SA Chapter 52 – Grave Sweeping

A drizzle of rain sprinkled down. The sky was stretch of gray. Heavy clouds covered the Earth, and the air was dull and depressing. The hazy rain curtain made the suburban cemetery feel cold. Two black cars slowly slid to a stop in front of the cemetery gate.

A group of brightly adorned, middle-aged couples alighted from the car in the front. The middle-aged man was still pretty resilient, sporting a black tux suit, and gloomily got off the car. But, the middle-aged woman next to him seemed to be only used to luxury, having a mouthful of complaints. When she got off the car, she exclaimed: “It’s so dirty, where has all the money been spent? Can’t they even repair this road ?!”

Auntie[1] Wang nodded humbly and helped the Madame hold the umbrella.

Just then, a pair of slender legs came out from the car behind. The youth’s fair-skinned hand gently stretched out to open the umbrella, and the sleek plain-black suit made him appear thinner than usual. He held the umbrella and passed by his aunt[2] who was still complaining, following his second uncle into the cemetery grounds.

Today was Old Master Rong’s death anniversary.

For the original owner, the death of his parents was a grievous memory in his childhood, but the departure of Old Master Rong became turning point in his life. Although the original owner become rebellious and strange because of the death of his parents, when the old man was still there, he didn’t dare to be so wild. Only until the death of the old man, when the last person who really cared about him was gone, did he become the way he was afterwards.

So, it was imperative that Rong Xu came today. Every year, the original owner came secretly, not following his uncle. But, Rong Xu’s memory did not contain the location of the old man’s burial site, so could only follow his Uncle Rong.

While the group entered the cemetery, Rong Heng walked in front gloomily, but Mrs. Rong was still complaining about this and that with Auntie Wang. Finally, even Rong Heng couldn’t continue to listen, and turned back to reprimand her. Who would have expected that Aunt Rong would glare back: “What, when your father died, I didn’t see you looking too sad, what are you getting angry at me for?”

Rong Heng’s face changed a few times, but he didn’t refute.

Rong Xu calmly listened to their arguments, walking for a while before finally reaching the Old Master’s grave site.

Steward Duan placed flowers and offerings on the site. Aunt Rong no longer had the audacity to complain further, and honestly gave the Old Master a bow. At this point, this simple ceremony was over. Aunt Rong complained about leaving. Rong Heng had wanted to stay for a while more, but couldn’t stand his wife any longer.

In front of the tombstone, there was only a youth left who was still standing tall and straight, holding an umbrella and staring at the picture in place.

Aunt Rong walked for a bit before turning back around, saying in a strange tone: “Oh, the big-name star is still looking? What filial grandchild are you pretending to be, when the old man died back then, didn’t you spend a lot of time outside and not want to come back? It’s too late to be sad, the old man can’t see it.” After a pause, she seemed to think of something suddenly, and giggled: “No, the superstar’s acting is so good, I must have some sort of misunderstanding.”

This sarcasm, Rong Xu didn’t take it to heart at all. He stared at Old Master Rong’s stern looking photo on the tombstone. After a while, he squatted down slowly and wiped the raindrops off the photo with his fingers.

Aunt Rong suddenly laughed: “Rong Heng, look at your nephew. His acting really is quite good.”

Rong Heng’s face also changed a few, saying loudly: “Rong Xu, what are you doing, why aren’t you coming.”

As if the youth didn’t hear them, he stared at the tombstone for a bit, closing his eyes and clasping his hands. After a while, he got up and left, this time directly bypassing Rong Heng and Aunt Rong, heading straight for the front gate of the cemetery.

Rong Heng’s face turned dark, and there was embarrassment on Aunt Rong’s face. She shouted loudly: “Rong Xu, what kind of education did you receive, when elders talk to you, don’t you reply?”

The youth continued to walk forward, completely ignoring these 2 people.

Aunt Rong was even more furious: “What. What are you doing. The quality of this Rong star’s namesake really is incomparable to this ordinary woman’s. Rong Heng, do you see this, your nephew’s wings have already fully grown and become a big star’s. Why would he be willing to talk to you.”

The group continued forwards. While walking, the complaints and ridicules of Aunt Rong were continuous. When they arrived at the gate of the cemetery, Aunt Rong sneered: “That’s right, you can’t blame others. The other’s mother never had the opportunity to teach him. Rong Heng, you also be considerately understanding of your nephew. Without a mother’s teachings, it would be fine as long as he didn’t kill or set fires … Ah! ”

Aunt Rong ‘s eyes widened in horror, and she unbelievably reached out to wipe the rain on her face, angrily shouting: “Rong Xu, what are you doing!”

Under the black umbrella, the delicate youth narrowed his eyes, and said lightly: “I don’t have a mother’s teachings, what do you say I did?”

Aunt Rong’s face was smeared with rain-moistened dirt. Rong Xu had flung off the drops of water from the umbrella onto her cosmetics covered face. These cosmetics already couldn’t cover her aging face. Coupled with her years of pampering, her face was blessed to appear like a white bun, and with the addition of excess foundation, it only resembled a white bun even more.

Aunt Rong was so furious that she couldn’t wait to go over immediately and bite the youth to death, but Rong Heng held her back and sternly reprimanded Rong Xu: “Rong Xu, how could you use violence. She is your aunt. Have you wings really hardened, capable of doing of anything. You dare to hit your own aunt, will you attack your uncle tomorrow!”

Saying that, Rong Xu was a bit surprised that Rong Heng could still hold back his temper.

“Second Uncle, I just tilted the umbrella, I didn’t expect Auntie to lean so close.” The boy raised his corner of his mouth with a smile on his face, “Second Aunt’s voice is so small, I thought she was scolding me from far away, but I didn’t expect her to be so close …” He blinked innocently. “If Second Aunt didn’t speak, I’m afraid I would have paid more attention.”

Rong Heng: “You!”

Aunt Rong: “Rong Xu, you come here!”

Looking at the nearby mirror and seeing her own reflection, ugly and fat, Aunt Rong finally exploded, pushing past Rong Heng to walk towards Rong Xu. As she walked, she said: “Today, as your elder, I will let you know what it means to respect the old and love the young,” and then reached over to grab the youth’s ears.

This action was very fast, such that normal people shouldn’t have been able to react, but Rong Xu dodged aside quickly, leaving Aunt Rong to grab at empty air and almost fall to the ground.

Aunt Rong hadn’t reacted yet and hurried to pull at Rong Xu again, but the youth successfully dodged another three times in a row.

One light-footed and nimble, one fat and awkward, Auntie Wang held the umbrella at the side while trying to persuade Aunt Rong. Soon, others in the cemetery who came to pray had noticed the situation, and started to point fingers.

When Rong Heng saw this, an ugly look flashed across his face, and he shouted angrily: “What are you doing? Don’t you feel ashamed of yourselves!”

The gathered audience finally saw clearly the faces of these people.

“Eh, isn’t this the Rong Family? Today seems to be Old Master Rong’s death anniversary. They are here to pray. How did they start arguing in the graveyard?”

“I remember that Rong Xu, didn’t our girl say a few days ago that she really liked this Rong Xu?”

“Why does she like Rong Xu, isn’t this Rong Xu a bastard and a hooligan?”

“You don’t know, this Rong Xu went to go become a celebrity, your girl likes him quite a lot.”

“If the girl likes him, then he must be good. That Rong Heng seems to be very harsh on this little nephew, you see, even with this large audience, his wife is going around hitting the nephew…”

The people who could be buried in this cemetery were all at least from wealthy families that knew all the trivial matters of B City.

Hearing these mutterings and discussions, Rong Heng only felt ashamed and that he had thrown away his face. His blessed wife was still chasing his nephew, wanting to hit Rong Xu. But, Rong Xu always kept calm and avoided her, deliberately only dodging by a little bit so that Aunt Rong would think she could catch him on the next try.

That kind of pampered body could still be considered passing if she sat honestly like a noble lady, but now she was like a barbaric village woman, hitting and beating. She disgusted him even more than a simple village woman.

Rong Heng’s face was so gloomy that he was about to drip water. He whispered to the steward beside him: “Why aren‘t you quickly pulling the Madame and Rong Xu apart!”

Steward Duan looked down while holding the umbrella, saying: “The Second Madame said we must formally educate the young master.”

The implication was that he could not interfere.

Rong Heng was so angry that his eyes were about to pop out, but this Steward Duan was already an old hand in the Rong family, and he also had a certain amount of status in Rong Family. He couldn’t make a move for the time being. So, when seeing Aunt Rong pulling at Rong Xu again and the people on the sidelines accuse him directly, Rong Heng rushed out from under the umbrella and dragged the woman back.

“Enough, stop fussing, we will talk when we get home!”

Aunt Rong’s mouth was still full of scolding, though, she no longer touched Rong Xu for the sake of Rong Heng’s face. Up until she walked out of the gravesite, she was still scolding. By the time she opened the car door to get on the car, she ridiculed again: “How can big stars still ride with us? Rong Heng, you also look highly on your Rong family. The other party is a big-name celebrity. They are different from us now.”

“Pa—”

The black umbrella snapped closed sharply, making a ear-splitting noise in the quiet atmosphere.

Aunt Rong’s words were suddenly interrupted and she turned her head to look at Rong Xu, only seeing in the hazy drizzle, the handsome and cold youth slightly raising his lips. His eyes stared at her calmly, and he said with a slight smile: “Auntie, naturally, big stars are different. Big-name celebrities…… can swallow you alive, do you understand?”

Suddenly, an oppressive pressure spread out over the cemetery.

Within the slight sprinkle of the rain, that pair of eyes were clearly smiling, but they were also were cold and deep. He appeared to be sitting upon a throne and looking down at this woman. His words seemed to be said jokingly, but the phrase “swallowed alive” hung heavily in her heart.

Suddenly, she felt a cold sweat, and Aunt Rong stayed in place with a stunned look on her face. Even when Rong Xu entered the car, her spirit didn’t return for a long time. After she got into the car, she still wanted to curse at Rong Xu, but although at this time Rong Xu was no longer in front of her, she dared not speak.

Whenever she tried to open her mouth to curse, those fierce eyes flashed through her mind, making her tremble as if something was pressing down upon her and preventing her from breathing. The hairs on her arm all stood up.

The grave sweeping ended like this. Rong Xu did not return to the Rong Family mansion, but separated from his Uncle and Aunt Rong at the intersection. When he left, his uncle and aunt did not get out of the car to send him off at all, but Rong Xu didn’t care. Holding the umbrella, he just walked away steadily.

Luo Zhentao drove to pick up Rong Xu and was surprised when he saw him alone. But, he quickly figured it out. He also complained a little: “When you said you were going to grave sweep with your uncle and aunt, I already didn’t think that was a good idea. Xiao Xu, I’ll bring you here in the future. You have a bad relationship with your uncle and aunt. It’s best to have minimal contact with them.”

Rong Xu closed his umbrella. When he heard those words, he said with a smile: “Then, next year I will have Brother Luo send me here.” After all, he already knew the exact location of the Old Man’s graveyard now and would not reveal his secret.

What happened today, Rong Xu did not tell Luo Zhentao, but Luo Zhentao should have been able to guess. With regard to the relationship between Rong Xu and his uncle and aunt, it was guaranteed that nothing good would have happened, nor would everyone have been cordial.

The situation passed just like this and Luo Zhentao began to talk about the MV recording situation for next day. Rong Xu nodded slightly, but his eyes slowly looked outside the car.

Dark black clouds covered most of the sky, pressing on everyone’s heart, as he replayed every scene that happened today in front of his eyes.

Aunt Rong’s foolishness and irritable temper, Rong Heng’s coldness and pretending to be indifferent, Steward Duan’s bystander stance, Wang Ma’s meekness and timidity … and Rong Heng’s eyes when he looked at his wife with a flash of disgust.

Since he is so disgusted, how could they live with each other and yet be fine?

Rong Xu leaned back against the car seat, his lips slightly tilted up, as if something he had discovered something interesting.

That night, Rong Xu made a phone call and calmly discussed the price with the party on the other end of the phone, fixing the time and content of the task. The next day, Rong Xu and Luo Zhentao arrived at a recording studio in the suburbs of B City. Before they had entered the door, a lady in fashionable dress walked over quickly, grabbed his hand, and said very excitedly: “Rong Xu? Rong Xu! I waited a long time for you, come quickly!”

The Author has something to say:

Qin Cheng Cheng: Today, why did you not let baby even show a name……

Sister Fu: This kind of scene, where do you think you can appear…….

[1] Auntie: similar to a housekeeper

[2] Aunt Rong: Father’s younger brother’s wife

What to Do When I Become a Koi and Fall into the Male God’s Bathtub

WDBKFMGB Chapter 9 – His Knight

Hello! I decided to pick up WDBKFMGB because I really enjoy the author’s writing style and beautiful descriptions. This will also be my first read-through, so I will be reading at the pace that I translate. Thus, I will not be able to answer any questions pertaining to future events in the novel.

I am translating this novel as something to take up my time during COVID-19 isolation. If the original translator decides to pick up the novel again, I will still finish translating all the chapters. Though, I will not post them onto NovelUpdates. Still, feel free to read whichever translation you like. 🙂 Remember to keep track of you health, everyone!

When the takeout arrived, He Ruge quit the game and searched up “Your Exclusive Lover” while eating the takeout food. To his confusion, no information was found for the game.

Is it possible that it was under the Beta phase?

How did he download this game? He Ruge found that he seemed to have amnesia. Did he ever download this game?

He couldn’t remember. Forget it, it wasn’t a big deal anyway.

By the time He Ruge finished the takeout, opened the documents and sorted out the details, it was already past nine in the evening. He Ruge was a very regular person; he went to bed early, got up early, and ate 3 daily meals on time. Thus, he turned off the computer and went to the bathroom to wash up before bed.

The bathtub was filled with warm water, and a little yellow ducky floated on top of the water. He Ruge’s cheeks had the red tinge from the evaporating heat as he stared at the little yellow ducky with affectionate eyes, turning it (around and around) with his fingers. He Ruge talked to himself: “Don’t look at me with such a cute expression while I’m bathing, I’m a little embarrassed.”

Killing the relaxed mood from bathing, He Ruge looked down at his feet—

A pair of slender legs overlapped each other, emitting an ivory glow under the water’s ripples, and strange blood-red lines emerged from the inner sides of his thighs, covering his skin like blood-red veined agate [1].

He Ruge flexed his legs experimentally and looked at the magnificent red, palm-length veins spread about.

The lines were neatly arranged, as if it was an uncolored drawing outline of fish scales. His fingers stroked along the red lines, feeling the smooth and soft texture. It looked like a unique tattoo.

(After the bath,) He Ruge hurriedly put on a bathrobe, opened Mother Du[2], and searched up “Strange diseases with red lines on legs.”

As we all know, one should go to a doctor when sick instead of searching randomly on Baidu, because if you search on the Internet, anything could range from a symptom of a cold to a fatal chronic illness.

He Ruge put down his cell phone with a pale face, and sat in a daze. After a long period of silence, he logged on to Penguin and said to his good friend: “I have a very important announcement for you. I may not be able to write any more in the future.”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “What’s wrong? Did you get angered senseless by your Sunspots[3]? You don’t need to mind those idiots. At a glance, you could already tell they’re all wretched males who want to seek revenge on society through the internet.”

He Ruge: “???”

What sunspots? He had been addicted to playing games all day and hadn’t (had time to) look at his comments yet.

However, this wasn’t the main point. He Ruge took a deep breath and typed sadly: “No, I ……”

He didn’t want to spread news that he might be terminally ill and make his good friend feel sad for himself, so He Ruge euphemistically said: “The world is so big, I want to go out and experience it.”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “You don’t have any money, are you going out to impoverish yourself to death? Can you even afford a plane ticket?”

He Ruge: “……”

The just-brewed bitter mood was completely wiped clean by poverty.

Advertisements

Emotionless Coding Machine: “You told me a few days ago that after entering V you’d have to work hard, otherwise you can’t even afford next month’s rent. Okay, okay, I understand. You work at a speed of 1,500, unlike my fast 5,000[4]. I’m not rushing you to complete 10,000 a day, but 6,000 a day is still necessary.”

He Ruge: “……Are you a demon?”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Enough. The stress (you feel) when you first start full-time work is quite high. If you’re sad, write. Turn your grief into strength. Your book is doing quite well. As long as you don’t collapse, I guarantee this book will explode (in popularity). If it doesn’t explode, I will live stream myself eating a keyboard. So, don’t worry for now.”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Right, are you going to do 10,000 a day tomorrow, too?”

He Ruge tremblingly typed: “…… one day. The sky will collapse, but updates still need typing.”

Emotionless Coding Machine: “Your learning capacity is good. If you don’t reach 10,000 a day tomorrow, I will kill you. I am going to go watch videos first, not chatting anymore. waves

He Ruge touched his face and then remembered that his good friend had said there were sunspots in the comments.

Brushing hate[5]

He exited Penguin, opened JinJiang[6], and numbly clicked on his own work.

An eye-stinging “-2” showed up on the screen.

The fire setting negative comments were a whole block of text:

Netizen: Review for Chapter: 18   Rating:
The author described the antagonist in such a detailed manner, afraid that the author themself is that kind of disgusting person.

1L: Qiu Qiu (Ball)
Afraid they are not okay

2L: Summer’s Popsicle
You are the one who is disgusting

3L: Revenge on Society
Peh, I can do it, I have many moonstones. Scold me that I am, too. I also won’t be courteous.

Netizen: Review for Chapter: 7   Rating: -2
Really Interesting.

1L: Emotionless Coding Machine
It is not the author who sprayed you, why are you brushing hate on the author? The author worked hard to write, and you’re ranting your emotions like this?

Revenge on Society: Even this kind of disgusting person can become popular (-2 points)
Revenge on Society: Really good to see (-2 points
Revenge on Society: Really, Really good to see (-2 points
Revenge on Society: No logic, hypocritical (-2 points
Revenge on Society: The emotions come from nowhere, Mary Sue’s (-2 points
Revenge on Society: The author needs to hide his face a bit (-2 points

This kind of person, at an immediate glance, was someone suffering from reality. So, he puts on a vest and retaliates on the Internet. He Ruge had seen much (in life) already, so he calmly reached over to click the report button, until he saw the latest negative comment:

Revenge on Society: The author is so disgusting, it’s obvious that this person does not have a mother’s teachings, whole family is dead[7].

Finally, there was a crack in his calm expression. He Ruge’s sight fell on the ID name; his hands clenched slowly and his nails pierced into his flesh, but He Ruge appeared to not have noticed.

He seemed to be able to hear the deeply buried grief in his heart springing out of his chest, falling and falling deeper into the abyss where the end was nowhere in sight.

He Ruge was an orphan. He didn’t know who his birth mother, whom he had never met, was, what their name was, whether they were living or dead, and why they didn’t want him.

Although, he also sometimes hated the woman who abandoned him, he never allowed anyone to insult her.

The youth sat motionlessly in front of the computer, remaining as still as a silent sculpture for a long time before raising his hand rigidly and scrolling down through the comments section.

All the disgusting words that should not be seen, He Ruge read through them completely like self-abuse. He was a relatively new writer, with an update time at 12 noon, and it was currently 10 pm. Most readers who followed him would not look at the comments section at this time of day.

Except for really close friends, there would be no one else who communicated with him.

The increase (in views for his work) was stagnant, but the comments section was a field of scolding, which greatly affected the opinions of passers-by. Originally, (the comment numbers) would rise more than more than 20 posts an hour, but it was now unmoving.

(He Ruge’s) fingertips trembled slightly, and he slowly tapped on the keyboard in reply: “Please mind your words when you speak.”

A strong logical mentality was the only reason why he didn’t retort with anything as improper as the opponent’s (words). He Ruge pushed up his glasses and reported each negative rating, reporting them as “purposely malicious negative comments.” However, while he was using the computer, JinJiang froze again, and the reporting interface was kept on the loading screen.

In this era, keyboard masters could easily hide behind a screen to curse at people. It wouldn’t them cost much to utterly destroy the work of small, transparent authors.

Entrusted with his efforts and dreams, (his new work) would be trampled all over, just like that.

His straight back suddenly bent over, as if overburdened by weight of carrying too much harvested rice[8].

He Ruge took off his glasses, pushed aside his keyboard, and lay silently on the table.

The inexplicable red lines on his legs appeared in his sight, and He Ruge felt that all of his strength was swallowed up by those lines. His remaining life seemed to begin its countdown. Maybe in the next second, or even tomorrow, he would leave the world early, leaving everyone behind, leaving holes unfilled and readers waiting to be fed.

 If he……. were to die.

Would anyone feel sad for him? Who would be the first to find him dead? Maybe it would be the landlord who came to collect rent. If the house had a death, it must be difficult to rent out in the future. Thinking about it … he felt sorry the owner, too.

Under the shadows of death, many memories played out like marquees (in his head).

He Ruge remembered the few deposits left on his bank card. The rent for next month was one thousand, and he would donate (the remaining) five hundred to the orphanage next month.

Next month was his birthday.

In fact, he really wanted to own a cat

He wanted to get a cat on his birthday and fulfill his long-time wish, so that he could have one more company. A full-time, lonely, single person, having cats would make him much happier.

But now it seemed unlikely. He didn’t want the cat to follow him to eat dirt.

His head was in chaos, his desires and reality were fighting [9]. He Ruge remembered that when he visited the forums a few days ago, a full-time author posted a flaunting post. The full-time girl had cats and dogs. Her family supported her choice to write articles. She didn’t have to do housework or worry about what to eat for three meals a day. Her parents always couldn’t help showing her off, even if she was just a common street writer.

Her parents would be proud of her and say- our family’s child is a famous author.

 Our family’s……

Unsure why, that phrase touched He Ruge’s weakest point. He didn’t know whether it was because he was envious or jealous, but he wanted to store away that sense of overflowing happiness that seemed to flow between the lines of those words.

Soon, He Ruge fell asleep in front of the computer. He dreamt that his body was covered with strange red stripes and everyone avoided him. He fell into poverty and was forced to sleep on the overpass. Over there was a stray cat under the overpass, all skin and bones, but still fierce and frightening. He took a closer look at the kitten–

It looked exactly like his little white tiger!

The original nightmare turned into a beautiful dream, and He Ruge woke up unexpectedly calm. Instead of looking back at the comments section, he opened up “Your Exclusive Lover”.

The game popped up the daily check-in screen. (Checking-in for) seven consecutive days would get you a chance to draw a prize. He Ruge clicked to sign-in and took the bottle to go feed the cubs.

He consumed one little heart and opened the iron door of Room 20, looking at the little white tiger lying on the cotton nest. The Little White Tiger still has a bad look on its face, as if the whole world owed him money. He was as fierce as he was in the dream.

However, He Ruge felt like he was cured. He looked down at the back of the little white tiger who started drinking the milk and felt that the pressures weighing down on his back had lessened a great deal.

The round tiger ears trembled, and the little white tiger suddenly turned his head, its watery blue eyes staring at He Ruge. Its gaze looked so serious that even the milk stains on the corners of his mouth were affected by such a serious expression … becoming even more meng.

The corner of his mouth couldn’t help rising, and He Ruge held out his hand, placing his fingertips on the screen over the position of the little white tiger’s forehead. He tapped on it softly.

Flicking its tail, the Little White Tiger turned his head and finished the milk in a few sips. Then, he placed the bottle in front of He Ruge and sat with a very proper posture that made it seem as though it wanted to hold a formal discussion with He Ruge.

If it was a normal day, He Ruge would definitely [talk] [touch] [feed], but today he didn’t have such a leisurely mood. For the sake his dog life, he had to go to the hospital to see a doctor! He believed he could still be saved!

Thus, when He Ruge went offline, he missed the Little White Tiger’s … serious and angry expression!

*

Xi Guican sat his butt down on the cold hard floor, not even in the mood to move to the soft cotton nest.

What happened?

He was very tired yesterday and directly slept in the game cabin. But, no matter how good the game cabin was, it wouldn’t be as comfortable as a large bed. Xi Guican was going to go offline after waking up, but then he looked at the time and saw that it was almost mealtime.

En, it’s not because he wanted to see He Ruge first thing in the morning, he just wanted to drink some warm, hot milk. That’s why he continued to lie in the game cabin.

However, what Xi Guican didn’t expect was how his heart’s desired He Ru …… No, no, it was when his heart’s desired breakfast came, He Ruge left immediately after leaving the milk?!

Was this proper?

There was no candy to eat, and no song to listen to. Now, he wasn’t even willing to talk to him? He didn’t smile when he saw him, and his face was sad and melancholic. Was he losing his charm, or did the game program break from a bug[10]

The Little White Tiger acted like a sorrowful woman left alone in a vacant house, miserable and pitiful.

But, when he was about to go offline, he suddenly heard a sound from the game:

[Di – – “You Exclusive Lover’s Guardian Knight” is officially beginning!

There is a theory in love called “The more you pay, the more you care”. Love that has not been paid for is not satisfactory.

Your exclusive lover, He Ruge, has encountered difficulties. He Ruge wrote posts in JinJiang Literature City, and a keyboard master who was retaliating against society appeared in the comments area to curse at He Ruge.

As his lover, are you willing to protect him like a guardian knight, defend him, escort him, and create a safe haven for him?

If you are my guardian angel, then I will be your guardian knight ※】

The Little White Tiger who originally sported a bad expression, at this time, showed a terrifying one.

—— Who dares bully my people?
—— I’ll bite them all to death!

The Author has something to say:

Little theaters should be read separately from the original texts. The character’s real personalities are still the ones in the text.

Little theater 1:
Xi Guichan: Tigers don’t show their power, pretend I am HelloKitty

Little theater 2:
He Ruge: I have an incurable disease, I’m going to die young, I haven’t even had time to get a cat, wu wu wu wu~~
Author: … No, you are just going to become a fish man…

[1] Agate: type of stone with colored veins

[2] Baidu (China’s equivalent of Google)

[3] Sunspots: hater fans (or anti-fans)

[4] writing speed, characters per day

[5] Brushing Hate: Writing negative comments

[6] JinJiang: JJWXC

[7] WTF?! why would you even say this?!

[8] Back hunched over: can be taken metaphorically to represent someone overburdened by their responsibilities and ambitions

[9] His desires and reality were fighting: The Chinese phrase usage doesn’t translate well into English. Originally it was: Herb rice oil salt sauce vinegar tea were arguing. The base meaning is that everything deemed necessary was not in tune with one another, Ru Hege could not obtain everything he wanted and needed

SA Chapter 51 (Part 2) – “Lost Wings” CD Single

Part 2 is up! Enjoy!

In the evening of the same day, Zhao Chuyun vigorously drafted 3 copies of a contract and finalized the contract with Rong Xu.

Originally, Luo Zhentao wanted to say “people who are part of Huaxia Entertainment can just follow the company’s internal processes,” but Zhao Chuyun rejected it and instead carefully stored the finished contract.

When everything was completed, Zhao Chuyun’s face finally showed a sincere smile. She personally sent Rong Xu downstairs. When she brought the two to the elevator, she stared deeply at this young and beautiful youth, and then she gave the other party a brief hug.

Rong Xu accepted the hug generously, and when he was about to let go, he heard Zhao Chuyun whisper by his ear: “You don’t look a lot like him, but your presentation of him is really great.”

After a slight pause, Rong Xu whispered: “Thank you for your flattery.”

When they finally bid goodbye to Zhao Chuyun, Luo Zhentao said emotionally: “Although I guessed that Zhao Chuyun allowing you to sing “Lost Wings” had ulterior motives, I never expected that she wanted to donate all the profits to a foundation.”

Rong Xu glanced at Luo ZhenTao and raised an eyebrow: “You guessed it early on, Brother Luo?”

Luo Zhentao chuckled awkwardly: “Of…… of course I thought of it.” Without giving Rong Xu time to think about it, Luo Zhentao quickly added: “As the main producer of the single, Zhao Chuyun should have everything under tight control. The song recording is already long done, what’s left is to shoot the MV. Next week, you will start the promotion for Black Clouds and also participate in three variety shows. So, Xiao Xu, we are going to shoot the MV within this week. I am afraid Zhao Chuyun will give us a notice of the schedule tomorrow.”

Rong Xu lowered his head gently, and without exposing Luo Zhentao’s lies he said: “Coincidentally, I have nothing going on this week. I have all the time in my hands, Brother Luo.”

Luo Zhentao laughed and passed over the issue.

The Rongyun Foundation was a foundation established by Ling Xiao when he was alive, dedicated to donations for children in poor mountainous areas. Throughout all these years, it had already funded hundreds of Hope Primary Schools. After Ling Xiao’s death, this foundation was handed over to and run by Zhao Chuyun.

Although “Lost Wings” had had yet to be released, the potential income for the single would definitely not a small amount. In the face of this much money, it would take a great deal of determination to donate it all. So, when Rong Xu agreed without hesitation, Zhao Chuyun was also quite surprised.

It can be said that, for singing this song, Rong Xu’s only gain would be fame, he was able to sing the music god’s song, but would not receive any income.

Even Luo Zhentao felt a little apologetic for Rong Xu. Even if he were to get only one-tenth of the profits, it would still be good. But when he mentioned it, Rong Xu only smiled and said calmly: “Perhaps in the future, you would also have to help me run a foundation like Sister Zhao, Brother Luo.”

Luo Zhentao was stunned and turned to look at Rong Xu. But, at this time, Rong Xu had already lowered his head to turn on his phone and started to look at the latest entertainment news, making it seem as though he just said that casually.

When Rong Xu returned home, he unexpectedly did not see a glimpse of Qin Cheng.

In the empty house, no one had turned on the lights. When the switch was pressed, the lights illuminated the silent house, making it look a bit lonely. Rong Xu looked around before finally determining that Qin Cheng really wasn’t there.

He hung his clothes in his closet, and when he walked to the dining room, he suddenly saw a note on the table.

I have sudden work to discuss, may come back late at night

On the small piece of paper, the black ink stained the shallow and delicate lines, contrasting black on white, and the ink glimmered slightly under the light. The words held strength, vigorous and powerful, and each stroke was sharp and domineering. Even if it was only printed on a thin piece of paper, a cold and insurmountable strength could be seen.

Rong Xu looked at it for a moment before placing it back onto the table. After he had casually cooked a bowl of noodles and sat by the dining table, he couldn’t help but pick up the paper to glance at it again.

His eyes roamed the small piece of white paper. After a while, the youth raised the corner of his lips and pressed the white paper down with his index finger.

”These words are so good looking…… Handwriting reflects the person?”

After eating the noodles, Rong Xu went to the theater room to watch a foreign film before resting.

He had only come to this world for a short period of time. If he wanted to understand the situation within the circle, he couldn’t only focus on the surface news, he also had to watch the movies.

During the afternoon, Qin Cheng had already said that the DVDs in the cabinet of the movie room could be viewed without worry. So, Rong Xu flipped through the foreign film selections in it and saw several famous, Oscar-winning movies. He had planned to take one of them out to take a look, but he suddenly froze.

The youth’s gaze was fixed on a nearby DVD for a long time. After a while, he pulled out the foreign film he originally wanted to watch and inserted it into the DVD player. The opening song of the movie soon sounded. With the melodious and gentle music, Rong Xu didn’t walk to the sofa to sit down, but rather went back to the cabinet again and pulled out a specific DVD.

On the DVD box, a bright red rose was printed on it. The words Blood Rose came into Rong Xu’s view, and below those two words, the names of the director and the lead actor were printed in the second largest font.

Director Liu Sheng, male lead Chai Minglang, female lead … Xia Muyan.

After examining this DVD box for a while, Rong Xu put the things back in the cabinet, silently turning to watch the foreign movie.

At this moment, a certain man who was reading the new script at Huaxia Entertainment suddenly felt a shock. His handsome eyebrows narrowing slightly, Qin Cheng looked up at the manager playing on his phone not too far away, and then looked back down at the script. After determining that nothing was out of the ordinary, he continued to read the script.

…… was there really was nothing abnormal?

Wasn’t it in your own words that, within your DVD collection, Xia Muyan’s only film was The Story of Hongmen Banquet?

Then, the other party’s Golden Phoenix Award -winning film Blood Rose, did you eat it, did you eat it, or did you eat it?!!

In any case, after Rong Xu finished watching this warm-hearted, feel-good foreign film, Qin Cheng still did not return. Rong Xu slightly washed up and prepared to rest. When he was about to enter the bedroom, he thought for a bit, and went into the theater room, helping the man find the seven DVD films with Xia Muyan in them.

Among them, Xia Muyan was the female lead in five movies and the second female lead in two movies. Only the single The Story of Hongmen Banquet had Qin Cheng as a guest star. No other films had any sort of connection with Qin Cheng.

Staring at these seven DVDs, Rong Xu slowly raised the corners of his mouth and one-by-one helped Qin Cheng place these DVDs at the corners of the cabinet (all difficult to spot places). After doing these things, the youth nodded with satisfaction and whispered to himself: “I guess you forgot about these movies?”

Though he said that, the youth’s smile only became deeper.

Completing everything well, Rong Xu returned to his bedroom in satisfaction and turned on his phone to browse through Weibo for a while.

[Rong Xu: I have learned a lot from working with my seniors, hearts [heart] [heart] [heart] // Black Clouds crew: The first group of the ultra-luxury guest lineup……]

After this Weibo post was updated, Rong Xu looked through the fans’ responses. The current him as already able to calmly accept the exaggerated words of the fans, what “Rong Rong I want to bear little monkeys for you”, “Every day I want to lick Rong Rong a hundred times”, these were all simple and commonplace.

But this evening, just as Rong Xu was about to fall asleep, a phone call came over from an unknown number.

When the call was answered, a calm voice on the other side of the phone sounded over: “Little Master, in two days it will be the anniversary of the Old Master’s death, do you need me to drive over and pick you up?”

The Author has something to say:

Qin Cheng Cheng: Hmm? Did baby forget to do something? En, over thought it, didn’t forget anything.

Sister Fu: Dong. The other party has already discovered and grabbed your tail!!!

TL corner: Ahahahaha Qin Cheng was EXPOSED!! RX was kind enough to turn a blind eye to your self-advertisement, QC.

On another note: Chapter 52 is shorter than 50 and 51, so the whole chapter will be posted sometime within the next 2 or 3 days. Also, could someone let me know if the font size is alright? I received a message that the font on tablet mode is too small. Thank You!

SA Chapter 51 (Part 1) – “Lost Wings” CD Single

Here’s part 1 of Chapter 51, part 2 will be up soon. Enjoy!

Since the sudden release of last time’s trailer, Black Cloud’s official site had been silent for more than ten days, not even a new Weibo update had been posted. What was truly unexpected was that when they didn’t update, it was nothing, when they did update, it was terrifying!

Jennifer Arcland, Xia Muyan, Liu Zhen …

The official site directly tagged more than ten or so big-name celebrities, including Britain’s new Oscar winning film empress, Jennifer Arcland; Huaxia’s Golden Phoenix Award winning film empress, Xia Muyan; and the most famous love song singer of the country, Liu Zhen.

Since HuaXia’s film enthusiasts and music enthusiasts were all more accustomed to using Huaxia’s Weibo instead of foreign applications such as Twitter and K, these big-wig stars all had their own personal Huaxia Weibo accounts.

The Black Clouds crew directly tagged (@) these people. Originally, many netizens were wondering “did the staff make a mistake, why did they suddenly tag so many big-name celebrities.” But after watching the trailer stream, they were all shocked speechless.

In this video, the edited clips all showed the appearance of these big-name stars!

The entire video was only around 40 seconds, only showing netizens some faces, and then switching to the next person.

The speed of the scene changes in the video was incredible. Sometimes, you didn’t even have time to say that star’s name in your heart before the it already changed to the next person. These people, placed within Huaxia would all be first tier stars, the same as Tang Menglan’s (唐梦岚 tángmènglán) level. Among them were the big-shots such as Jennifer Arcland and Xia MuYan.

And like just like this, the official blog also said ——

 The! First! Set!

[If this was the first set ……. Could it be, there would be many, many more big-shot stars? Oh my goodness, I just knew Black Clouds seemed to have invited lots of celebrities to come guest star, but you can’t just invite this many stars, even the level is so high!]

[6666666This film crew really knows how to play. Just based on these many stars, the movie ticket money would already be worth it, I RSVP!]

[AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH Goddess Jennifer is also in it! I want to watch, I want to watch! Please release the movie soon, I can’t wait to contribute my money to the crew! Please quickly come take my money, hurry up!!!]

Of course, there were some netizens who thought of other things.

[With these big-name stars, will the male and female leads have their spotlight stolen? Yu Siyu is okay, but Rong Xu …… is too far away from these big-shots. This kind of movie, would it really be good?]

A rookie newcomer star could actually stand on the same stage as so many high-level stars!

If it weren’t because of Ling Xiao’s popularity and great global influence, then this was definitely surpassing the Heaven and Earth.

At the same time, this is also testing the male and female leads’ acting skills and aura, to see if they can overpower these big stars and see if they can keep the audience’s attention away from those high-level celebrities.

Many netizens were all wide-eyed and anticipating, hotly discussing Black Cloud’s luxuriously guest lineup and looking forward to the movie’s release.

Everything should have its own strength speak for itself! Good acting is good acting, a good movie is a good movie. There was less than a month left before they would see! And when the netizens were in the middle of hotly discussing, Rong Xu and Luo Zhentao had already arrived at Huaxia Entertainment’s building.

Luo Zhentao reached out and pressed the “47 floor” button in the elevator and said, with a smile, to Rong Xu: “Xiao Xu, you may not be familiar with Zhao Chuyun personally, but when you are filming, Yu Siyu plays her character. She is one of our company’s gold-tier agents. In those years, she was the one who discovered and created Ling Xiao. Later, after Ling Xiao passed away, she managed the current love song empress, Zuo XinYi. I am not too familiar with her, but I’ve heard that she is a very fair person.”

Although Black Clouds is a biographical movie, it was impossible to present only the facts. For example, the Zhao Chuyun played by Yu Siyu and the real Zhao Chuyun would definitely have some differences, but to get Luo Zhentao’s “fair person” evaluation, they must be a decent manager.

Rong Xu smiled and nodded, saying, “I heard that she paid for Xiao Xiao’s funeral out of her own pocket that year, and prevented the media from taking photos of it. So … Brother Luo, I don’t think you need to be nervous.”

Luo Zhentao was a bit stunned, and then laughed twice: “You found out. No matter how you say it, she is still my superior. I heard that she’s even fired a few agents in the past……”

Rong Xu raised an eyebrow in amazement: “Brother Luo, didn’t you just say that is Zhao Chuyun is a fair person?”

Luo Zhentao quickly waved his hand: “She is fair, but she also truly did fire many agents for the company……..” Saying this, Lou ZhenTao couldn’t help but cold sweat, seemingly hiding some small secrets.

Rong Xu didn’t show much interest in the matter between agents; he just smiled and changed the topic.  The two quickly reached the forty-seventh floor and, led by Luo Zhentao, came to Zhao Chuyun’s office.

It happened that Zhao Chuyun was on the phone then.

She apparently didn’t expect that Rong Xu would show up today. Luo Zhentao said over the phone that he had to discuss with Rong Xu and wait 2 days for a proper reply. But only a few hours had passed since then, and he was already standing in front of her.

After speaking two words on the phone, Zhao Chuyun hung up and walked up to Rong Xu and Luo Zhentao. She personally made tea for the two and led them to sit on the sofa before sitting on the opposite sofa herself.

Zhao Chuyun raised her head and glanced over Luo Zhentao before her eyes fell upon Rong Xu.

With crisp, short black hair, and wearing a white shirt and professional attire, Zhao Chuyun sported an ordinary face that was a far cry from Yu Siyu who plays her character. However, she was still very good to look at. She was obviously 47 years old this year, but she maintained herself well and only appeared to be in her thirties. She was dressed plainly, didn’t wear earrings, rings or necklaces, and had applied an elegant-style makeup.

She inspected Rong Xu carefully, and Rong Xu also looked at her with a smile.

After examining the other for a while, Zhao Chuyun said a few polite words and then went straight to the main topic: “”Lost Wings” was Ling Xiao’s final piece. Afterwards, he fell ill and was hospitalized and later died, he never had the chance to produce this song with a recording group. The crew gave me the finished recording of the song yesterday. I listened to it and decided to find you.” After a pause, Zhao Chuyun stood up and said: “Rong Xu, I want to work with you to release “Lost Wings’s” single.”

Before they came, Rong Xu had already learned about this proposal idea from Luo Zhentao, and now Zhao Chuyun said it directly, formally and sincerely.

Ling Xiao had no close relatives, he never married and had no children. After his death, the closest person should be his agent and friend Zhao Chuyun, and maybe He Xinrou to add another.

The song “Lost Wings” was completed solely by Ling Xiao, and now the copyright was in the hands of Zhao Chuyun. Ling Xiao had been gone for three years already, and this song was never released. Now that Black Clouds was about to be released, Zhao Chuyun wanted to make this song rise, and it was quite understandable why.

Being able to sing Ling Xiao’s songs, especially an original song that even the person himself had never performed before, would be an absolute dream for many artists. However, in the face of such a big pie falling from the sky, Rong Xu didn’t excitedly accept it. Instead, he pondered for a moment and asked: “Sister Zhao, do you have any opinions or comments about this cooperation?”

Zhao Chuyun’s eyes flashed with surprise, and she glanced at Luo Zhentao, only to find that Luo Zhentao was staring, stunned, at herself.

An unknown feeling was raised in her heart and Zhao Chuyun placed down the cup that was in her hand, laughing: “There is indeed a comment. I wish to donate all the revenue from this single to the Rongyun Foundation. This is my only request and I will not compromise.”

Luo Zhentao opened his eyes wide in surprise. Rong Xu also gave a slight reaction, and then smiled and said, “That’s fine.”

Luo Zhentao immediately turned his head to look at Rong Xu, but only saw the latter look calm, a serene smile on his lips.

After Rong Xu agreed to the proposal, Zhao Chuyun immediately became more active. She quickly contacted HuaXia Entertainment’s B City music department director, finalizing the details of the single’s production. Rong Xu’s recording of “Lost Wings” in S city was good enough so there was no need to record again. The next thing was to shoot and publicize the MV.

Translator’s Notes: I’ve decided to break the longer chapters down into 2 parts so that I could increase my post rate. I also realized that my translation efficiency was slightly lacking, as I had been translating the chapters like professional documents, one line at a time (and gave myself a migraine LOL). For this chapter, I tried translating as I listened to the read-aloud. So, if I am missing anything, please let me know! I will be trying out a translation program next chapter to compare efficiency. Thank you!

SA Chapter 50 (Part 2) – He is so Good, No One Should Think of Stealing Him!

Here’s part 2 of Chapter 50! Enjoy!

It was certainly a little awkward watching a movie with the person who starred in it. But with the official start of the movie, the intense plot quickly drew Rong Xu in, making him not think any more about it. Beside him, the film emperor who played Xiang Yu also watched the movie calmly, but his attention was not focused on the movie, as he kept secretly stealing glances at the boy next to him.

The Story of Hongmen was a movie that Qin Cheng starred in seven years ago. At that time, he was 20 years old and had not yet filmed Mu Sheng. When the film crew announced that he would play Xiang Yu, he received the opposition of many film enthusiasts, and there were also objections within the circle.

Xiang Yu was a very domineering man, could a just-20-year-old youth really portray him well?

Facts proved it. For this film, Qin Cheng was later nominated for three awards and gained the favor of the top director in HuaXia, Old Zhu, who named him to star in Mu Sheng. Finally, he became the global top star Qin Cheng.

Many fans have said that out of all of Qin Cheng’s roles, their favorite was the third son, Lu Musheng, but the one that had females most obsessed was Xiang Yu. Xiang Yu was powerful, with a matchless aura. A real man with the endless domineering power of a leader could attract women with their bold and extravagant male charm.

Qin Cheng’s The Story of Hongmen portrayed the King of Chu (see Hongmen Banquet) and caused countless women to become obsessed.

…… So that is to say, this movie was his (Qin Cheng’s) most masculine film role, it should have some effect, right?

Qin Cheng glanced at the fascinated teenager and thought silently.

The two-hour movie ended quickly. The tale of Chu King and Consort Yu Ji, death by the Jiang river (notable and common film scenes). When the fierce battle between Chu and Han ended by the Jiang river, with the tragic background music, the camera slowly panned out, leaving only the continuously flowing waters of the Jiang river which would last forever like the years of history.

A good movie, for many of those who watch it, would have a lasting impact and make people revisit it. This movie was obviously a superior work. Rong Xu still remembered the laughter and scoldings of each character in the story. Even the seemingly most simple and ordinary Liu Bang had a multifaceted and three-dimensional character image.

Not to mention the main characters, Xiang Yu and Yu Ji.

After watching the movie, the two left the theater room. While making coffee, Qin Cheng casually said: “How was it, the movie?”

After watching such a good film, Rong Xu naturally had much to say about it. He took the coffee Qin Cheng passed to him, eyes bright with emotion and excitement, and said seriously: “This is really a good movie. Xia Muyan’s acting skills are really good. I didn’t think her Lu Yan could be portrayed so well, no wonder she won the Effie Award and Jinling Award for best supporting female actress for this role.”

Qin Cheng only focused on a few words, responding: “When she was filming, she NG’d many times. Her acting skills have definitely improved a lot.”

Rong Xu nodded: “So that’s the case. No wonder I feel that in the later parts, her portrayal of tension and explosive power got better. And Lin Xiao’s (林萧 Lín xiāo, not Ling Xiao) Yu Ji was also very good. Although when Xiang Yu was first introduced, I felt that there was something lacking, when it came to the death of Consort Yu Ji, there really was the depiction of tragedy.”

Qin Cheng: “……Just this?”

For a moment, Rong Xu held the white porcelain cup and looked up at Qin Cheng, only to see that man looking at him with deep eyes, calmly and steadily. But, not sure why, somehow Rong Xu saw in the other party’s eyes…. anticipation?

After thinking about it for a while, Rong Xu continued to say, “Your Xiang Yu was performed really well.” This sentence was said very honestly and with a sincere tone, completely from the heart: “I completely could not tell you were only 20 years old at the time. Your acting was really very good.”

Luo Zhentao (罗振涛 Luōzhèntāo) once said  to Rong Xu that although the current Qin Cheng has been the pinnacle of HuaXia’s entertainment industry,  perhaps even the pinnacle of the entire world’s entertainment scene, but now it was already past Qin Cheng’s golden age. Since after Mu Sheng, Qin Cheng had stopped actively filming movies, only doing one movie a year. He also rarely picked up shows, as if he had entered a retirement period in advance.

His current age, for other stars, would be considered a starting point.

But Qin Cheng had come to the end of the road, and could no longer move forward. He had no well-matched rivals. Seniors in the industry had to be respected, while among the younger generation, let alone reach his position, there wasn’t even another male actor who had won 3 awards.

At Qin Cheng’s age, HuaXia’s male actors in the film circle were extremely lacking. Though it appeared to be all flowery and well, there was no true strength.

Therefore, when Rong Xu saw this Story of Hongmen, he realized the meaning of Luo Zhentao’s words for the first time. Five of six years ago was Qin Cheng’s Golden Age period. The him at the time carried with him the ambition and determination to climb to the very top, using MuSheng to become a figure that normal people could only dream of meeting.

Rong Xu couldn’t help but wonder, if had he met the Qin Cheng of that time, what would it be like?

He was afraid he would be even more excited and work even harder in filming.

Qin Cheng no longer had the motivation to improve because he felt that there was no more room for progress. There was a lack of excellent directors, excellent scripts, excellent crew, and excellent opponents.

Then what if it was him (Rong Xu), could he mobilize this man’s fighting spirit?

Rong Xu took a sip of coffee and contemplated to himself.

Of course, Qin Cheng didn’t know that he had already lifted the rock and dropped it onto his own foot. He only wanted to attract the boy with his movie, not realizing that, although the youth was definitely attracted, but it was to the him from seven years ago, and he (Rong Xu) even wanted to meet the him from 7 years ago!

For a time, two people had their own thoughts in their heart.

Rong Xu was thinking about how to get back this man’s ambition and motivation, Qin Cheng was silently thinking: The Xiang Yu I played was highly praised, others all said that he was very handsome … how come he (Rong Xu) had no reaction at all?

There is a long silence in the living room, and it was Rong Xu’s cellphone ringtone that broke the silence. The music was one of ZhuLu’s episode’s songs. The melodious flute sounded slowly. This song was Wan Jiyao’s character theme song, clear and comforting, very emotional.

Rong Xu saw the two words “Luo Ge” on the screen of his cellphone. He froze at first, then said with a smile to Qin Cheng: “I’m going to pick up a call.”

Quickly, Rong Xu walked to the balcony. This phone call lasted a full 10 minutes, and when he returned, he actually started changing his outfit.

Seeing this, Qin Cheng put the coffee cup down gently and asked in surprise: “Need to go out?”

Rong Xu smiled and nodded: “Yes, soon Luo Ge will be picking me up to go to the company to discuss something.”

Qin Cheng didn’t ask any more, but looking at the warm smile on the teenager’s face, he vaguely understood that it didn’t seem to be something bad. Not long after, Rong Xu headed out. As soon as he left, Qin Cheng sent out a text message, and ten minutes later, he received a call.

At the other end of the phone, Xu Jin (徐晋 xú jìn) methodically said: “It seems Zhao Chuyun called Luo Zhentao. When filming Black Clouds,  Zhao Chuyun missed her old friend and was afraid of interfering with the scenes, so she did not intervene in the crew’s filming process. But yesterday, when she heard Rong Xu’s “Lost Wings” she had some ideas, so maybe this time they are going to talk about a cooperation.”

Qin Cheng raised his eyebrows slightly, understanding the situation. He spoke another few words to  his manager, but when he was about to hang up, he heard Xu Jin softly laugh from the other side of the phone and seemingly ask casually: “Qin Cheng, what is your attitude towards Rong Xu, what do you think …… he is to you?”

A hint of surprise flashed in the dark phoenix eyes, and Qin Cheng walked up to the side of his window.

The huge floor-to-ceiling window reflected the man’s handsome figure, beautiful face and impeccable temperament. He looked at the outside city for a long time before whispering: “Who should he be?”

Xu Jin laughed, and jokingly said: “How would I know what you consider Rong Xu as, though this Rong Xu is a very incredible newcomer with huge potential. Don’t you feel a sense of crisis? The way I see it, maybe in not even 5 years….. no, maybe only 3 years, he could reach your current position. Speaking of which, I have recently been putting in a lot of effort to make money. Do you know why? ”

Qin Cheng’s thin lips pursed slightly, and he asked indifferently: “Why?”

Xu Jin laughed loudly and said: “Because my wife has been promoted! You don’t know, right, my wife just got promoted last month, and now she is preparing to open a law firm with her friends.”

 Qin Cheng: “……”

Xu Jin slowly stopped his laughter, without continuing. He and Qin Cheng had known each other for so many years, not only as partners, but also as friends.

A while after, Qin Cheng asked: “Last time, Director Zhao sent you a script, what about it?”

Xu Jin answered immediately: “The male lead hasn’t been found yet. The film is set to start shooting next month. Before, the film we agreed upon with Old Liu, because it was more complicated to prepare in advance, would take another half a year to start shooting.” He spoke rapidly, as he seemed to be afraid the other person would regret it the next second.

After a moment of silence, Qin Cheng said: “This script is actually not bad. Who is the heroine? Tell me tomorrow. If it’s a decent person, then I’ll pick up the film.”

 Xu Jinxi was overjoyed: “Okay!”

Quickly hanging up the phone, Qin Cheng looked up slightly at the bustling city.

In the entertainment industry, there would be newcomers appearing every day, and also elders who become washed up every day. Currently, Rong Xu had arrived at HuaXia Entertainment and was preparing to go meet the gold tier manager who discovered Ling Xiao. At the same time, a man who took a break for a full five years finally accepted the second film script of the year.

Meanwhile, on the Internet, on the official blog of Black Clouds, a message was forwarded to all the fans of the page.

[Black Clouds crew: The first group of the ultra-luxury guest lineup is announced! Is your male god and female goddess here? The first signs of black clouds are incoming! [Video link] Rong Xu, Yu Siyu, Jennifer Arcland, Xia Muyan, Liu Zhen …]

SA Chapter 50 (part 1)

Hi there! I am breaking down chapter 50 into two parts as I did not have time to finish 50 in one go. Part 2 will be released soon.

I included the intonations of the major characters’ names because whenever I read translations, I always wanted to know the proper tones XD. Enjoy!

TL Note: Continuing translations for chapters 50 and onward have the approval of the original translator. Flower Province (Vian) will still be continuing their own translations. You are free to read whichever translation. Thank You!

Chapter 50 – He is so Good, No One Should Think of Stealing Him!

In his last life, Rong Xu (容栩 Róng xǔ) had also set up a home theater in his house where, whenever he had spare time, he could watch movies.

These types of home theater have high requirements for its equipment, such that when they showed movies, the playback quality wouldn’t necessarily be worse than a formal theater’s, and because it had a narrower space than a movie theater, it could allow people to become even more immersed.

When Qin Cheng (秦呈 Qín chéng) was getting the film, he appeared to ask casually: “What movie do you want to watch?

Having arrived in this world for less than a year, Rong Xu really hadn’t seen many movies, and even fewer TV shows. After thinking for a moment, he suddenly thought of someone and laughed: “When we were filming Black Clouds, Xia Muyan (夏慕颜 Xiàmùyán) and I played opposite of each other for a bit, and I had a very deep impression of her. Do you have any of Xia Muyan’s films here?”

Qin Cheng raised his eyebrows: “A deep impression?”

Rong Xu nodded lightly, explaining: “Her acting skills are very good, and her temperament is even better.”

This sentence Rong Xu said wasn’t exactly the truth. In his judgement,  Xia Muyan’s acting skills could not be based on her reputation and the awards she’d won. Her acting skills really were excellent, but they were not much better than Yu Siyu’s (俞思语 yú sīyǔ), and was also a level beneath Wen Xuan’s (温璇 wēn xuán). But now, Rong Xu was a newcomer who had just entered the circle. If he really said this out loud, not only would he be offending people, but would also be considered not understanding propriety.

Xia Muyan’s real advantage over everyone else was her temperament.

Some stars are naturally born with a movie star face, suitable for the big screen. When they pose for photo shoots, they appear very smooth and imposing (质感很足,气势沉淀); When they are filming a movie, at first glance you would feel that this movie is very meaningful, and they would never seem out of place.

Xia Muyan belonged to this type of genuine movie star face, which was suitable for acting in movies, depending on the heavens to eat (depending on her natural face to earn money).

Qin Cheng directly pulled out a DVD from the cabinet and put it in the player. Once the theme song of the movie sounded, Rong Xu looked at Qin Cheng in surprise but saw the latter sitting calmly on a single sofa, coolly saying: “I only have this film here. It’s her movie.”

This movie was called The Story of Hongmen, which was based off of the historical Hongmen Banquet and the story of the Chu King and Consort Yu.

Xia Muyan was still young at the time. After not receiving the Golden Phoenix Award, the character she played in this movie was not the heroine, Yu Ji, but rather female No. 2 Lu Ye. It was this role that crafted her new reputation. Before this role, she mostly played characters who were gentle and virtuous, but this time she successfully acted as a ruthless and decisive Empress Lu, truly becoming HuaXia’s top female actress.

What was worth mentioning was that this movie’s male lead was currently sitting here, watching the movie with Rong Xu.

Rong Xu: “……”

I am new to translating Chinese Webnovels, though I have translation experience in other fields. I figured that since I usually end up reading the Webnovel raws anyways, I could try translating so that my friends and fellow readers can enjoy these wonderful works, too.

My first translation work will be for Superstar Aspirations, for which I have received the go-ahead from the original translator.

My planned schedule of releases is 1 or 2 chapters per week with bonus chapters if Ko-fi goals are met.

Enjoy!
