into the screen initially, all the NPCs in the game could hear him? This discovery was truly illogical and yet somehow within expectations. After all, even a holographic game appeared. There was nothing this broken game couldn’t do.

“No, no, I won’t open. Mother’s not back yet, I won’t open~” Ruan Ruan, who was singing happily abruptly froze. He looked left and right and whispered: “Where’s mother? Where’s my mother?”

“Mother had to go out for something and will be back soon. Don’t be afraid, Ruan Ruan.” He Ruge put Ruan Ruan back into the little Goblin Ball and then spent a little heart to buy a fruit candy, putting the fruit candy together (with the Little Rabbit) into the little Goblin Ball.

He gently touched Ruan Ruan’s head with his fingertips, and said softly: “Ruan Ruan did very good this time. Thank you, Ruan Ruan. Ruan Ruan can hold the candy and have a good rest now. I wish you a sweet night’s dream.”

When Ruan Ruan returned to the Goblin Ball, sleepiness swept over him, and the little rabbit gave a mumbled Bye Bye before falling into deep sleep.

He Ruge looked at the Goblin Ball in his palm and sighed softly. Through this dialogue with Ruan Ruan, he realized that his golden finger in this game might be “Singing”.

And his true identity really was a Merperson.

This game had many inexplicable blood-chilling and terrifying details.

His bloodline pattern would burn when it encountered the little monster, and 8Legs had once said that only when a monster encountered its natural enemy, would their bloodline pattern transmit warning signals.

If he encountered a tiger monster in reality, it was normal for the bloodline pattern to glow. However, he had encountered the little monster in a game. Was this holographic game so realistic that it could even confuse the “Monster bloodline pattern”?

Although He Ruge didn’t fully understand ‘Monsters’, he still had some knowledge of “merpeople.” From ancient to present times, regardless of Chinese and Western mythology, stereotypes of Mermaids, Sirens, and Naiads included “A beautiful face” and “A moving singing voice.”

Thus, was the golden finger given by the game just a coincidence, or was it related to his identity? If it is really related to his identity, then this game was truly too unfathomable. The more he thought about it, the more surprised he became, and He Ruge suddenly recalled the rare prop item he had pulled before: The “Fate’s Calling Card”.

The item had said he had a “Koi’s fate”. [3]

Were there really this many coincidences?

All the NPCs in the game also had flesh and blood. With everything being so realistic, was this really just a game?

He Ruge put the Goblin Ball away and stopped thinking about these problems that were making him go bald. Since 8Legs already said that he is an explosively lucky Koi Merperson and will not personally encounter any unfortunate situations, he will just regard this game as an opportunity. After all, he had already developed an attachment to No. 20 and many of the other characters in the game. To force him to stop playing this game, he couldn’t do it either.

As the saying went, blessings were not a curse, while misfortunes cannot be avoided. He should just cherish his time playing games. Being human, achieving happiness was the most important thing.

Thinking of the Fate’s Calling Card, He Ruge realized that he hadn’t opened up any Pink Gacha Eggs in the past few days, so he pulled out two rare items in one go.

[Name]: Who is the Murderer [4]

     [Quality]: Rare

[Evaluation]: Fish-lipped mortals[5], can you guess which bastard started the Starry Sea Orphanage? Can you tell the difference between the puppet and the mastermind? There is always only one truth, and the murderer is not him!

[How to use]: Use this item on someone you think is the murderer, and “Who is the Murderer” will tell you “yes” or “no”

—–

     [Name]: Upgraded File Save Assistant

     [Quality]: Rare

[Evaluation]: Don’t you think the original file save option is too restrictive? It can only be activated under certain conditions. After using this upgraded assistant, you can save anytime, anywhere

[Limitations]: The loading time for saved files will be very long~

Although He Ruge’s right hand, which had been bitten by the little monster, was sprayed (with the medical spray) to stop the bleeding, the wound itself didn’t heal, and pain sensation inside the holographic game was 100% retained. He contemplated for a bit and decided to go to the infirmary to find out the Medicine-seeking rat.

Using the universal key card rare prop, He Ruge arrived at the infirmary without a hitch.

The Medicine-seeking rat was sitting on his desk, the light brain screen on his neck projected into the darkness. The Medicine-seeking rat’s two small paws were dexterously tapping away on the keyboard; it seemed he was organizing information.

Upon seeing He Ruge, the light screen disappeared from the air. When the Medicine-seeking rat found that He Ruge didn’t have any cubs in his arms, he said slowly: “Getting a checkup for yourself this time?”

He Ruge struck speechless by the Totoro-looking Medicine-seeking rat’s cuteness. He repressed his internal excitement with difficulty as he nodded and said: “Yes, my hand was injured by a bite.”

Advertisements

The Medicine-seeking rat saw the bandage wrapped around He Ruge’s hand and couldn’t help but remark ruthlessly: “Wrapped so hideously.” He waved over at He Ruge with his small paw. When he saw the wound behind the bandage, the Medicine-seeking rat furrowed his brows. “Bit so viciously. This bite mark…… Why did No.20 suddenly bite you? This shouldn’t be. Even if he was brainwashed, he would be instilled with the organization’s mandates and would not casually harm the organization’s people.”

Small, black eyes exuded an icy chill, and the Medicine-seeking rat said in a low voice: “It couldn’t be that you bullied him first, ba?”

He Ruge: “……”

I feel more wronged than Dou E. [1]

Seeing He Ruge’s expression, the Medicine-seeking rat’s icy gaze warmed slightly: “You don’t seem like that type of person.” He coughed lightly and slumped tiredly on the robotic arm. His small, black bean-like eyes looked quietly at the ceiling: “Actually, when I was still doing research on the (existence of) the spiritual sea of consciousness, I kept returning to one fundamental question.

“If the psychical body is the container for one’s spiritual sea of consciousness, then is the source of a person’s ‘existence’ their consciousness or their body itself?”

“The spiritual sea of consciousness is not only directly connected to our memories, but also closely related to one’s genetics. What the brainwashing experiment changes is only the most superficial layer of memories. Perhaps it doesn’t even change it, just initiates a simple seal (over it). But, is there a hint of possibility that the spiritual sea overall surpasses our conscious cognitive ability and level of understanding, such that when we make changes to the so-called ‘surface layer of memories’, we had actually already delved into the foundation of genetics.

“It’s just that we never knew and yet are complacent of our superficial level of knowledge.”

The Medicine-seeking rat seemed extremely tired. He closed his eyes and whispered softly: “The last staff member responsible for injecting the genetic medicine for No.20 died unexpectedly the day before yesterday. Through the monitoring room, I saw the brainwashed No. 20.

“It’s like the person completely changed to someone else.

“Have you noticed any changes to No.20 after his brainwashing?”

Naturally, the change was that the previous Little White Tiger turned into the little monster, but He Ruge would never say such. He considered his words before replying: “His character has become more volatile.”

The Medicine-seeking rat muttered and repeated: “Character, huh.”

“Say, if a person loses their original memories and their personality changes drastically, but they still live in their original body, are they still their original selves?” The Medicine-seeking rat suddenly opened his eyes and asked.

This question was similar to Little White Tiger and Little Monster’s (situation). After being brainwashed, the little white tiger fell asleep, and the little monster woke up to occupy the body. Then, was the little monster still the original No.20?

The little white tiger was like ice, while the little monster was like fire.

He Ruge thought of the Theory of the Ship of Theseus. Assuming that the constituent elements of an object are replaced, is the end result still the (same as the) original object? [2]

“It should…… not count, ba.” He Ruge hesitated.

“If you were given two options: one is to let another person stay in a coma-like state and never wake up again, while the other is to make the other forget everything and cause their personality to change completely and start anew, but when you choose the second, the other person’s original personality and memories may never return, which one would you choose?” The Medicine-seeking rat asked.

Two choices seemed to appear in front of him. One was to let the little white tiger continue sleeping, and the game ends. Another option was the little monster appearing and the game continuing, but the little white tiger would never appear again.

     Which would he choose?

There was a long period of silence. Until the Medicine-seeking rat finished changing He Ruge’s wrappings, He Ruge still didn’t give a response.

“I used to think that what I was doing, although violating secular ethics, was worth the results. But, the moment I turned my back and walked to the other end of the shore without a care, I realized that the end product was not what I had desired.” The Medicine-seeking rat laughed self-mockingly.

[Di– Side Quest “Mysterious Infirmary”, completion 45%

The medicine-seeking rat grandpa loves cubs, is a skilled old doctor, and likes cleanliness. He is responsible for researching the spiritual sea of consciousness at the Starry Sea Orphanage, but once his research made new progress, grandpa medicine-seeking rat was not happy. Why? 】

Leaving the infirmary, He Ruge walked downstairs from Floor E, and at foot of the stairs on Floor B, he ran into Yellow Ferret. Yellow Ferret was carrying a handful of cubs, and it appeared that he was preparing to start a new round of the Ice Project. When the two old acquaintances met, the atmosphere was slightly awkward. Yellow Ferret raised his eyebrows and said: “Oh, you’re actually still alive.”

His gaze fell upon He Ruge’s bandaged hand: “It looks like you aren’t doing too well.” His tone was highly gloating.

He Ruge didn’t even glance at Yellow Ferret. Instead, his gaze was fixed on the frightened cubs. For a brief moment, he seemed to have an illusion that these cubs were the same batch of experimental subjects he had taken care of in Room B6.

     The same naivety.

These cubs who still had the strength to cry and the curiosity to sneak peaks at him would soon one by one turn into cold corpses left in a small, dark room.

In the beginning, “Your Exclusive Lover” was just a 3D romance game to him. Although (back then) He Ruge knew that those cubs had ‘died’, because he was separated by a screen, their deaths didn’t truly impact him.

If it wasn’t realistic, it wouldn’t be too painful, and the occasional thoughts of (wanting to) “rescue” (the characters) would also dissipate quickly.

Perhaps, the moment he believed in his heart that this was simply a romance game, he had already determined his stance——

     No.20’s exclusive lover.

He wasn’t a savior. The only one he could rescue was No. 20. Those were He Ruge’s previous thoughts.

However, at this very instance, when he came face to face with the cubs’ timid eyes inside the iron cage, their slightly undulating bellies and little paws that didn’t know where to stand, all of his (previous) thoughts suddenly began to change.

If he continued to keep silent, continued to be indifferent, then in this game, besides the identity of being “No. 20’s Exclusive Lover”, what kind of existence was he——

     An executioner?

A ghost who lures others in to share the same fate?[3]

     Or a cold-blooded, emotionless bystander?

He Ruge suddenly felt his hands and feet turn cold as he realized a very cruel conclusion.

His silence would be the last mound of dirt that buried these subjects.

What’s the difference between this kind of him and Yellow Ferret, Scorpion, and Crow before his memory was restored? No.20 had (He Ruge) to rescue him, but then should the other experimental subjects just die in vain? These cubs were so small that they didn’t even know what death meant yet.

Although (he didn’t undergo) a brainwashing experiment, he had unknowingly become the type of person he hated the most.

“I have something to talk to you about later.” He Ruge clenched his fists, trying to maintain a steady voice as he spoke to Yellow Ferret.

Yellow Ferret gave He Ruge a strange glance and muttered: “I don’t think we have anything to talk about between us.” But, even as he said that, Yellow Ferret still walked over with an impatient expression after settling the experimental subjects, “What is it?”

After He Ru spent one Little Heart and blocked the cameras in the corridor, he looked directly into Yellow Ferret’s eyes and asked: “What is your name?

“What I’m asking isn’t your codename, but your real name.”

Yellow-brown pupils clouded over, and the Yellow Ferret scratched his head in confusion, “Name?”

The palm of his hand grasped his yellow hair and tugged on it to the point where his hair was almost pulled out, “My……name?”

“I, I don’t know.”

Yellow Ferret, who always acted like an indifferent slacker, grasped his hair and stood there blankly. He looked like a rebellious teenager who did something wrong, muttering continuously: “I don’t know.”

Sure enough, Yellow Ferret had also experienced the brainwashing experiment.

Perhaps most of the staff at Starry Sea Orphanage had undergone the brainwashing experiment. This point wasn’t too difficult to determine, wasn’t it?

But then, why did it feel so uncomfortable this time around? He Ruge gave a trembling sigh and took out the rare prop item “Xi Xing’s Blessing”[4] from his backpack.

The outer appearance of this rare item was a shining star. It was a prop that could awaken good memories.

He Ruge had previously contemplated when and on whom he would use this prop. If Little White Tiger forgets him after he wakes up, this prop would have been his final (clutch) card.

Little White Tiger’s level of goodwill towards him was a solid 100, so the memories of them together should all be good memories. Little White Tiger could also use those memories to remember him.

But …… please forgive his willfulness. He was too greedy. Not only did he want Little White Tiger, want No. 20, but also wanted to rescue all the experimental subjects in the Starry Sea Orphanage who were part of the Ice Project.

He Ruge knew that, according to the game’s original plotline, No.20 would eventually become a monster and destroy the Starry Sea Orphanage. At that time, when all the bad guys die, the experimental subjects would also be freed. But, this “eventually” would come too slow and too late. When the long overdue “eventually” finally arrived, how many experimental subjects from the Ice Project, Death God’s Wings, and Destruction Plan would survive?

Did they want him to solely regard himself as “No. 20’s Exclusive lover” and coldly watch the deaths of all the experimental subjects in the Starry Sea Orphanage?

     Sorry, he couldn’t do that.

Maybe his choice right now was naïve, maybe he would be too occupied with living to save even a single experimental subject until the end of his busy life, and maybe in the end, the bamboo basket meant for carrying water would return empty…… [5]

[Yes/No use “Xi Xing’s Blessing” to Yellow Ferret]

     【Yes】

     【No】

Maybe, if he went through with this, he might regret it in the future, but if he didn’t, he would regret it for life.

Choosing [Yes], at least, in this moment, he was happy.

    *

Throughout a person’s lifetime, one would have made many happy memories. For example, the year he peeped on his neighboring sister taking a shower. Before he even had time to wipe his snot and tears after being caught, he raised my head and said to his neighbor sister that he would definitely marry her as his wife in the future.

The neighbor sister wrapped herself in a bath towel and wiped his snot bubble with her wet hand as she said with a smile, How are you this piss small and already such a pervert.

On his birthday, there was his favorite roasted whole chicken on the table, and he made a wish towards the egg-shaped birthday cake, I wish to marry Sister Hua Hua in the future.

The neighbor sister laughed and said, Little Ding Xu, then you must grow up quickly, you can marry this sister after you grow up.

During the first Intergalactic Wars, the neighbor sister kissed him on his forehead before she left, and she said softly, when this sister comes back, she will already be an old girl. Will Little Ding Xu still marry me?

Huang Ding Xu opened his eyes and said along with the overlapping image of the ignorant little boy in his memories: “I’m willing.”

Perhaps it was because he was too embarrassed about what happened the previous night – not kissing was fine, but just one kiss bred an addiction, and they dove into another kiss four or five times – but Rong Xu didn’t go to bed until three o’clock in the morning, and he had to leave the apartment at five in the morning. Before heading out, he had hesitantly walked up to Qin Cheng’s door, contemplating whether or not he should just take the opportunity and slip away.

After thinking for a long time, he ended up shaking his head and turned around, wanting to run. But, in the next second, the door abruptly opened from the inside. Rong Xu turned his head astonishment, but before he could even see the other party’s face clearly, his lips suddenly became hot.

The kiss was very light. Once the kiss ended, Rong Xu raised his eyes and saw the man wearing a set of dark pajamas and gazing down at him sullenly.

Advertisements

The corners of his lips couldn’t help but lift up, and Rong Xu said with a smile: “I have to return to S city to film.”

Qin Cheng gave a light nod: “En, I’m also going back to film, too. My flight’s in the afternoon.”

Neither of them spoke. After a bit, Rong Xu whispered: “After finishing up this film, I may have to take another film. I’ll only have a few days to rest.”

Qin Cheng’s lips pursed. A while after, he sighed: “Xiao Xu…”

Rong Xu raised his head to look at him.

In the next moment, his waist was embraced by the other man, and a pair of hot lips tightly met his own. Rong Xu’s eyes widened, but he gradually closed his eyes and released the hand holding his suitcase, lifting his arms to embrace the man in front of him.

The morning sun rose from the eastern horizon, and the bright sunshine shone into the house through the tall floor-to-ceiling windows. The light illuminated the young man, making him appear ephemeral and beautiful. He closed his eyes, slightly tilted his head, and gently returned his lover’s kiss.

The kiss was feather soft with a touch of tenderness and love.

As he was leaving the apartment, Rong Xu deliberated momentarily, but still decided to wear a mask before heading out. Qin Cheng initially wanted to send him downstairs, but Rong Xu whispered through a mask: “Brother Luo is downstairs.”

The implication was that it wasn’t convenient.

Qin Cheng pondered for a moment and compromised to send the youth to the elevator entrance.

The elevator doors pulled apart to both sides from the middle. One person stood outside the elevator and another stood on the inside as they stared at each other deeply. Time stretched out infinitely long before the elevator door finally closed, and Rong Xu pulled down the mask and stroked his slightly reddened lips. A minute later, he put his mask back on while getting out of the elevator and directly found Luo Zhentao, who had been waiting downstairs for a while.

When Luo Zhentao saw Rong Xu, he was also taken aback: “Caught a cold?”

Rong Xu smiled and nodded: “Maybe a bit, so I’m wearing a mask first to prevent it from spreading to you all.”

Luo Zhentao didn’t think too much about it and directly drove Rong Xu to the airport. Luo Qian was already waiting for them at the airport. This time, it was still Luo Qian who was accompanying (Rong Xu) to the crew to take care of him (Rong Xu). Luo Zhentao would continue to stay in B city to handle other things. When Luo Qian saw Rong Xu, she also asked in surprise if he had a cold. The youth smiled calmly and replied without a flutter in his heartbeat: “En, I have a cold.”

The next day, when Rong Xu saw Luo Qian’s handmade cold nourishment soup, he could only: “……”

Luo Qian said enthusiastically: “Xiao Xu, you still have to film. Those cold medications all have side effects, and it’s not good. My grandmother was a long-time Chinese doctor, very professional. I’ve been drinking this medicinal soup since childhood!”

     Rong Xu: “……”

This was the so-called ‘disasters brought by oneself cannot be escaped’. Before drinking the bitter medicinal soup that night, Rong Xu secretly took a picture and sent it to a certain man.

Qin Cheng replied very quickly: [? 】

The young man replied very calmly: [I learned something new recently. I will make it for you to drink the next time I return home.】

Seeing this line of words, Qin Cheng’s eyes fluttered slightly, his sight lingering on the words “return home” for a long time.

     [Qin Cheng: Okay. 】

The craze built up by the Feitian Awards lasted for a full two days. Two days later, a piece of societal news diverted the attention of the netizens, and the awards ceremony furor caused by Qin Cheng and Rong Xu finally came to a conclusion.

At the same time, the filming for Maze City also gradually came to a close. As for the crew of The Embroiderer, they didn’t hold a public opening ceremony nor disclose any related news.

Not a single fan knew that Old Liu, who had been away (from the industry) for many years, was once again collaborating with Qin Cheng to shoot a blockbuster film.

At the end of May two weeks later, Rong Xu attended the Golden Bell Awards Ceremony in S city. This time, it was no longer Qin Cheng who presented him the award, but rather a well-known veteran TV Emperor within the industry. The other party passed over the trophy for Best Supporting Actor in a serious manner, and when he congratulated and hugged (Rong Xu), he gave a kind smile: “I’ve watched Black Clouds, keep up the good work.”

Rong Xu was slightly surprised, but he chuckled and politely replied: “Thank you.”

A capable newcomer would inevitably be valued and respected by others. If you respected others, others would likewise respect you. If you respected their work, then you would gain the respect (of everyone involved). Although there were naturally small-minded people like Han Yanghao and Deng Yiwen within the circle who went off the wrong end, there were plenty more people who truly worked hard.

The end of the Golden Bell Awards gave Rong Xu a new wave of popularity, and on the night the awards ceremonies ended, he had to go straight back to the crew. The following day, Maze City was to film its final scene.

Ma Qi and Ren Shuzhi already left the crew as early as two days prior, and among the main actors, only Rong Xu and Bo Xiwen have not yet finished (their scenes).

Early the (next) morning, Rong Xu arrived at the crew while it was still dark out and carefully studied the script for the final few scenes. He didn’t wait long before Bo Xiwen also showed up in the dark. When the two met, Bo Xiwen looked at Rong Xu in surprise, but Rong Xu smiled and waved at him, saying: “Want to practice scenes?”

Bo Xiwen immediately nodded : “Okay!”

Actors who diligently worked hard would receive others’ respect – such as Rong Xu and Bo Xiwen.

At this moment, Rong Xu didn’t know that in the distant Hengdian Film and Television City, a certain large scale crew had started productions.

However, that morning’s filming had just come to a close when Old Liu received a call. Hearing the voice on the other end of the phone, the old man’s mouth twitched and he almost fainted from anger: “He was actually that kind of person? Why didn’t you say this earlier! How can an anti-Chinese individual enter my crew? You are simply blowing farts! Immediately go and find me a new actor for this role!”

After the Feitian Awards ended, the media reports were no less than that of the Peony Awards. This time, however, the most eye-catching news wasn’t the TV Emperor or TV Empress, nor the success of Vie for Supremacy, but rather Qin Cheng. Qin Cheng had gone to be an award presenter at the Feitian Awards. This was definitely big news. According to the news reports, after Qin Cheng’s appearance, the Feitian Award’s viewer ratings directly shot past 2, and by the end, even broke 3!

Since the beginning of that year, TV shows that broke 2 were rare, and even Ambush only broke it once or twice from beginning to end. Whereas, the Feitian Awards, being an awards ceremony, had actually attracted this much attention. There was absolutely no doubt who the hero (in this scenario) was.

All the major media outlets were reporting on Qin Cheng and the recipient of his award, Rong Xu.

Advertisements

Most websites’ front page headlines were photos of Qin Cheng presenting the award to Rong Xu, and most photos captured the moment they hugged.

This image was everywhere, blanketing the entire internet. Let alone news sites, when Rong Xu opened up his private fan forum, he found that the fans were using that photo to brush posts (after posts)!

[ChengRong ChengRong ChengRong! Love ChengRong for ten thousand years! ! ! 】

[Those who have the ability, kneeling and begging experts for fan fics[1] and drawings, Kowtowing! 】

[God Qin presented the award for my Rong. QAQ moved to tears! Look at my Rong, smiling so happily, even his eyes are smiling! This is a joy sprouted from the heart!】

Rong Xu observed the image and silently touched his eyes, subconsciously thinking: …… were his past smiles all unhappy??

But, what this fan said wasn’t incorrect. When Rong Xu saw Qin Cheng appear on the Feitian Award’s stage, he was surprised at first, and then his emotions turned into indescribable joy. He naturally knew the reason for Qin Cheng’s appearance; there was no need to ask about this kind of thing. His lover wanted to personally give him an award, and when the two of them embraced in front of the whole world’s attention, the sweetness and joy he felt couldn’t be described in mere words.

This was the person he liked, and the world was their witness.

After browsing the forum for a while, Rong Xu opened Weibo.

Immediately after he received the award, he posted a selfie with the trophy on his Weibo. That Weibo post had already gained more than one million repost comments and more than three million likes. Tang Menglan, Dong Zheng, Yu Siyu and many others had forwarded and supported one after another, and the fans likewise replied one by one.

The entire area below the Weibo post was filled with blessings from the fans. Looking at their words, Rong Xu felt a hint of warmth blossom in his heart.

However, Rong Xu discovered that his fans count had suddenly increased by 500,000!

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

Today, Rong Xu already had more than 20 million Weibo followers. This number of fans, for a newcomer, could be regarded as middle to upper tier. After all, the time since his debut was still short, less than a year. The fact that he could grow by 20 million fans in one year was definitely an outstanding result.

Opening up Weibo’s data statistics, Rong Xu found that these fans were almost all made up of Qin Cheng’s fans. After some consideration, Rong Xu understood. Back when he worked with Qin Cheng on Black Clouds, they had attracted many of each other’s fans, and with the conclusion of that night’s awards ceremony, he was afraid many fans would be able to guess that his and Qin Cheng’s relationship was … very good.

Therefore, it was completely reasonable for Qin Cheng’s fans to follow him.

Without thinking too much, Rong Xu swiped through his friends circle one last time before preparing to turn off his phone and go to sleep when he suddenly saw a certain Weibo post.

【Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing: Baby’s first kiss ( w ) [2] He must be responsible for baby! 】

     Rong Xu: “……”

Most of Rong Xu’s fans were discussing the Feitian Awards and Qin Cheng tonight. Thus, few fans noticed this wealthy fair maiden leader fan’s Weibo post, and only a few fans responded by teasing her. But, after all, this godly tyrant was simply too cute, and there are still some tens of fans who replied back.

[Hahahaha, Orange is starting to sell meng again~]

[Yi, was I the only one to realize, it turns out that Orange tyrant only gifted her first kiss today? How pure and innocent! Don’t you dare tell me that Orange tyrant isn’t an adult yet, I won’t believe it! 】

The millionaire rich tyrant persona had long since collapsed and vanished without a trace. Rong Xu looked at these fans’ replies and really wanted to give each of their comments a thumbs up to show his agreement. However, he could only suppress his impulses because he knew he absolutely couldn’t do so.

Who knew that just as Rong Xu was being indecisive about whether to register a side account to give this high potential[3] godly wealthy fair maiden a thumbs up and also use it to browse his desired content in the future, he suddenly saw this Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing post another one…… three in a row!

【Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing: #ChengRong# Strongly Recommend ChengRong! ChengRong is the Kingly Way! ChengRong is the Divine Way! ! ! 】

[Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing: #ChengRong# @QinCheng even went to present awards to @RongXu, If this isn’t true love, then what is?! This is true love! 】

【Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing: #ChengRong# RongRong is so beautiful. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, kiss kiss =3=]

Rong Xu: “……” This last Weibo post seems to have nothing to do with “ChengRong”, right? Why did they confess to him now and still tag Chengrong?

He felt both amused and helpless in his heart as Rong Xu casually scrolled through this fan’s Weibo.

He had been extremely busy this past half month and almost forgot about this particular fan. Now that he looked at it again, he found that the other party was once again checking in three meals a day to confess their love. However, recently, this Lotus Seed Paste and Orange Stuffing seemed to like brushing the ChengRong tag. Turns out they were a diehard CP fan.

After looking for a while, Rong Xu’s gaze froze on the words “first kiss”. He stared at these two words deeply and slightly frowned, internally feeling something was a little strange. But, after looking for a bit longer, he turned away and finally turned off his phone, closing his eyes to rest.

Meanwhile, in the next room over, a certain man was sitting calmly on the sofa, looking at his phone in a serious manner. Qin Cheng’s expression was indifferent and stern, as if he was watching some sort of societal news. But, no one would ever think that at this moment, his cell phone screen was flashing, one after another, with fanart!

The speed of expert hands within the circle was terrifyingly fast, if they were slow, could they still be called expert hands?

The digital artwork expert housewives everywhere drew one comic after another at the fastest speed. What “The trophy is yours and you are mine”, what “whisper in your ears and say words of love while presenting an award”, these expert hands had holes in their brains and craters everywhere. They could practically speed away at 200 miles per hour down the freeway[4].

Looking at these comics and fanarts, as long as there was a good one, Qin Cheng would forward them. Little did Rong Xu know that after he fell asleep, a certain godly tyrant wealthy fair maiden leader fan actually reposted another tens of Weibo posts and continuously brushed the #ChengRong# tag.

After he finished reposting, the man raised his hand and touched his lips. He closed his eyes, and his thin lips curled upwards.

That evening, after the Feitian Award presentation ceremony ended, Rong Xu and Qin Cheng’s news captured the attention of countless netizens. That evening, countless fans gave their (congratulatory) blessings to their family’s Rong Rong for winning the award, and Rong Xu also made it into the top three trending searches in one fell swoop. His popularity skyrocketed. That evening, the brains of countless CP fans cracked open, and they published (inspired) fan works one after another. Countless CP fans also said that they’ve consumed so much sweets they’ve practically become diabetic.

That night, none of the CP fans knew that this CP pair they shipped had given them the biggest piece of candy in private.

First kiss for first kiss…… En, it’s an equivalent exchange, there’s no problem.

Boiling hot breaths drifted beside Rong Xu’s nose. He tried hard to return the kiss from the man who was currently on top of him, but he was kissed by the other until he was dazed and his vision blurred, unable to breathe properly. He could only let out occasional moans from his throat.

The entire world was washed away by the other. His lips were numb with heat, and a faint sense of pleasure rushed through Rong Xu’s mind, making him dizzy. If the first kiss was counted as a dragonfly gently landing on water, then the second kiss was definitely the advent of a violent storm. Qin Cheng frantically plundered everything belonging to the younger man, clasping their fingers tightly, as if seeking to envelope the other person into his body.

The beautiful and ambiguous atmosphere gradually diffused through the spacious living room. Rong Xu clearly didn’t drink (at the party), but he also felt he was a little drunk. Perhaps it was the faint smell of red wine from Qin Cheng’s mouth that made him drunk, and when the kiss was over, he could only look at the man on top of him blearily with squinted eyes.

Those shining eyes were brighter than the hot sun.

Two touches of rose pink colored the youth’s cheeks. His mouth was slightly open as he panted lightly for breath. It was an act of pure and simple seduction.

Qin Cheng’s hands clasped Rong Xu’s hands tightly. He looked deeply at the young man below him, and his fingers gradually tightened. His lips were also pursed. After a while, he finally spoke with a hoarse and sexy voice: “Xiao Xu……”

This voice was simply a temptatious poison pill. Rong Xu raised his eyes and looked at Qin Cheng innocently, as if he didn’t understand what the other party was saying. But, his body temperature gradually rose while staring into the man’s deep eyes; the two panted for breath together, and no one spoke.

Qin Cheng’s gaze slowly slid down from the young man’s slender phoenix eyes, onto his moistened lips, onto his protruding and tender collarbones, and then further down, past the beautiful waistline hidden behind the pajamas, and past those straight and slender legs.

With his handsome brows furrowed, Qin Cheng closed his eyes, and after a duration, he asked softly: “Can I kiss you…… Xiao Xu?”

In response, Rong Xu lifted his body and planted a soft kiss.

Under the warm and soft yellow light, the handsome youth curled up the corner of his lips, revealing a pure and gentle smile.

This was his answer.

This kiss made Qin Cheng suddenly freeze. He looked at the person smiling up at him, and countless emotions flashed across his eyes. Finally, he sighed softly, leaned down, and pecked another kiss on those soft, tender lips.

The kiss was very gentle, gentle enough to make both of them slightly intoxicated, but without the feeling of violent plundering (from before). Qin Cheng kissed his beloved reverently, tenderly kissing his soft lips, tasting the fragrance of fruity sweetness.

The restlessness gradually subsided with time, and Rong Xu seemed to have noticed something else, too. Qin Cheng had released his hands and turned to hugging his waist. He also raised his arms to embrace the other man. The sofa wasn’t big, and it was crowded to accommodate two men, but the two were tightly pressed together, their eyes closed as they kissed each other with their whole heart.

A while later, Qin Cheng got up from the sofa, picked up Rong Xu sideways (in a princess carry), and carried him into his (Rong Xu’s) bedroom. Originally, Rong Xu wanted to get down and walk on his own, but the man frowned and said: “I thought you would’ve already gone to sleep after hearing back from me1. I didn’t expect you to be waiting for me.”

Rong Xu was briefly taken aback, only now realizing that his cellphone had long since run out of power, and Qin Cheng had probably sent a few text messages earlier on.

Qin Cheng carefully lay Rong Xu on the bed and tucked him in. As he was leaving, his right hand was suddenly grasped as he turned his body around. Qin Cheng turned his head back in surprise and saw Rong Xu smiling slightly on the bed as he asked in a whisper: “So, the last time you suddenly sat down on the coffee table was because you wanted to secretly steal a kiss…… did you want to kiss me?”

Qin Cheng: “!!!”

The tips of his ears reddened immediately at a speed visible to the naked eye and Qin Cheng said sternly: “No, didn’t.”

Rong Xu raised an eyebrow lightly and faintly smiled: “Hmm, I seemed to recall it was because …… you needed to get something, so you sat down?”

Qin Cheng nodded calmly: “En.”

In the next moment, he saw the young man burst out in laughter: “Hmm, I remembered wrong. You said last time that you were sitting down to play on your cell phone.”

Qin Cheng: “……”

The smile hanging on Rong Xu’s lips became a few degrees deeper, and his charming eyes were curved into a beautiful crescent shape filled with thousands of hidden stars, dazzling and sparkling. He laughed faintly, not in a mocking way, but from thinking that this man was particularly cute. However, he himself naturally didn’t notice that, simultaneously, Qin Cheng’s gaze on him was growing deeper and deeper.

Suddenly, the youth’s laughter abruptly stopped. The older man had calmly planted a kiss on those lips, successfully stopping the youth.

Qin Cheng, who sported a calm expression but red ears: “Good night.”

Rong Xu, who silently pulled up the bedding and only revealed a pair of eyes: “……Good night.”

The door was closed with a click, and Qin Cheng turned off the light conveniently as he exited. Rong Xu also slowly pulled down his bedding, revealing his pink tinted cheeks. He looked at the ceiling with wide open eyes.

He had to catch a flight early the next morning, but Rong Xu didn’t fall sleep. He gazed at the ceiling quietly and watched as the bustling city lights faintly illuminated the room through the windows.

A while later, Rong Xu curled up the corner of his lips helplessly and lightly shook his head. He then picked up his phone and started searching —

[Why does falling in love lower one’s IQ?] 2

More than 100,000 related answers appeared from the search. The first result appeared to be the best answer. It said that when the nervous system of an individual in a relationship is extremely excited, it may cause parts of the nervous system to temporarily stop functioning correctly.

Rong Xu nodded solemnly and whispered: “En, no wonder……”

After reading through this answer, Rong Xu finally regained a bit of his confidence in his IQ. He put down his phone, closed his eyes and went to sleep. But, his red and swollen lips and the warmth lingering on his lips made him gradually wrinkle his brows.

     5 minutes later……

     10 minutes later……

     30 minutes later……

Rong Xu silently turned over and shook his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He picked up his phone again, charging it while flipping through the news.

SA Chapter 87 (Part 2)

OHOHOHOHO (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)✿

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

After returning home, Rong Xu packed his luggage and prepared for his departure the next day. He took off his suit and put on his usual pajamas, then he removed the light layer of makeup on his face before tidying up a bit around the house. When he had finished all this, it was already eleven o’clock in the evening, but Qin Cheng had yet to return.

Rong Xu contemplated for a while and chose to sit on the sofa to watch TV. The TV continuously broadcasted content related to the Feitian Awards that night, and no matter which entertainment program it was, one would be able to see the clip of him and Qin Cheng together.

Advertisements

A little star who just debuted may not be able to adapt to seeing themselves on TV at first. However, Rong Xu watched (the TV programs) without any fluctuations in his expression. After watching for a while, he changed the channel and found a random movie to watch.

The movie was a trending film showcasing some popular and good-looking newcomers who have never filmed before. It was an ordinary chick flick, some romance here and there with lighthearted comedy. The fact that this movie could achieve a high box office rating meant that it naturally had its merits, and Rong Xu couldn’t help laughing along as he watched. At the conclusion, when the protagonist proposed to the heroine with 9,999 balloons, Rong Xu stared at the TV screen in a serious manner and pressed pause.

He walked up close to the TV screen and started counting the balloons one by one. After counting about one-tenth of them, he shook his head and sighed: “How is there possibly 9,999…… directors nowadays are too dishonest[1]. Having 2,000 is already good enough.”

The director who inexplicably got shot : “……”

Speaking logically, who would really use 9,999 balloons to film a movie! ! !

After watching this movie, it was already almost one o’clock in the morning, yet Qin Cheng still hadn’t returned. The slender young man hugged his legs as he curled up completely on the sofa, watching a TV drama quietly. Watching and watching, his eyes became a little dazed, and a few minutes later, only the noise from the TV sounded continuously from the living room.

When Qin Cheng returned at three in the morning, this was the scene he saw.

The fair and beautiful youth wore a pair of light-colored pajamas, hugging his knees as he leaned against the sofa fast asleep. He was quietly asleep in a well-behaved manner, his lightly fluttering eyelashes cast a faint shadow upon his long, closed eyes, his lips were pink, his skin was fair, and the warm yellow light cast upon him made it so that others couldn’t help but hold their breaths, afraid to disturb this beautiful picture.

Rong Xu’s face was very suitable for makeup. He had a tall nose bridge and a small nose, large eyes and three-dimensional features. He was suited for any style of makeup, but when he didn’t have any on, he appeared quiet and obedient, reflecting his age.

With gentle hands and feet, Qin Cheng took off his coat. He walked to the sofa and subconsciously wanted to reach out, pick up the youth, and bring him into the bedroom. However, as soon as his hand touched Rong Xu’s pajamas, he suddenly stopped.

As if he were recalling something, the man’s eyes darkened. He fell silent for a moment. Then, acting like he was super experienced, he unhesitantly leaned down and prepared to plant a kiss on those soft-looking lips.

But, just as the two lips were about to touch each other!

Rong Xu abruptly opened his eyes and gazed at Qin Cheng in surprise.

Qin Cheng: “……”

Rong Xu: “……”

At such a close distance, the two people’s breaths blew onto each other’s face, both warm and numbing.

After staring for a long time, Rong Xu finally coughed awkwardly, and said: “…… I was already awakened the moment you walked through the door. I was just too sleepy and didn’t say anything.”

Yes, when Qin Cheng opened the door, Rong Xu was actually already awake. But many times, although awakened, most people wouldn’t want to move. Their eyelids would be too tired and heavy, and they wouldn’t even have much strength to speak. If it weren’t for Rong Xu’s sudden sense that something was wrong, he’s afraid Qin Cheng would’ve kidnapped him into the bedroom.

But now……

Qin Cheng was silent for a while before finally whispered: “I’ll carry you to the bedroom.”

As soon as his words fell, the man stretched out his hand, planning to carry the youth. But, just as he touched Rong Xu’s arm, his waist was suddenly pulled forward. Qin Cheng opened his eyes in surprise, but the next moment, a scorching hot temperature suddenly pressed against his lips!

His phoenix eyes gradually widened. Qin Cheng’s body still carried a faint smell of wine and perfume from when a bunch of actresses inexplicably brushed against him during the dinner party. But now, there was only the youth’s fresh and fruity scent lingering in his nose.

……He used fruit flavored toothpaste?

This sentence flashed across his mind.

In the next second, Qin Cheng’s eyes darkened, and he suddenly turned over and pressed the younger man under him, holding Rong Xu’s right hand while pressing him onto the sofa.

Those lips were as soft as the man had imagined them to be, and merely a simple, static kiss was enough to cause his body temperature to rise. A flexible tongue hurriedly pried open the gap between his teeth. Rong Xu was startled, and he widened his eyes in surprise as he looked at Qin Cheng. However, the tip of that red wine-scented tongue had already penetrated deep into his mouth, desperately grasping at the sweet, sweet fluid.

En, Qin Cheng…”

Whispy and fragmented noises sounded throughout the quiet living room. The man’s hands held down the youth’s hands as the temperature (between them) gradually rose, and an ambiguous and sensual atmosphere slowly diffused through the room.

Gradually, Rong Xu also closed his eyes and immersed himself in this kiss. In his previous life, he had suffered a fatal plane crash before he could experience falling in love.

He had indeed filmed kiss scenes before, but they were mostly either body doubles or simply a peck on the lips[2]. In the past, he didn’t understand why he never held an interest towards those beautiful actresses before, and merely thought he was born with a cold temperament. But now, feeling the heat slowly rising up from his lower body, Rong Xu breathed out soft, alluring moans and responded enthusiastically.

But no matter how he responded, it was still a bit awkward. The man bit the reddened lips, the tip of his tongue sweeping across every inch of the youth’s mouth, sucking and licking, almost kissing Rong Xu until his scalp tingled. The numb and tingling pleasure was transmitted to his brain, and he could only respond unconsciously.

When the kiss ended, the youth’s lips were already red and swollen, and a film of water misted across his clear eyes, making them shine. Rong Xu gasped roughly, and there was also a faint layer of moisture on his lips. He knew that he was gasping (for breath), but he didn’t know just how seductive his appearance was in the eyes of the other man.

Qin Cheng’s eyes grew a few degrees darker and he pursed his lips slightly. In the next moment, he couldn’t resist planting another kiss.

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 40 (Part 2) – Acknowledge and Correct One’s Mistakes

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

He Ruge went offline after delivering the candy, so he didn’t know that the little monster had put the fruit candy into his mouth, gnashing it with his teeth a few times, unskillfully tasting the first ever fruit candy of his life.

Tears unknowingly started streaming down his face.

It wasn’t because of pain, nor because of sadness. The little monster lay on the soft bedding, and his body felt like it was being stretched out on all sides by a pair of invisible hands, his bones making teeth-shattering cracking sounds and pain engulfed his entire being. No matter if it was his flesh or bones, his liver or brain, there was no place that wasn’t in pain.

Tears wet the bedding thoroughly as the little monster said to the sleeping Xi Guican while holding the candy in his mouth: “I’m……”

“Really……”

“So hateful.”

    *

Advertisements

After going offline, there was no pain coming from his hand at all. He Ruge looked at his uninjured right hand and let out a sigh of relief from the breath that he had been holding in.

With a complete pair of hands, he typed more than 500 words for his manuscripts before turning off the computer and going to bed.

When he woke up the next morning, He Ruge logged into the game and harvested an even bigger…… white tiger.

When the little monster stood up, his head already reached He Ruge’s waist height, and his entire body length from head to tail was more than two meters. The sleek black stripes on the snow-white fur undulated with his muscle movements as he walked.

The tiger’s body was fit and beautiful, the Zerg wings on its shoulders shone with clean edges, the sharp tiger claws and pointed teeth were murderous weapons, and the icy blue eyes were filled with a predator’s malice.

His (He Ruge’s) sense of aversion became heavier. He Ruge had just managed to overcome his instinctual fear of the little monster, but at this moment his legs began to soften again.

If he clashed with the little monster now, he would be thoroughly beaten[1]

The little monster wouldn’t hold grudges, right?

He Ruge’s hand which was holding the nutrient solution trembled slightly, and he impelled himself to place the nutrient solution just one meter away from the little monster, not even daring to breathe too deeply.

The little monster didn’t make a sound. When he realized He Ruge’s nervousness, he instead took a step back and stood in a corner of the wall. His stood silently with his head hung down like a child who knew he did something wrong. Such a large physique still carried a whisper of childishness in its every move.

Goodness gracious, the little monster would actually feel like he did something wrong!

He Ruge was even more shocked than when he was bitten by the little monster. He originally thought that educating the little monster would be a protracted battle and would take countless time and energy to pound (the idea of being morally right into) the little monster.

He didn’t expect it to be this effective right from the start.

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

The little monster who couldn’t tell right from wrong actually felt like he had done something wrong. This was a huge improvement. He needed to take advantage of this opportunity to thoroughly ingrain this into the little monster’s head and strike while the iron was hot to achieve the greatest effect.

He Ruge leaned against the wall, forcibly putting on a valiant facade and not allowing his soft legs to expose him. He cleared his throat and said: “You…… are you still in pain now?”

The preaching words had swirled around in his mouth, but what came out were words of concern. Suddenly growing this big would definitely hurt a lot.

The little monster silently stared at his own paws (not responding to He Ruge), almost as if waiting for his paws to sprout flowers.

“Don’t worry about today’s injection. As long as your performance is good, I have a way to relieve the pain.” He Ruge could only talk aloud to himself: “You suddenly became so big, your body has grown up, so your mentality must also mature. You can no longer think of yourself as a child, you must learn to be a little adult.”

“In the future, you need to learn to control your emotions, do you understand? If you’re unhappy or angry, we must use words to communicate. This is the so-called gentlemen fight with words, not hands……”

He Ruge stuttered for a moment, and then rejected the idea while looking at the little monster’s mouth[2].

“It’s not gentlemanly to bite. You are already this old now. If you bite me like you did when you were a child, then you’ll never see me again.”

The little monster remained silent, not even lifting his head.

“Us mature adults don’t hold grudges[3]. If you are obedient in the future, I will still like you very much.” He Ruge couldn’t continue on. The little monster’s low pressure was strong enough to bring the entire room’s pressure down. He Ruge dryly ended his tirade that wasn’t convincing at all and then supported his hand on the wall as he prepared to leave the room.

When He Ruge was about to step out of the room, a hoarse voice suddenly came from behind him: “You……”

“Does your hand still hurt?”

The voice belonged to a teen in their voice changing period, and though it was less pleasant to hear compared to the milky voice of his childhood, He Ruge felt that it was the most beautiful voice in the world. The concern hidden behind his tone made the corners of He Ruge’s lips rise uncontrollably.

Perhaps this was the gratification one felt when watching a child grow up.[4]

He Ruge turned his head around to look at the little monster’s unnatural expression and said: “It hurts.”

The little monster’s blue eyes were a little at a loss.

“My hand hurts so much, yet I still came to deliver the nutrient solution to you. Therefore, you are not allowed to bite me again in the future, otherwise I’ll never deliver nutrient solutions to you anymore, got it?”

The little monster nodded very slowly, and he saw the smile on the corner of the man’s lips grow bigger, as if he was glad to exit the room.

He left again.

The little monster picked up the nutrient solution from on the ground. When he recalled that person’s smile, the nutrient solution, which originally had no taste, became a few degrees sweeter in his mouth.

When this man laughed, it was so nice.

He now seemed to understand a little why Xi Guican liked this person so much.

His chest felt both sore and stuffy.

This emotion had sprouted the moment he saw the bandages, and should be Xi Guican’s emotions. When Xi Guican wakes up, he will definitely come pick a fight.

Because …… he had bitten that man.

And bitten till he bled.

As soon as he thought of this, Xi Guican felt very distressed.
