What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 25 (Part 5) – Yearning for the Starry Skies

Trigger warning: Feelings of anxiety and helplessness (spread throughout passage).

He Ruge manipulated the game character to walk towards the stairs, but the stairs leading to the Basement Level 1 were blocked by a door. He could only leave if he earned enough authority, and He Ruge currently had insufficient authority.

Most of the doorways in Starry Sea Orphanage had specific restrictions. At the beginning, it was Crow who brought He Ruge from the second floor to Basement Level 2. It was also Crow who led He Ruge to Basement Level 3 to take Little White Tiger and the others in for the transplantation process.

Thus, Crow must have permission to get from Basement Level 3 to Basement Level 2.

He Ruge had a bold idea. He wanted to overthrow Crow. This game had specially arranged the staff dormitory in such a way that increased the time he spent with Crow, and also allowed him to discover the memories that even Crow himself had forgotten.

No game would design heavy but meaningless characters and maps, and so Crow, this NPC, must be very important and may even be the key to completing the game.

He Ruge understood this and immediately went to the staff accommodations area to find Crow.

When he opened the door of the staff dorm, upon first glance, he didn’t see Crow, but rather the work clothes spread out on Crow’s bed. When He Ruge took a closer look, he noticed that there was another indistinct bulge by the work clothes.

With the experience accumulated from dealing with the medicine-seeking rat, He Ruge became keenly aware of the abnormality, so he used his mouse to click the small bulge.

Crow

[Caw “What’s wrong?“】

A small ink colored head popped out from under the white work clothes. It was a crow’s sleek body, but the wings were not that of a bird’s.

He Ruge had seen similar wings many times today. The surface of the wings was a dark color. Zerg wings densely packed with short fur spikes. This was actually an enlarged version of the Zerg wings seen on Golden Python’s back.

[You woke Crow up, wanting to talk to him about something, your choices are:

A. Directly ask how to go upstairs

B. Tell him about Wu Yunlan’s story]

So, it was like this.

He Ruge decisively chose B. Wu Yunlan’s story was exchanged with a rare prop; it was time to realize the value of that rare item!

You

[There was once an experimental subject who participated in “Death God’s Wings”……]

[He was firmly dedicated to the belief that he would one day eliminate all of those people. 】

[However, it was a pity that he had now forgotten everything. Becoming a ghost who lures others in to share the same fate is sad, but what is even more tragic is if that ghost had forgotten everything, all of his torment and abuse, and instead lives like a walking dead. 】[1]

[Do you remember who this experimental subject is, Wu Yunlan? 】

When the name Wu Yunlan appeared, the originally inattentive Crow was suddenly struck by thunder, shocking him as if he’d been hit with a bucket of water. Crow froze on the spot, then he opened his mouth and screamed in pain.

A crow’s cry was already normally unpleasant, like the sound of gravel being stuck in one’s throat, tearing at the vocal cords to make a long, stern cry. He curled up in agony as his head felt like it was bursting, and he couldn’t help but slam his head into the bed to try and relieve the pain.

One knock, followed by a second knock, as the bird’s beak also rattled the bed board during the slamming and made knocking sounds. Hearing this, He Ruge’s heart pounded. He was worried that Crow would knock himself stupid, but also afraid that Crow’s beak would peck a hole into the headboard.

    *

Wu Yunlan is a crow, a small crow from the Seventeenth Star. The Seventeenth Star is the poorest and most backward planet within the Intergalactic Federation, and the people from the Seventeenth Star were always looked down upon by the other planets.

Barbaric. Violent. Poor.

In Intergalactic year 218, the Zerg invaded the Federation, and the first planet targeted was the Seventeenth Star. The barbaric and violent Seventeenth Star sacrificed more than 70% of its young and middle-aged population in order to survive until the Federation came to the rescue.

That year, countless Seventeenth Star cubs lost their parents.

Wu Yunlan is such a little crow without parents. His father was a crow (Wu Ya), and his mother was a skylark (Yun Que). His parents had told him that they existed within Wu Yunlan’s name.

As long as someone called Little Crow’s name, the first word is “Wu”, that was Dad, the second word is “Yun”, that was Mother, and the third word is “Lan”, that was himself .

That year, Little Crow had no parents, no home, and no belongings. With nothing left, the most important thing to him was his name. The only thing that could accompany him for his entire life, except for his shadow, is his own name.

Little Crow and the other cubs without parents were taken to a large orphanage. That orphanage had a very nice sounding name called “Starry Sea Orphanage”.

But, the people in this orphanage were very strange. They would put a metal helmet on Little Crow, and his head would hurt terribly while wearing it. The little crow missed his parents so much. He wanted to go home. He didn’t want to stay in this orphanage anymore.

When Wu Yunlan was a child, his parents had him cultivate the good habit of keeping a diary and being studious. They hoped Little Crow could attend the best college in the Federation when he grew up.

So, the little crow would usually use his claws to write on the iron cage, though they were all broken sentences.

Little crow grew to hate the people in Starry Sea Orphanage more and more. This was especially so when his wings were cut off and replaced with Zerg wings.

Little Crow had cried grievously. He viciously hated Starry Sea Orphanage. Once upon a time, Little Crow’s wish was to be admitted into the University of the Federation, but now his wish has to commit murder.

——I will definitely kill them all.

Little crow thought this firmly.

The transplant operation was highly successful, and the little crow gained the mysterious power. He became stronger and stronger, which made the little crow more confident in pursuing the fulfillment of his wishes.

That was until he overheard those people’s conversations. “Brainwashing”, “the next experiment”……

The strengthened Wu Yunlan used all of his strength to carve like crazy the most important thing in his life into the cage, his name.

His closest relatives were no longer with him, and the only thing left that could accompany him for life, except for his shadow, was his name. He didn’t know how terrible brainwashing would be, nor whether the memories in his brain could really be washed away.

But, there are certain things that are so important that he absolutely wouldn’t give up while he lived. For example, the name “Wu Yunlan” that had been carved into his soul.

The first word was father, the second word was mother, and the third was himself.

As long as someone called his name, as long as he saw his own name, he would surely recall everything.

An ethereal and gentle voice passed through his blank memories and echoed throughout his empty mind——

“Do you remember who this experimental subject is, Wu Yunlan?”

Wu is father.

Yun is mother.

Lan, is……

A strong sense of vertigo swept through his mind, accompanied by a loud explosion. The pain he felt was was like being bombarded with the shrapnels of thousands of exploding energy bombs, blasting apart the whitewashed, false world into pieces——

He remembered. Wu is his father, Yun is his mother, and Lan is him.

He is Wu Yunlan.

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 25 (Part 4) – Yearning for the Starry Skies

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

The Goblin Ball can only be used on deceased cubs, and the golden python was very clearly not a cub. So, from the beginning, the possibility of using the Goblin Ball was already decided by default.

The character in the game simmered in the same silence as the He Ruge in front of the screen. No one spoke. Within the silence, only Golden Python’s occasional sigh-like hisses could be heard.

 No.20

[You can become a star. 】

The sound of Little White Tiger’s voice suddenly broke the silence.

No.20

[After an individual dies, their soul becomes a star in the sky. 】

Golden python

【…… is that so】

Little White Tiger affirmed this idea firmly. His attitude was so decisive that even He Ruge, who was in front of the screen, suspected that “becoming a star after death” was part of the settings programmed into the game.

Hearing those words, Little Rabbit also raised his spirits. He looked at Little White Tiger with eyes full of hope; his careful attitude made it seem as if he was afraid of puncturing through a beautiful dream.

Advertisements

No.19

[I miss my parents, are they also in the sky? 】

Little White Tiger turned his head and looked quietly at the little rabbit. Just like when he replied to the question “Will is really not hurt”, he slowly and unwaveringly spat out his answer.

No.20

【Are. 】

The little rabbit was very ecstatic to get an affirmative answer, and he extended an invitation to the Golden Python.

No.19

[When we all become stars, I will take you to the sky to see my parents, okay? 】

Golden python

【……Okay. 】

No.19

[I really want to see the stars right now. 】

[No.19, No.20, and Golden Python all yearn for the starry skies. As a bystander, you are very moved, but you know it is impossible to see the starry skies in Basement floor three of the Starry Sea Orphanage. Your choices are:

A. Verbal comfort

B. Take action. Strive to help them realize their wish]

Only then did He Ruge discover that the little white tiger in the game also wanted to see the starry skies, but Little White Tiger didn’t say anything.

Little Rabbit and Little White Tiger had two completely different personalities. Little Rabbit had all of his emotions written on his face, and could straightforwardly indicate what he liked, even acting coquettishly to beg for it.

Little White Tiger was very different. What he hated, he would show it straightforwardly; if he held a grudge, he would dole out vengeance on the spot. However, what he liked would forever be muffled within his heart. If it weren’t for the game’s narration, He Ruge wouldn’t even have known that Little White Tiger yearned to see the stars.

Likewise, if it weren’t for the 80-plus goodwill rating, He Ruge couldn’t even be sure that Little White Tiger liked him.

He Ruge looked at the stiff lil’ gourd that was the Little White Tiger and his gaze suddenly softened as he used the mouse to click on B without hesitation.

His Little White Tiger rarely liked something. Thus, no matter how difficult the process, he wanted to realize the little white tiger’s wish. He could even buy one get three free[1], helping fulfill the wishes of the two other cuties, too.

[“Watch The Starry Skies Together” side mission has been initiated. It is required to bring No.19 and No.20 to see the starry skies together with the golden python. The golden python doesn’t have much time left. If the Player does not complete the task before the golden pythons passes, this task will automatically close! 】

[Operation tips: press “↑” “↓” “←” “→←” keys to move the game characters, press the spacebar to use Secret Observation]

[This game does not provide a map, may the player please find the route by themself]

A new side mission was unlocked.

He Ruge suddenly realized a big problem. The key to this side mission was not only to find a place where they could see stars, but also bring the little white tiger, little rabbit and golden python along.

If it was just the little white tiger and the little rabbit, it would still be alright. However, the golden python was so huge, could He Ruge possibly wrap the golden python around his waist, and majestically run out to go see the starry skies?

He felt himself balding[2].

Why does he even have to lose hair while playing a game? He picked up this game because of writer’s block. But, he didn’t expect this game to continuously make him feel distressed and balding.

He Ruge touched his own lush black hair and pushed at his glasses frame sadly. His eyes fell on the fluffy Little White Tiger——

Very well, decided on you!

Touching[3] Lil’ Tiger briefly gives a brief moment of satisfaction. Touching lil’ Tigers forever gives satisfaction forever. With wings, another option was added to touching the lil’ Tiger: [Touch Wings].

He Ruge first clicked on [Touch Head] and made Little White Tiger’s fur-style all messed up. Little White Tiger stared at He Ruge blankly. Although he looked a bit upset, he still indulged and nudged He Ruge.

This silently tolerant attitude made He Ruge want to sing “Grateful Heart”[4]. Before, he who had been scratched by Little White Tiger hadn’t thought that one day Little White Tiger would willingly put away his claws for him.

The day when he could unlock the three options [Poke Butt], [Play with Tail], [Breath on Belly] would be wonderful.

After He Ruge finished touching his head, he clicked on the newly-appeared option [Touch Wings].

His fingertips fell on the transparent wing surface, tracing gently along the veins. Little White Tiger suddenly shook his wings, avoiding He Ruge’s hand like the time He Ruge touched his ears.

No.20

[Roar~ “Don’t touch, itchy”]

Little White Tiger took a few steps backwards. He wanted to see where his wings were touched, but no matter how his little head turned, he couldn’t turn it 180 degrees and could only see part of the Zerg wings.

No feathers.

Not soft nor warm.

Such Zerg wings……where was it worthy of being liked by others?

Blue eyes blinking slightly in confusion, Little White Tiger’s actions carried a sense of caution even he wasn’t aware of as his eyes flickered around, not daring to look directly at He Ruge.

No.20

[Don’t you think…… it’s deformed]

Deformed? Where was it deformed? This pair of silver wings was clearly so beautiful, as beautiful as a work of art!

He Ruge shook his head subconsciously.

No.20

【……】

[No. 20 finds it a little difficult to believe what he heard]

……Really?

If this wasn’t a game, He Ruge would have even liked to hug and kiss the cute Little White Tiger, and then praise the Little White Tiger ten times: “You are so super duper cute”.

 No.20

……Humph

[No. 20 is slightly happy]

Little White Tiger crawled over and placed the tip of his wing onto He Ruge’s hand.

No.20

[Roar ~ “Then, touch”]

[But only touch the tip of the wings]

He Ruge was menged by Little White Tiger until his HP bar was emptied. He was so moved as he pinched the tip of the wing. In fact, what he wanted to pinch most in his heart was Little White Tiger’s small butt.

No.19

[Chirp~ “I can also let you touch my wings”]

[Not only the tip of the wings, but the entire wing can be touched at will!

The little rabbit was enthusiastic and generous. Not only did he say this, but he also tried hard to put it into action. He stuffed his wings out from between two iron bars and looked at He Ruge with shiny eyes.

He Ruge hadn’t even had time to feel moved yet before Little White Tiger retracted his own wing tip and stared at He Ruge stingily. Then he turned and roared at the little rabbit fiercely.

Little Rabbit quickly shrank into a ball and pretended nothing happened.

Only He Ruge was left at a loss.

What happened, why did he feel the same sense of embarrassment as being caught eating and running?

He Ruge slightly pushed at his glasses frame helplessly. Why hadn’t he discovered before that Little White Tiger was a small jar of vinegar that would turn over at the slightest touch.

The feeding task had been completed, but the daily task of checking up on the conditions of the subjects in the other rooms had yet to be done. He Ruge left room 214 and opened the other rooms one by one. There was a total of forty rooms on both sides of the corridor, and each room had two to three experimental subjects.

He Ruge noticed that most of the other subjects’ wings were ugly black Zerg wings, like those of golden python’s. A small number of wings on the subjects were gray or brown.

Beautiful Zerg wings like those on Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit, He Ruge had yet to see any.

There were three subjects that had died. After He Ruge brought those iron cages to the main lobby, he explored the routes on Basement Level 2. The corridor by the right-side exit of the lobby was the corridor where Room 214 was located. The exit on the left-side of the lobby was locked.

The doors leading to Basement Level 1 and Basement Level 3 were also tightly blocked.

This was equivalent to saying that He Ruge was thoroughly trapped on the second floor. In terms of his range of activity, there were only the 40 closed experimental subjects’ rooms, staff accommodations area and the lobby

There was no window in the corridors of Basement Level 2. Even if there was a window, you wouldn’t be able to see the starry skies if you opened it since these rooms were built underground.

What should he do to complete the side mission? Not to mention how he’d take the golden python out, finding a place to look at the stars was already a big problem.

To see the starry skies, he must at least leave Basement Level 2 and head to Level A.

He needed to go upstairs.

[2] Balding: from stress. Well, at least then both HRG and XGC can be bald together ^u^. Don’t worry, little pigeon.

[3] “Touching”, original “sucking on” For anyone who’s head is in the gutters~ sucking on the lil’ white tiger means something like smashing your face into a pet’s fur and rubbing your face on it. Basically, it’s equivalent to “taking advantage of”

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 25 (Part 3) – Yearning for the Starry Skies

Again. Buggos OTL
Trigger warnings: Vermiphobia and Septophobia (I will include a warning at the beginning and end of each potential trigger.) (2 warning sections)

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

He Ruge took Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit back to Room 214. When he opened the door, he saw the golden python that had shrunk itself into the corner of the large iron cage.

Golden Python’s condition today was more than twice as bad as yesterday. Its wounds had extensively rotted, and all of the scales on its body had become even duller.

He Ruge still remembered that the little rabbit was very terrified of this golden python, so he specially moved the little rabbit’s cage to the position farthest from the large iron cage.

【Daily Task: Feed the experimental subjects (0/3)]

The previous feeding bottle was replaced with a nutrient solution held in a glass bottle, similar to a test tube with a transparent liquid inside.

He Ruge was able to get the keys to the iron cages. Since the “Wings of Death” project didn’t prohibit physical contact with the experimental subjects, He Ruge opened the iron cages with the keys.

However, though the locked door of Little White Tiger’s iron cage opened, Little White Tiger didn’t make any movements. Perhaps because the Zerg wings made it difficult for the little white tiger to move, he just lay quietly in his cage.

Many option boxes popped up next to Little White Tiger’s body, and He Ruge realized that he hadn’t checked Little White Tiger’s status for a long time. Thus, he clicked on [Status].

[Like]: No. 20 likes you, Goodwill 80

[Unawakened]: No one has discovered that No. 20 is a little monster, except you

It was unknown when the goodwill level had secretly increased. Even the balance of little hearts which had been wiped clean before had now become Little Hearts x 7

It was 10 points away from the 90-points Goodwill level required by the main mission. Yet, the six experiments weren’t over yet.

Advertisements

However, an increase in the game’s goodwill isn’t a bad thing. It was this [Unawakened] state that truly puzzled He Ruge. He Ruge had previously thought that once he obtained the Zerg Wings, the status would change to [Awakened].

Little monster, Little monster. Already been fitted with Zerg wings, isn’t that monstrous enough? Does this ‘little monster’ have some sort of special meaning?

Although he had many doubts, the purpose of playing this game was to happily raise cubs. Thus, He Ruge didn’t think too much about anything else

He clicked on [Feed] with his mouse.

The nutrient solution was delivered to the corner of Little White Tiger’s mouth. Little White Tiger’s old problem of eating as if he were fighting a war each time remained the same, like he was afraid that someone would snatch it away from him. .

A few drops of nutrient solution hung on the corners of his mouth.

Seeing Little White Tiger drinking the nutrient solution with vigor, He Ruge was able to put down his heart a bit. Little White Tiger’s previous appearance of a lowered head and drooping ears almost made He Ruge think there was something wrong with Little White Tiger’s body.

However, since the problem on Little White Tiger’s side was resolved, Little Rabbit, who had curled up into a silent ball, became the most troublesome issue at present.

He Ruge opened the little rabbit’s iron cage, and the little rabbit opened his eyes in a daze. Seeing He Ruge, tears slowly emerged in his reddened eyes.

No.19

【Feels…… uncomfortable……】

He Ruge tried clicking on the little rabbit. Inside the game, he reached in and lifted the little rabbit out of the cage.

No.19

【Hurts so much……】

A teardrop slid down his face, and the little rabbit hugged He Ruge’s hand helplessly, wetting the back of He Ruge’s with tears.

Damn, what can he do?

A deep sense of powerlessness struck his heart again as He Ruge could only watch as the little rabbit cried. Little Rabbit didn’t have much strength, and after crying for a while, he became tired, only able to pitifully say he was hungry.

But after He Ruge fed the nutrient solution to the little rabbit, the little rabbit didn’t become happy.

No.19

[Chirp “……no taste”]

[No. 19 smacks his lips sadly]

[Wants to eat candy]

He Ruge solemnly consumed one little heart, and in front of Little White Tiger’s face, stuffed a lemon-flavored fruit candy into Little Rabbit’s mouth.

Once he ate the sweet, the little rabbit’s emotion stabilized somewhat. Because he was afraid of putting pressure onto the transplanted wings, Little Rabbit laid faced down and pressed his body onto the iron cage bottom, as if he would kick the bucket at any time.

Perhaps the hard bottom of the iron cage was too uncomfortable, the little rabbit got up again and pulled the small cotton nest over from the corner of the cage, planting himself into it.

Seeing Little Rabbi’s bustling movements, He Ruge breathed a sigh of relief. He went over to the Golden Python and clicked to [feed] it. The golden python was truly too big and its size was terrifying. He Ruge didn’t dare open the iron cage at all. The ‘him’ in the game passed the nutrient solution through the gap of the iron bars, pouring it in and then quickly retracting his hand.

Hearing the movement of the nutrient solution drips, the golden python moved towards it slowly, his actions as if waking up from a long hibernation. He bit the lid off the nutrient solution box with his mouth and ate it slowly.

—- Trigger Warning: Vermiphobia and Septophobia

Because the golden python had moved closer, He Ruge could now clearly see the rotting flesh wounds on his body that were twisting with maggots.

The impact of this scene was too great, shocking He Ru Ge as goosebumps rose on his back.

—- Trigger Warning End

After the horror passed, there was a hint of pity in his heart looking at the slow-moving Golden Python. Although the golden python looked terrifying, it was still also a victim of these experiments. In essence, it was no different from Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit.

He clicked on the [universal medical spray] in his backpack, and carrying the mentality of ‘let’s just try it’, he clicked on the golden python’s wound through the cage.

The spray enveloped the wound, but the golden python was extremely frightened by this sudden spray mist. He lifted up half of his body in an instant and suddenly opened his mouth. The corners of his jaws were stretched and slightly torn, dense fangs popped out from his pale gold mouth and saliva dripped from the fangs.

Golden Python

HISS——”Roll! I will eat you!“】

He Ruge was taken aback by the golden python’s sudden change.

Little White Tiger stood up immediately upon hearing Golden Python’s words. The heavy Zerg wings made him unsteady on his feet, and he trembled slightly. However, Little White Tiger’s roaring momentum did not lose at all. He also opened his mouth wide, revealing his young tiger teeth.

No.20

Roar–! ! ! “You Idiot, this is medicine!”】

It was the scene of a tiger and a snake confronting each other. Even though the little white tiger was not even one-tenth the size of the golden python, he didn’t lose out in terms of presence.

The little rabbit lying in the iron cage trembled and wanted to stand up, but the Zerg wings were too heavy, and he didn’t have the strength to stand and curse like Little White Tiger did.

Little Rabbit was slumped on the ground, but he raised his head with difficulty and looked at the angry golden python in fear.

His red eyes were tearing up as he followed with a chirp.

No.19

[Chirp——”Id…, idiot, this is medicine”]

The medicine began to take effect, and the maggots on the golden python’s wound pachi pachi fell to the ground one by one, and the original horrific wound condition became slightly relieved.

Evidence spoke louder than words, and the golden python’s momentum plummeted.  The outburst just then seemed to have exhausted his last bit of energy, and the golden python collapsed to the ground.

Golden Python

[……Apologies. It was I who misunderstood you]

—- Trigger Warning: Vermiphobia and Septophobia

The snake’s reddish-brown eyes were cloudy and dim.

Golden Python

[The effect of this medicine is quite good. I can feel all the parasites on my body have stopped. In addition to the visible parasites, there were still many small parasites moving under my skin. I haven’t been this comfortable in a long time. 】

[It’s just, this medicine was wasted on me. I’m dying. The little parasites in my body also knew I am close to death, and they worked desperately to make me bite open my skin. 】

—- Trigger Warning End

[Thank you, you are a good person. 】

[I didn’t expect to meet a good person before I died. Perhaps one always likes to nag before they die. I haven’t spoken to another for a long time, and I suddenly have a lot to say. 】

[I…… am called Xi Xing. 】

……

[I thought I could live on – Live to one day leave this cursed place and fly free using those transplanted Zerg Wings……]

[……Fly high and far into the sky and become a star.]

At this moment, those muddled pupils suddenly burst out with an extreme brilliance. It was a brilliance equivalent to the light of the stars.

The brilliance was only for an instance. After the golden python finished speaking, he collapsed. Only the occasional hissing sounds proved that he was still alive.

He Ruge’s chest was so tight that he felt he was suffocating. He opened his thermos and took a sip of the Gojiberry rock sugar water. The heat that rose up blurred his glasses lenses.

Why was this game so cruel. Giving Crow an abusive background, and still arranging another for the Golden Python. Doesn’t the game developers’ conscience hurt?!

He Ruge thought back to the goblin ball in his backpack.

There was only one goblin ball. If he gave it to the golden python, then he couldn’t give it to Little Rabbit. If he had to choose one, He Ruge would still choose Little Rabbit.

Recalling that his two lucky chances for the day haven’t been used yet, He Ruge retrieved the pink Gacha egg from the backpack and clicked to open the Gacha.

The red streaks on his legs glowed and burned, and two rare items were drawn out in succession.

[Name]: Fate’s Calling Card

[Quality]: Rare

[Evaluation]: The desires of your soul is the prophet of your destiny

[“Limitations: Although it can only be used once, the predicted destiny can be changed.”]

[Name]: Invisible wings

[Quality]: Rare

[Evaluation]: I have a pair of invisible wings, which can fly me through despair

[Limitations: the weight carried by the wings cannot exceed four hundred jin”]

Both were rare props, but neither were the goblin ball that He Ruge wanted the most.

He Ruge opened his backpack sadly and clicked on [Goblin Ball].

[Note: Little goblin, This game believes that, after death, the cubs are not lonely ghosts, they are actually cute little goblins]

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 25 (Part 2) – Yearning for the Starry Skies

Trigger warnings: depictions of blood, self-harm, and surgical procedures

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

When the Zerg Wings were truly unrooted from his body, Xi Guican’s face showed no significant expression. He blankly held the Zerg wings that he’d broken with his own hands, looking at the mirror in a daze. Hazily, Xi Guican seemed to see a hedgehog who’d had all of it’s spines broken off.

“Although No. 20’s mental state during the Ice Project was not as stable as No.19’s, the development rate of his spiritual consciousness is the highest……”

The sound of discussion pulled Xi Guican out from his memories and back into reality.

The Little White Tiger who was pulled out of his daydreaming state blinked a few times before making eye contact with the tearful little rabbit inside the cage.

“I’m so scared,” Little Rabbit choked up.

Even if he didn’t know exactly what was going to happen next, the innate instincts of small animals made the little rabbit sense danger.

There was indeed incoming danger.

Advertisements

Xi Guican overheard that those people were planning to transplant the highest quality Zerg wings onto him and the little rabbit. The higher the level of Zerg Wings, the greater the risk of a rejection reaction. Even if one were to survive the rejection reaction, there would also be the possibility of sudden death in the process of providing nutrients.

“Don’t cry, it won’t hurt,” Xi Guican said to Little Rabbit. The weeping little rabbit’s tears paused briefly and he looked at Xi Guican somewhat naively, “Really?”

Little White Tiger nodded.

Perhaps the only kindness offered by this experiment was that anesthetics were used before the operation. The use of anesthetics on experimental subjects was proposed by the medicine-seeking rat, Mao Zhengyong, from the medical office.

Although the medicine-seeking rat was usually cold-blooded and prioritized utilitarian ideals, for things that wouldn’t affect the outcome of an experiment, he still retained a sense of humanity.

Probably because his conscience hadn’t been completely wiped out, he’d deceived himself into thinking he’d done “good things” in order to achieve a sense of self-comforting.

Mask-wearing staff members separated the little rabbit from the little white tiger and fixed them both onto operating tables. Before the operation began, they were injected with anesthesia.

Although the pain was gone, Xi Guican could still feel the cold knife tip slicing into his back and twisting in his shoulder blades, making it seem like the cold Zerg wings that he had thrown away by his own hands had come back.

The flying organs he had despised yet also attached to.

It was a deformed and bizarre existence that took root on his body. The young No. 20 at the time didn’t know what significance the Zerg wings held. The little one had turned his head to glance at those silver wings, even thinking that those two Zerg wings looked pretty good.

If he snuck into an area that was well lit, regardless if it was from natural or artificial lighting, as long as he was underneath a source of light, those Zerg Wings would give off a faint glowing shimmer, and the thin wings would turn as clear as glass.

No. 20 had always liked shiny and crystal clear things since he was young.

Before his death, Golden Python had told the young No. 20 that if he had wings, he could fly out of this cursed place.

Therefore, No.20 always really cherished his little wings. He wished his little wings would quickly grow bigger and bigger, so big that even the entire Starry Sea Orphanage couldn’t fit it. Such that if he flapped his wings, he would be able to set off a hurricane and blow away all the bad guys.

When did he begin hating Zerg wings?

His pupils shrink slightly.

Those memories that he didn’t want to recall…… it’s best to not think about them again.

After the transplantation procedure was over, the little white tiger and the little rabbit now fitted with wings were replaced into their cages. The Little Rabbit was so uncomfortable that he didn’t even have the strength to cry.

Surviving the rejection reaction relied on oneself to conquer. Zerg wings are a very special existence, and all drugs were ineffective against it. Starry Sea Orphanage used the results of countless dead experimental subjects to come to the conclusion that Zerg wings are related to the Spiritual Consciousness Sea.

The more advanced one’s spiritual consciousness was, the stronger their ability to withstand the rejection reaction of the transplanted Zerg wings.

There’s a huge difference between the spiritual consciousness of Zergs and those of Interstellars. The Zerg had low intelligence, and the basic instinct of most Zergs was to kill. Only a few high-level Zergs could attain the level of an ordinary Interstellar.

The only Zerg with a high IQ is the Zerg Queen.

A race based on killing, their spiritual consciousness is full of violent and negative energy. Due to this fact, in addition to developing one’s spiritual consciousness sea, the Ice Project also aimed to make normal spiritual consciousnesses gain a similar negative energy.

At the beginning, Xi Guican was regarded as the most successful sample of the Ice Project, and motivated the perverted scientists of Starry Sea Orphanage to vigorously promote the Ice Project. Unexpectedly, after more than 50 consecutive Ice Projects, more than 1,000 subjects died and none survived.

Because the death rate was too high, the effort and investment were not proportional. Thus, the Ice Project was finally suspended, and No.20 became the sole successful product that couldn’t be replicated.

Little White Tiger recalled the past coldly, his gloom and disgust almost overwhelmed himself until his cage was passed over to He Ruge’s hands.

As long as he raised his head, he would crash into those gentle, black eyes.

——It turns out that you were waiting for me.

    ——I’m back.

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 25 (Part 1) – Yearning for the Starry Skies

Beginning of VIP chapters in raws.*:・゚*:・゚ \ (> u <)ノ*:・゚*:・゚
Title can also mean “Heading towards the Starry Skies”

Trigger warnings: depictions of blood, self-harm, and surgical procedures

The experience of Zerg wings transplantation was a layer of murky gray ash in Xi Guican’s memories. He initially thought that if he experienced this pain again in the game, he might lose control of his emotions.

However, nothing happened.

When he left He Ruge’s side and was about to be sent into the laboratory, the little rabbit had cried so hard that Xi Guican’s eardrums were pierced by the sound of his crying. Yet, Xi Guican’s mood was still unexpectedly stable.

He looked forwards, through the iron cage, at He Ruge in the distance and saw the worry and pity that were about to overflow from his deep, black eyes.

That year, when he rushed into the Intergalactic Wars, he’d been all alone and out of place among the large number of recruits who were participating in the war. Those recruits all bid a final farewell to their families. Everyone had endless words to say and endless tears to shed, and with their sadness suppressed to a certain extent, the situation ended up quite lively.

Then, they boarded the starship as it began its take-off. The people on the ground waved farewell while looking up at them. Xi Guican remembered that their gazes were the same as (HRG’s) now, worried and cherishing, bright and focused like an inextinguishable lamp[1].

Those lanterns that would stay there forever, so that the lonely souls of soldiers who can’t find their way home can follow its light to return.

The standing young figure was reflected in his blue eyes.

——You will always wait for me to come home.

——Right?

If you had someone waiting for you, even if you encountered an endless darkness, you wouldn’t feel lost.

When Xi Guican was taken into the laboratory, he saw hundreds of frozen Zergs, most of which were inferior-type Zergs. The surface of their black wings were covered by dense spikes, and those Zergs had no significant attack power or flying ability.

At first, the Federation thought that the Zerg wings of these lower-level Zergs were merely for display purposes. Later on, after dealing with the Zergs, they discovered that the wings were the source of the Zerg’s power. If a Zerg loses other parts of its body, even its head, it can still retain a certain amount of combat effectiveness. Even if it was thoroughly dead, it could still turn around to bite you.

But once a Zerg loses its wings, its combat power is instantly reduced. At that time, killing the Zerg would be as simple as chopping cabbage.

Ordinary quality Zerg wings are like a bird’s wings, being generally gray or light brown in color, and have the ability to fly short distances.

The higher the quality of the Zerg wings, the lighter the color and the longer the length. High-quality Zerg wings not only have the ability to fly long distances in high altitudes, but also have sharp bones covered in spikes that maintain extremely terrifying lethality.

When the wings are cut off a Zerg, they will automatically shrink and become smaller. When the Zerg wing is transplanted on flesh, it will quickly absorb the “nutrients” in the host’s body. If the nutrients are sufficient, the Zerg wings would return to its original size. If the available nutrients were in excess, it could even grow beyond its original appearance.

Though, no one really understood the exact nutrients that Zerg wings required.

So far, there was only one experimental subject who was able to feed a pair of high-quality Zerg wings and even gave it excess nutrients. There was only one.

It was Xi Guican himself.

Xi Guican’s gaze fell on the sparse and rare high-grade Zerg wings, and he stared long and hard at a pair of silver-white wings. Emotions surged through his heart and he couldn’t tell whether it was a feeling of disgust or nostalgia.

He had used this pair of Zerg wings to break through that prison, to break through all of his shackles, before he finally ripped off the Zerg wings with his own two hands. The palm of his hand laid onto the root of the Zerg wings, and his fingers gripped the cold wings, one finger at a time.

This pair of wings had stayed on him for a long time, and every vein on the thin wing surface was connected to his nerves and nociceptors. When he’d fought against the enemy, a mysterious energy would cover the wing surface and give the Zerg wings an impenetrable hardness.

But, at this very moment, when that pair of Zerg Wings faced its previous master, that mysterious energy did not appear.

The wings which had lost its energy couldn’t be said to be as thin as a cicada’s wings, but neither did it have any real tenacity.

He could easily destroy these Zerg wings, but the pain transferred from the Zerg wings would instantly drown out all of his perception.

The palm of his hands crushed the surface of the wings inch by inch, and dark golden-colored blood flowed out, containing an iciness completely different from his own body temperature.

After all, the Zerg wings came from a foreign race. Regardless of how long it stayed on his body, its blood was still cold, not hot.

Five fingers grasped the bone-hard wings. Using his hands, which were trembling from pain, he ripped out the bone wings from his flesh, and blood gushed out from the wound. However, because the Zerg wings were already fused into the host’s flesh and blood, if one wanted to pull out the wings, they’d inevitably also rip a layer of skin off their back.

Xi Guican sat in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror. He turned his head, and a strand of slightly longer hair slid down, covering his narrowed blue eyes.

He silently exhausted all his strength to break off the Zerg Wings, and the blue veins on his forehead popped out individually. Xi Guican’s skin had always been quite pale and lacking in blush, but even after carrying out such a laborious task, he was still pale-faced and calm-hearted [2].

His blood-stained hands broke off the other Zerg wing, but he still sported that pale complexion. However, though he was pale-faced and calm-hearted, the visible veins on his head never diminished, and the sensation of colic pain never ceased.

WDBKFMGB Chapter 24 – White Tiger Fitted Wings

Annnnd Folks, We’ve reached the beginning of the VIP Chapters. Starting Chapter 25, the Raw chapters are purchase-to-read (Which means I’ll be buying the raw chapters >u<). If you can, please do support the author by purchasing the chapters on the JJWXC site.

Chapter 25 is a WHOOPING 10,000 CHARACTERS LONG (Oh my goodness gracious, save me) so it will be broken down into 3 or 4 parts. Chapters 26 to 28 are also ~7,000 characters long and must be broken down.

I’ve been working on Chapter 25 simultaneously with Chapter 24, which is why I didn’t make a post within 7 days of the last update. I’ll be posting a “Translating Status” page soon so you all can check my progress in case anyone is worried about me disappearing if I didn’t post at least once every 7 days. Thanks! Enjoy!

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

He Ruge logged into the game at 8 o’clock the next morning,

Crow

[The raw materials have arrived. We’ll take No. 19 and 20 to Basement Three]

Raw materials…… is it fresh Zerg wings?

He Ruge is somewhat aversive to Zerg wings. From an aesthetics point of view, if the fleshy wings on the Golden Python were attached to Little White Tiger’s body, those Zerg wings that look like feather-plucked chicken wings would truly damage Little White Tiger’s cuteness level.

Crow opened Room ‘214’, and the sleep-muddled Little Rabbit immediately perked up his ears alertly when he heard the sound. Upon seeing Crow, his raised rabbit ears drooped back down.

After Crow lifted Little Rabbit’s iron cage, Little Rabbit pressed against the walls of the cage and shrank helplessly into a ball. The round rabbit tail was stuck in-between two bars of the iron cage.

He Ruge carried Little White Tiger’s cage about. Although Little White Tiger wasn’t as scared as Little Rabbit, he seemed to be in a terrible mood. He was lying in the iron cage with his tiger ears drooped down, his blue eyes gloomy and fierce. Only when he raised his eyes to look at He Ruge did his sharp eyes slightly soften.

Crow led the way in silence. Basement Three was heavily guarded, and just layers of doors alone, there were five of them from the inside out[1].

He Ru Ge originally thought that he could accompany Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit into the laboratory, but unexpectedly, he was stopped. Two staff members took over the iron cages before turning and leaving with Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit.

Suddenly realizing that he was leaving He Ruge’s side, the little rabbit’s paws grabbed onto the iron cage bars, and the little crybaby who had been suppressing all his energy finally broke down and cried.

Facing the screen, He Ruge turned down the volume to mute. He found that he couldn’t listen to the little rabbit’s crying because his heart would tighten up.

When muted, in this silent film-like scene, the first thing one would see is not the bawling rabbit, but rather the little white tiger who silently didn’t make a peep.

Advertisements

Those blue eyes never blinked. There was a plethora of deep and colorful emotions reflecting in those eyes, like fire flowing under the ice. That fire burned in a barren wasteland inside his soul, becoming more and more prolific, more and more widespread. But, in that soul where even grass would not grow, where it was completely dead and without vitality-

at this time, because of that fire, also transformed into something dazzling.

When the little white tiger completely disappeared from his field of vision, He Ruge suddenly felt that a small section of his heart had become hollow, as if it’d been completely burned away by that field of fire.

Crow

[The transplant operation won’t take long. We can wait here for a brief amount of time]

He Ruge pushed at his glasses and closed his eyes in exhaustion. Perhaps it was because this gameplay was too realistic, He Ruge felt a sense of sorrow bred from his helplessness.

He didn’t fast forward the time, and instead stared dazedly at the closed door on the screen alone.

After an unknown amount of time, the door opened and the two staff members brought out the iron cages. The Little White Tiger in the iron cage had gained a pair of silver Zerg Wings. This pair of silver Zerg wings had no feathers, and no soft or smooth texture. At first glance, one would see that the sharp bony wings had a semi-transparent layer overlaying the bony structure.

A dark, crisscrossed, golden vein pattern gave the Zerg wings a more delicate and fragile appearance.

Beautiful Zerg wings. They were completely different from the ugly wings on the back of the golden python. When the silver Zerg wings hung down quietly, they resembled a butterfly that had settled in the center of the cage.

The length of the Zerg wings was longer than the little white tiger’s body length. Those leaden, heavy Zerg wings pressed down upon Little White Tiger to the point where he couldn’t stand up. He laid in the cage with a sickly mien.

He Ruge could see the bandages wrapped between the root of the Zerg wings and the wound –  blood was faintly seeping through the white bandages.

Crow

[No. 19 and No. 20’s transplanted Zerg wings are of the highest quality]

The little rabbit in the cage had the same type of Zerg wings as Little White Tiger. However, his condition was very poor compared to Little White Tiger, and he couldn’t even open his eyes, curling up weakly inside the cage.

The moment He Ruge received Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit’s cages, the “Death God’s Wings” experiment officially started!

  【Daily task

You are responsible for all the test subjects in Room 214. As a staff member involved in “Death God’s Wings”, in addition to delivering Room 214’s meals on time and cleaning the experimental subjects’ room, you are also responsible for cleaning up the dead experimental subjects in other rooms]

  *

Differing from Xi Guican’s prior experience, in addition to the golden python, Room 214 gained a little crying rabbit as an occupant.

Xi Guican knew that the No. 19 Little Rabbit had always been afraid of him. Because He Ruge previously sang and fed sweets to the little rabbit, Xi Guican always felt that his personal pampering had been divided away.

Clearly, this was his game. He Ruge is his exclusive lover. The Little Rabbit was the shameless thief, a dove that occupied the magpie’s nest, and his cries stole away He Ruge’s attention.

Little White Tiger had a small heart and he secretly recorded his grudges. During the last bathing day, he had roared at the little rabbit and frightened the shit out of that rabbit with pea sized courage until he no longer dared to even glance at Little White Tiger.

However, what Xi Guican didn’t expect was that when this little rabbit entered Room 214 and encountered the even more terrifying Golden Python, the little rabbit who had always been walking the long route around him started pleading to him for help.

“Chirp, the big snake is so terrifying,” Little Rabbit said with a crying tone.

Little White Tiger turned a deaf ear.

Wuwuwu……” Little Rabbit shook and shivered.

Little White Tiger turned his body around.

“20, say, do you think the big snake will eat us?” Little rabbit bawled loudly.

Little White Tiger became impatient with noise, and he turned his head towards the Little Rabbit and roared fiercely: “Shut it, stop crying!”

After being yelled at, the Little Rabbit who had previously always trembled, actually stopped trembling. He wiped away his tears with his long rabbit ears. Then, he faced Little White Tiger and said: “20, are we still considered neighbors?”

Neighbors?

No. 19, No. 20. They were just experimental subjects with sequential connected numbers, how could this be considered being neighbors.

Xi Guican looked at the little rabbit with an inexplicable expression. He saw the little rabbit with reddened eyes, helpless and hesitating like the young No. 20 of the past[2]. Xi Guican stared for a long while before snorting coldly: “Yes.”

The little rabbit thus fell asleep with relief.

After observing everything, the Golden Python in the room hissed softly and slowly slithered to the corner of the cage, curling into a spiral from his original “S” shape. This posture shrank his occupied space by half and also reduced the pressure it exuded by a significant amount.

At least, at first glance, what you’d see is not a terrifying gigantic python, but rather a flat egg pancake[3].

Many things he had previously forgotten came back to mind. Xi Guican recalled the first time he arrived in Room 214 years ago. His first meeting with Golden Python also terrified him, but he and the little rabbit have different personalities. Though he was terrified in his heart, he still had to put on a facade of calmness on the surface, just like a paper tiger[4].

He remembered that on his first night in Room 214, the golden python had also curled up and went to sleep early in the day. The No. 20 back then was even secretly relieved, feeling fortunate that he didn’t have to uphold the paper tiger temperament.

It turned out that his weakness back then could be seen through at a glance. It turned out …… he had also encountered such a kindness back then.

Even in the darkest period of his life, he had received an unnoticed trace of goodwill.

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 23 – Dust Covered Memories

Hi all! Thanks for your patience! I’ve been allocating most of this week to preparing for the super long chapter 25 (beginning of VIP chapter, 10,000 characters long!! Q_Q) and scouring it for triggers and potential footnote explanations.

{Please read the original translations on SurrealSkyTranslations instead of supporting TL aggregator sites. Thanks!}

Due to the requirement of 10 thousand words a day after entering V, He Ruge’s daily gaming time was limited to within one and a half hours. After he exited the game, he wrote for 3 hours and then examined the red stripes again before going to bed.

The amount of red stripes had increased, but the new streaks were above the ankles.

Since the red streaks were in two different places, did that mean he would be able to obtain two lucky chances each day in the future?

He Ruge already drew the rare prop “Love Horoscope” today, so, in theory, he should have another lucky chance. Right now, it was past nine O’clock at night, and He Ruge logged into the game, retrieving his ‘backpack’ and taking out the pink Gacha Egg. He used his mouse to click on the Gacha Egg while his line of sight stayed upon the red streaks on his ankles and thighs, afraid to miss any changes in the red streaks.

The red streaks on his ankles consequently began glowing and burning.

Dang, Dang, Dang~

Name】: Diary

Quality】:Rare

Evaluation】: Although I don’t have any ill intentions, I will still secretly peek into your diary, ah~ All of your little secrets will be discovered by me!

Note: Diary. This game recognizes that all previously recorded interacted individuals can become ‘diaries’.

[Instructions: Select any character in the game to view their secret]

[Limitations: The selected individual must have a habit of documenting their secrets. Once selected, the target cannot be altered.]

There really were two lucky chances in one day!

However, this restriction was a bit difficult. He Ruge wouldn’t be able to find a target in such a short amount of time. Were there really any NPCs that used a diary in this game?

Maybe…he could have Little White Tiger cultivate a habit of keeping a diary from an early age, and once Little White Tiger was able to become humanoid and write in the diary, he could use the prop to peek into his heart!

Advertisements

Exactly how did Little White Tiger see him?

He manhandled Little White Tiger everyday, touching his head, touching his back, touching his paws. In the future, he also wanted to touch his bum, put his face onto his belly, and play with his tail. In Little White Tiger’s eyes, was he a pervert who coveted carnal pleasure, or was he a highly skilled masseuse?

If Little White Tiger could write a diary entry, the style might be something like:

Today, I was patted on the head. I’m finished. Patting the head makes you stop growing, angry.

Today, my paws were squeezed. Clearly, my claws are reserved for a beautiful and cute little tigress to hold, humph.

Today, I was rubbed on my bum. Damn, blame myself for being too cute, even my bum is adored by others.

After a long time, the little white tiger would become a big white tiger, and he would still keep the habit of writing in a diary:

Today, he wanted to touch my butt, and I bit off his head in one bite.

He Ruge: “……!”

This assumption was too horrifying, quickly halt!

He Ruge considered the prop’s applicable individuals. If he had to find an NPC [1], then perhaps it would be Crow?

He Ruge exited the Pink Gacha interface and went into the staff accommodations area. Crow wasn’t in the room, so He Ruge conducted a thorough sweeping search of the room, searching through both the ceiling and the bottom of the bed and clicking on every single item that appeared on screen. But, there was no shadow of a diary.

It seems he won’t find one.

However, He Ruge did pull out a small iron cage from under the bed. It was a tiny cage filled with a layer of dust.

Name】:Iron cage

Source】: Crow

Status】:Obsolete

Evaluation】:This is Crow’s cage. For Crow, this is an item that is of great significance to the Crow of the past.

Crow of the past.

This sentence looked a bit weird. It was significant to the Crow of the past, then does that mean it holds no significance to the Crow of the present?

The iron cages in this game were all used to hold experimental subjects, so this iron cage shouldn’t be an exception. Could it be that the experimental subject once locked in this small iron cage was very important to Crow, and later, when the experimental subject died, Crow quietly hid the iron cage as a memoir?

Death is like the extinguishing of a light, and with the passage of time, even the once treasured iron cage was left under the bed to gather dust.

This cage was so tiny, it could only perfectly fit a pigeon[2]. Then, he’ll just think of it as a female pigeon heroine.

As a writer on JinJiang, He Ruge’s brain filled in the holes with a sadistic love story. Crow is a cold-blooded and emotionless male lead, and he had a sadistic romance with the tragic female lead pigeon trapped inside the cage.

When He Ruge’s gaze swept across the center of the iron cage, he suddenly found that, underneath the thin layer of dust, there were a few scratch marks.

His mouse clicked on the iron cage, and with each tap, it removed some of the dust. After a few more clicks, there was less and less dust on the base of the iron cage, and a line of words appeared.

[Wu Yunlan] (Crow Yunlan)

Other than this name, there were also more strange scratches. When He Ruge was about to click on it again to wipe off the dust, the game screen suddenly changed——

Crow

[What are you doing?]

It was unknown when Crow arrived to stand in the doorway, staring expressionlessly at He Ruge, and He Ruge felt the guilty conscience of being caught on the spot.

[You find an iron cage under Crow’s bed, and a name is engraved inside the cage. You think it’s quite strange. You choose to: A. Ask who Wu Yunlan is. B. Say that you were cleaning and sanitizing]

There was only one save chance left and He Ruge didn’t want to waste the save.

Option A was too risky, so He Ruge hesitated for a while before choosing B.

You

[I was cleaning the room and found this iron cage underneath your bed.]

Crow

[Throw it into the dumpster site, ba]

Crow’s indifferent response made He Ruge slightly surprised. It seemed that Crow really didn’t care about the iron cage at all anymore. So then, why did he previously have to hide this ‘trash’?

Crow got on his bed and went to sleep.

He Ruge took the iron cage and walked out of the staff accommodation. He passed through the dark corridor and arrived at the lobby filled with countless iron cages.

Inside the cages were the corpses of experimental subjects.

He Ruge suddenly thought of a question – If all the ones inside the lobby were failed products of the “Death God’s Wings” experiment, then where did the successful products go?

Those successful products, because of the successful transplantation of Zerg wings giving them enormous capabilities, wouldn’t they come to despise Starry Sea Orphanage and want to exact revenge on those in Starry Sea Orphanage?

He Ruge clicked on the small iron cage again, wiping away all the dust in the cage. In addition to the name, there were also many vague characters and a few phrases.

 He Ruge: “…”

Okay, this hint was too obvious, I understand now.

The iron cage was the ‘diary’.

He Ruge used the rare prop ‘Diary’, and the small iron cage became wrapped in a yellow halo, transforming into a diary that recorded the history buried in the dust.

【I was selected to participate in “Death God’s Wings”]

【They cut off my wings and transplanted Zerg wings】

【I will definitely kill these people】

【The integration level of the Zerg wings was very high, I become stronger, I will kill them】

【I will definitely kill them all】

  ……

【Wu Yunlan】

The murderous intent between the lines could almost burst through the screen. However, the diary excerpts abruptly stopped there, and the yellow halo dissipated, changing back into the small iron cage. But, this time, the words previously carved onto the iron cage had disappeared.

It was the same with the name “Wu Yunlan”.

The small iron cage was still just as small. Small enough for a pigeon, and also enough for a crow.

Wu Yunlan was an experimental subject in Starry Sea Orphanage, and he was selected to participate in “Death God’s Wings”. In this organ transplantation experiment, he had lost his original wings, while the Zerg wings gave him strength.

He had used his claws to record the events in the iron cage, and the phrase he wrote the most times was “I will definitely kill them all”.

However, the deepest carved marking on the iron cage was his own name, “Wu Yunlan”. Perhaps, it was only through exhausting all of his strength to engrave this name that it was so deep not even dust could cover up its existence.

He must have wanted to never forget these three words.

At this moment, He Ruge suddenly felt that he had stumbled upon a cold, cruel truth–

Crow is Wu Yunlan.

The perpetrator was previously the victim.

It was unclear what happened in-between, but he now donned a length of white work clothes, wandering the inside of Starry Sea Orphanage like a ghost. No longer even owning his own name, he only carried a code name: Crow.

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 22 (Part 2) – His Name

Mentions of torture and cruelty. Nothing explicit

When Xi Guican logged into the game, he found that the game had already been fast-forwarded to the end of the Ice Project. Except for the altered variable Number 19, all other subjects had died as they did in reality.

Initially, Xi Guican was unclear as to why No. 19’s mental state was so stable, but since the last time He Ruge sang to Little Rabbit, Xi Guican understood the reason.

He Ruge’s singing voice contained a mysterious and powerful force. Xi Guican could feel that the power was not being fully exerted, but rather only a small portion of it was leaked. However, just that tiny leaked portion could already allow his shattered Spiritual mental consciousness that could have collapsed at any moment to stabilize.

Previously, He Ruge also sang for the Little Rabbit, and the Little Rabbit’s Spiritual Sea was baptized by this mysterious energy. The benefits Little Rabbit gained would not be less than his (XGC) own.

Although Xi Guican’s spiritual mental consciousness was not completely repaired, just allowing the condition to stabilize was already shocking enough.

Before yesterday, Spiraling Mental Consciousness Deficiency[1] was a baffling disease that made the Medicine Seeking Rat absolutely helpless. At the beginning, Mao Zixie[2] personally  informed Xi Guican that “Game Therapy” was the real game they created to treat this disease.

Xi Guican was growing more and more curious about who the divine creator of “Your Exclusive Lover” was, being able to gather all the information pertaining to Starry Sea Orphanage, treat Spiraling Mental Consciousness Deficiency, and create the character “He Ruge”.

After going offline yesterday, Xi Guican opened up “Game Therapy”. That game simulated the Intergalactic Wars battlefield in extremely high definition, replaying the fighting process between the Interstellars and the Zerg. Xi Guican tried it for only ten minutes before quitting the game because he found that the biggest effect of the game might only be allowing him to vent.

Whenever Xi Guican went out of control in the past, only killing could allow him to barely calm down. Mao Zixie’s group made that game based on those past experiences.

For the past him, killing was indeed the best pacifier. But now, it no longer was.

He Ruge.

Even just silently reciting this name in his heart, he could perceive a slight tingle of joy.

The door to room No.20 opened, and Little White Tiger raised his head to see He Ruge carrying an iron cage.

Heading to the new experiment site.

The little white tiger of many years ago had struggled frantically, not differentiating between good and bad (strategies) and planned to attack the staff in an attempt to perish together. Finally, after suffering a good deal, he was forced into the iron cage.

However, the little white tiger of the present was so docile that it was touching. Without anyone’s urging, he ran into the iron cage himself and even understandingly helped close the cage door.

The iron cage was picked up by a beautiful hand and, in this moment, Xi Guican suddenly produced a ridiculous illusion–

That his whole world was being embraced in the middle of He Ruge’s palm.

That palm which sometimes carried a hint of the scent of milk.

Xi Guican hated the feeling of being within someone else’s control, but currently he didn’t feel even half an ounce of disgust, and…was even relaxed.

The cage began to sway slightly with He Ruge’s motions. Though, it wasn’t bumpy since He Ruge carried it steadily and carefully.

Besides his ears came the sounds of No.19 Little Rabbit’s excited chirps. Xi Guican initially didn’t react to the situation, unable to understand what the Little Rabbit’s enthusiastic gibberish meant.

Advertisements

It wasn’t until he saw He Ruge’s body, face, and strands of hair gilded by the sunlight; those long, curly eyelashes also dyed a golden hue[3]. Half of the young man’s face was dipped in the middle of gentle sunlight, casting a golden spark in his black eyes.

So bright, so clear, so warm and so dazzling, like a person who had walked out from the light.

Xi Guican watched until his soul had left his body. From beginning to end, he never looked back at the sunlight outside the window which he had once yearned for.

Chirp~ It’s light~” Little Rabbit shouted gleefully.

Little White Tiger stared widely at He Ruge.

Yes, it’s Light.

It was the Light he wanted to pursue with his whole being.

Even though their next destination was the experiment site of “Death God’s Wings”, Xi Guican didn’t bear much negativity in his heart.

Upon entering Room “214”, Xi Guican saw the familiar Golden Python. Back then, only Xi Guican survived the Ice Project. He was hostile to all the staff of Starry Sea Orphanage, but he didn’t hate the experimental subjects who shared the same fate.

Perhaps it was because the Golden Python didn’t want to die quietly, leaving no trace of its existence after its death, so before its death, that Golden Python talked about his experiences to Xi Guican.

That Golden Python was called Xi Xing[4].

He said it was because the golden scales on his body were comparable to the stars in the sky[5]

His Zerg wings had been changed four times during the organ transplantation experiments of “Death God’s Wings”.

He explained that he wasn’t actually a failed product. When the Zerg wings were transplanted onto him for the first time, he had assimilated them perfectly. He was happy because he felt that he could survive.

But, Xi Xing did not expect that those people would actually carve out the perfectly transplanted wings from him.

“……’s Zerg wings are too inferior, this experimental subject can try wings of higher quality.”

And so, new Zerg wings were pressed onto Xi Xing’s still-bleeding wound. However, the energy contained in the new Zerg wings was far too domineering, and his body experienced a strong rejection backlash.

As a result, the new Zerg wings were once again cut out from the same wound, and he was refitted with the inferior wings that he had perfectly assimilated the first time. But, what was most lamentable was that because of the higher-level Zerg energy remaining in the body, he couldn’t even fuse the original Zerg wings, let alone reproduce the first perfect assimilation.

The person who’d performed the transplant operation was disappointed and had to attach the most low-quality Zerg wings onto him.

He’d been abandoned.

Yet, he had clearly once touched upon a hope to live. He’d been so close, so close that he actually believed he would survive.

The Golden Python was imprisoned in an iron cage and trapped in a strange, decaying body. His eyes could barely see, but he still raised his head with difficulty and said softly: “Actually… I was overjoyed when the first transplantation experiment succeeded because I thought I could live on – Live to one day leave this cursed place and fly free using those transplanted Zerg Wings……”

“……Fly high and far into the sky and become a star.”

When the Golden Python mentioned “stars”, those turbid eyes suddenly radiated a brilliant light.

A long time later, No. 20 had become so strong that he was no longer “No. 20”. No one dared called him “No. 20”, so he had to have a name.

A name to call his own.

He’d suddenly recalled that Golden Python. It’s said that after a person dies, their soul can turn into a star.

Then let him be called Xi Guican[6].

No matter what you have experienced in your lifetime, you can always turn into a star after death and shine forever[7].

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 22 (Part 1) – His Name

Hi All! Thanks for your patience. This chapter is split into 2 parts because of different warnings. Enjoy!

Warnings: Depictions of death, references to blood and torture. Nothing explicit.

Trigger warnings: Vermiphobia and Septophobia (I will include a warning at the beginning and end of the potential trigger.)

Organ transplant? Transplant Zerg wings onto the experimental subjects?

He Ruge suddenly remembered the mutated bat-like monster he saw on the fourth floor when he completed “The Mysterious Infirmary” side task (chapter 13).

It was just a quick glance, but it left a deep impression on him.

Could it be that his Little White Tiger would also have to become such a monster?

…… How painful would that be.

Transplanting organs that belonged to a different species like a patched up rag doll, not mentioning that the final appearance would make it difficult for the little white tiger to accept, but just the potential pain from the process of being sewn together was unimaginable.

Looking only at the second experiment’s description, He Ruge already felt it was unbearable. If the second experiment was already this painful, what about the experiments in the future? The third experiment, the fourth experiment…After going through all six experiments, even if the Little White Tiger didn’t die, he’d lose a layer of skin[1] .

Though he knew that this was only a game, He Ruge still felt a twinge of pain in his heart. If the goal of the game developer was to make the player feel distressed, then this game definitely succeeded.

Even He Ruge’s joy at the change in Maps[2] was dispersed by his heartache.

Ferret You opened the door to room No.19 and shoved the curled up rabbit ball into a small iron cage. At the same time, “himself” in the game also put the little white tiger into the iron cage.

Ferret You was not eligible to participate in “Death God’s Wings”, so he handed over the iron cage with the rabbit inside. Left hand carrying Little Rabbit and right hand carrying Little White Tiger, He Ruge walked out of room B6[3].

The guiding staff member did not speak from beginning to end while walking. The other party wore a protective mask and sturdy work clothes, and when they walked down the hallway, it was as though they were a wandering spirit.

The rabbit being carried in the cage by He Ruge was especially excited, chittering non-stop. He looked around hither thither, particularly when passing by the window at the end of the hallway. The little rabbit stared intently at that slice of sunlight, his ruby red eyes sparkling.

Compared to the easily startled and fascinated little rabbit, Little White Tiger’s reaction was very calm. He didn’t stare out the bright illuminated window; instead, he silently watched He Ruge.

The experiment site of “Death God’s Wings” was in Underground Level 2. When He Ruge walked into Underground Level 1, the Little Rabbit suddenly quieted down, nervously shrinking himself into a ball.

The underground floors were very dark, so dark that it seemed to be able to breed ghosts

When He Ruge saw the experiment site for “Death God’s Wings”, he could feel a surging chill even through the screen.

In front of his eyes was a grand lobby.

Countless iron cages were densely packed together, some large, some small. The large iron cages had more than enough space to contain an elephant, while the smallest iron cages could barely hold a hamster. The ground on which the iron cages sat was a deep shade of red that was closer to black. The original white floor was dyed a repressing new shade.

But, what made He Ruge’s back feel a chill was that inside all the iron cages, there only contained bones, like individual tombstones congregated in a mausoleum.

The staff who led the way kept their mouth shut and walked down the middle of the lobby without batting an eye. Not a single glance was given to the iron cages piled high like a mountain.

When they walked past the lobby, the staff member stopped, turned around, and pointed his finger in the direction of the lobby.

Crow

[That’s a garbage dump. In the future, when you see waste products, just toss them there. Scavengers will come deal with them.]

Past the lobby there was a dark corridor, on both sides of the corridor were tightly closed doors. Crow opened room “214”. Room “214” was a tiny room and He Ruge was surprised to see that in such a small room there was actually a large iron cage that occupied half of the room.

—- Trigger Warning: Vermiphobia and Septophobia

An enormous golden python was nestled inside the iron cage. On the snake’s back, there was a pair of extremely discordant fleshy wings. Compared with the huge size of the python’s body, the pair of fleshy wings was ridiculously small, and the area where the wings and the snake’s skin were joined had already began to rot, massed with writhing maggots.

—- Trigger warning end

Crow

[Although the room is a bit small, it will soon have available space.]

Crow’s implication was very clear – this golden python was about to die soon.

Burgundy snake pupils were clouded over with a sheen of gray. Although the space occupied by the golden python was big, it was completely motionless and quiet to the extent that it didn’t give off any presence of life.

When the little white tiger and the little rabbit’s small iron cages were placed in the corner of the room, the golden python suddenly hissed, scaring the little rabbit stiff with its abrupt movement.

The little white tiger glanced at the golden python, his blue eyes carrying traces of obscured pity.

Crow

[Fresh, raw materials will arrive tomorrow, and the new round of “Death God’s Wings” will officially start tomorrow. I will bring you to the staff accommodation area first.]

When He Ruge left room “214”, he was a little uneasy. Even if the golden python didn’t have much time left and was also locked in an iron cage, He Ruge couldn’t help but worry that it would act to harm Little White Tiger and Little Rabbit.

The staff accommodations area where Crow brought He Ruge to was at the end of the corridor. Between the two, besides being co-workers, Crow and He Ruge also gained the new relationship of being roommates.

In the “Ice Project”, the game never mentioned “his” own living environment. Why was there suddenly an additional staff housing part in “Death God’s Wings”?

He Ruge’s eyebrows furrowed, and he pushed at his glasses..

Crow

[The plans for “Death God’s Wings” will officially launch tomorrow. In the future, whenever you finish your tasks, you can choose to go rest in the staff accommodations area. Or, you can check the various rooms in the corridor, and if you see any dead experimental subjects, throw them into the garbage dump.]

As Crow was speaking, he removed his protective mask. Though the other party had black hair and black eyes, his facial structure was reflective of the three dimensional shape that Westerners had.

Crow

[You can open any of the doors along this corridor. Only the door at the other end of the hallway is restricted. You do not have permission, and even if you did, you still wouldn’t be able to open it.]

He instructed He Ruge word by word. There was not a single ripple in his black eyes.

Crow

[You must remember, curiosity killed the cat.

He Ruge originally didn’t have any intention of seeking death. But, as soon as he saw this sentence, it was like a cat claw suddenly appeared in his heart, scratching at it playfully and making his curiosity overflow.

He Ruge: “……”

[1]Even if he didn’t die, he wouldn’t look like or feel like himself anymore

[2] Maps: Locations in the game

[3] Reminder: B6 is the room that room No. 1~20 are in. Here, it would be more accurate to say Little Rabbit was in Compartment 19 of Room B6 and Little White Tiger was in Compartment 20 of Room B6

Chapter 22 Part 2 will be Xi Guican’s POV!

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 21 – Death God’s Wings

TL note: OOOOK So I guess I made the conclusion way too soon!!!! As of this chapter, HRG still believes himself to be a model straight man (laughs). In that case, ‘Close friends’ really means just ‘close’ ‘friends’. Nothing more. Sorry for the confusion!

Hangovers are a painful thing, especially so when the first thing He Ruge saw when he woke up was a terrifying game notification:

[Di—— The duration of the shielding monitor is up. It has been detected that the player has failed to exit the room. Automatically consumed Little Heart x1 to extend shielding monitor time.]

  ……

[Your Little Hearts balance is insufficient. You have been sent out of room No.20]

He Ruge: “!!!”

Is this game a demon?!

The impoverished He Ruge shakily turned off the game. For a moment, his heart was in so much pain (from loss of ‘money’) that he couldn’t breathe.

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Are you sober?”

After opening Penguin, He Ruge went silent.

His muddled and chaotic brain had a faint notion of the things he’d done previously, but the details weren’t very clear.

But, it didn’t matter. Chat histories were the best recorders of dark history. As long as he wanted to, he could go anytime and review all the stupid things he’d said before.

Emotionless Coding Machine: “It’s already noon of the next day. It can’t be that you are still asleep.”

Ruge: “……”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Yo, you’re awake. Can even type ellipses. It looks to me that you can still write. Friend, 10 thousand a day? 10 thousand a day, Friend?”

Ruge: “……Yes.”[1]

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Not calling me JiJi anymore. I am not used to this, Oh~”

Ruge: “……JiJi.”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Shut up! You are not allowed to say that name! Go write for me!”

After he finished writing, He Ruge opened up the game. He looked at his Little Hearts and remained silent for a long while. Without Little Hearts, he couldn’t block out the surveillance. If he were unable to block out the surveillance, then he couldn’t initiate intimate interactions. Being unable to initiate intimate interactions means there would be no more Little Hearts.[2]

Very nice, a perfect infinite loop.

Other than fast forwarding, He Ruge had no other options. He fast-forwarded another seven days. At the same time that Experimental Subject No.16 passed away, He Ruge obtained a new pink Gacha egg capsule.

When he used the mouse to click open the pink Gacha egg, the red streaks on his legs once again started heating up. He Ruge stared at the red streaks, and after the red streaks glowed and burned, it became dim.

He looked up and saw the new rare prop “Love Horoscope”.

The third time, this is the third time he drew a rare prop. Moreover, he was very much awake, unblinking through the entire process. He confirmed and was sure that the red streaks really emitted light.

Perhaps, probably, maybe I really…… was granted a golden finger?

From now onward, he could embark upon the path of becoming wealthy through selling high-quality equipment? No, it should be winning the lottery and striking it rich overnight?

He Ruge recalled the lottery ticket he purchased yesterday. The lottery draw date is today, if his hypothesis was true, then he ——

Will never have to do 10,000 a day anymore!!!

He would still definitely write words. Writing is a passion and he would write until the world was filled with love.

10,000 a day is too difficult. 3,000 a day is very comfortable.

The emotionally motivated He Ruge happily opened the (Lottery) webpage, and then expressionlessly exited out.

Didn’t win.

Dreaming is a good thing. In this materialistic society, people’s hearts were cold and ruthless, and only daydreams could retain a trace of warmth.

He Ruge thought back to his previous speculation about the red lines, which was that it could increase his luck but could only be used once a day. He drew props twice in the game yesterday and may have already spent yesterday’s luck. The lottery ticket was also purchased yesterday, thus the red lines did not activate its effects.

If the red streak really had an impact on his luck, then he could buy another lottery ticket tomorrow.

After straightening out the situation with the red streaks, in his heart, the fear of the unknown began to dissipate, instead replaced with a smidgen of uncertain joy.

Luck, this sort of thing, was a vague concept. This was like a gift from the heavens, but do meat pies really fall from the sky?

If there really was a red streak golden finger in this world, then what was the purpose and origin of its existence? What allows it to work? There should definitely be a reason as to why the red streaks can only be used once a day.

Perhaps, it is because it could only absorb enough energy each day for one use. The red streaks were hidden in his body, could it be that it absorbs his own vitality?

He Ruge was frightened by this speculation.

Wealth is valuable, but the value of life is even higher. Before fully figuring out the usages of the red streaks, he should not use it indiscriminately.

He Ruge stopped guessing randomly. He pushed up his glasses and looked at the new rare prop which was a peach-pink colored card.

[Name]: Love Horoscope

【Quality】:Rare

【Evaluation】:This is a compatibility tester, a fortune-telling divination prop. Results may not be 100% accurate, but the heart is sincere.

[Instructions: Disclose the type of person you like into the screen]

[Restrictions: Can only be used once]

Do the applications of the rare props in this game have such wide range? It couldn’t be another money scamming prop right? In the past, He Ruge had once casually clicked into a marriage compatibility website and seriously filled out his birthday year, month, day, and time[3], but when he clicked on the ‘measure’ button, a payment interface jumped out.

Poverty had always allowed He Ruge to deny feudal superstition.

Advertisements

He Ruge hesitated for a moment, and the figure of the male god in the military uniform from game’s the opening screen appeared in his mind. He whispered into the screen: “Must be handsome.”[4]

If they weren’t as handsome as his 2D lover, then what was the point of dating them? His 2D lover is great. Sexy and seductive in a military uniform and could even turn into a little white tiger to sell meng.

“The temper doesn’t have to be great” Since his own temper was good.

“But, must be good to me.” Even a person who’d spent many years alone would occasionally be caught off guard by sudden pangs of loneliness.

Just like yesterday, when he became drunk and laid his head on the table for the whole night. He woke up disoriented and sore with back pain. When he was struggling to stand up straight, he experienced a momentary sense of helplessness.

He’d also had extravagant expectations before. A thin blanket placed over his back, a cup of hot tea brought to his side, or even a belated embrace.

It seems…… he’d never received an embrace before.

Being hugged by another person, how would that feel? Would it be warm? It must be profoundly warm.

“Must like each other.”

The corner of his lips curved upwards, and He Ruge revealed a small smile, “And must have money.”

His mouse clicked on the peach-pink card and the card spun swiftly a few times. When it came to a stop, small pink words appeared on the screen.

[Marriage]: Peach Blossom Luck (very good luck in love)

[Fortune]: Prosperous Wife Life (Individual will bring prosperity to the person they marry)

[Divination]: Your fated person is a world-famous hero, one day you will bring forth seven-colored bubbles in search of him. From then onward, you will be together till your hair turns white.

Clearly, the connotations were very good, but why did He Ruge feel like something was off somewhere. He examined the results inside and out multiple times before he suddenly figured out what was off——

Prosperous Wife Life!

Ultimately, this game was truly prepared for young maidens. Not only was the game’s target population’s gender limited, but even the results of the compatibility test was prepared for the female audience.

He Ruge finished scolding this spicy chicken game, but still felt that something was weird. What exactly was off?

 —— Must be handsome.

In his mind, he recalled his own resolute words from before.

He Ruge: “…?!”

Why was his first response ‘must be handsome’, shouldn’t it be ‘must be beautiful’?!

Sure enough, games have a subtle influence on people’s thinking and perception. He blamed the game for leading him astray. He Ruge believed he was still a steel-straight man.

After He Ruge reassured himself, he re-entered the game. However, because he had no Little Hearts, he could only continue fast forwarding[5]. Very soon, he had collected 8 unopened pink Gacha egg capsules and had fast-forwarded up to the conclusion of the First Experiment.

[The “Ice Project” has successfully concluded

Total duration of experiment: 91 x 24 hours (91 days)

Survival rate: 10%

Surviving Experimental Subjects: No.19, No.20

Your performance during the experiment: Excellent (did not violate experimental regulations, successfully prevented Ferret Wei’s experimental subject harming behaviors)]

[Your excellent performance in the “Ice Project” was approved by Scorpion, and you received the the opportunity to participate in the second experiment “Death God’s Wings

This is an evil and insane organ transplantation experiment. The perverted experimenters in Starry Sea Orphanage believe that a Zerg’s wings are the cores of a Zerg’s strength. The low-intellect, high strength Zerg could fight against mechas because their Zerg Wings allowed them to fight against machines with their flesh and blood. If they succeed in cracking the Zerg’s genetic code and understanding their spiritual consciousness, they will be able to create the perfect fighting machine.

Death God’s Wings. When the God of Death spreads its wings and soars into the sky, even the sun’s glory would be overpowered.]

[1]Original: Ruge says “……Day.” In this case, ‘day’ is a verb, since Emotionless Coding Machine asks “can you day 10K?”

[2]This is like…. Need money, so need a job to make money. Needs a car to get to job. Needs money to get a car…have no money…have no car… thus, cannot get job

[3]original: 生辰八字, the 8 characters of birth, referring to Traditional Chinese time and dates

[4] Eyyy priorities~

[5]He could only fast-forward since he had no hearts to use to open the doors secretly
